"It was grand, we came last." - oisin's contirbution
The worst storms in a decade.  Ridiculously tired. Boats cancelled. Obviously you stay at home, watch soft porn (mtv) and look outside at the storms and laugh at all those stupid enough to venture outside.

We (by we I mean oisin) decided to persist.  Annoyed as some of us were at having to walk 5 miles in the freezing wind and rain at 8 in the morning only to catch the boat while check in was closing it made for an interesting weekend.

We arrived on the Friday night, found our accomodation with tournament director Luke Smith and "Random Fling" from Nottingham University and Eddie the Flatmate.

Having tanked up on haggis and cheap cider in an area the locals called Beirut, we hit the reception. After a few games of babyfoot against the natives, we met the TD only to be told that as we were
not allowed compete because we were Irish. Great, 14 hours travel just to be a redundant team. Cheers, mates. Thanks for objecting to us those of you who did. Spirit of the game  - EH!
I wonder why we won the spirit award.
Anyhow, we played our games, winning five out of six, beating the losing finalists and losing to the eventual winners. There were four qualification spaces for Sudent Finals. We therefore had reason to be pissed off. If we had played the competition before the Irish Free State was established in 1928, this wouldn't have happened.
Anyway, being Irish and unwanted, we partied like never before in the Student Union. Kevin went OTT and decided to re-decorate and re odourise any set of stairs he came across. Alan made some funny faces on the dance floor. The yanks did us proud by simply speaking in their amusingly silly accents.
Isaac trying out al's theory of stability when drunk on rocky boats. (note broken glass on table!
seats were at a premium on one of our five trains
judd attempting a throw. he failed.
isaac was left handed. we laughed.
john showing the birds how it's done. we played 8 vs 6 in the final point of this game. but due to piggybackage we only had 6 sets of legs on the pitch!!  the game also had left handed, tyrannosaurus, hammer points!
