Chapter 16: Plot? Try looking in a cemetery!
The forest.
"You really thought you could hold out against me for very long?" Dave asked. "But now."
He swung his sword.
"I will cut you to pieces," Dave said.
"Yes, yes, just bring it," Luke said.
The two lunged at each other again, both connecting. They fell back, but each stood up quickly. A large gash cut across Dave's left cheek. Luke's chest had a cut running diagonally across it. "I can live with a scar on my cheek, hell maybe it will make me look more bad ass," Dave said. "But as for you, you won't be able to survive with a cut straight down your body."
"True, I'll just have to make sure that doesn't happen," Luke said.
"It's really not your decision!" Dave shouted leaping through the air. Luke swung up his sword. The two clanged together and Dave reacted spinning to a stop. He charged again. Luke backed up quickly as the offensive kept coming.
Well this isn't very good at all. Luke thought.
Earth Orbit in a spacecraft.
"Well here we are," Lum said.
"Oh wow...it's kinda nice up here," Joe said.
"No time to enjoy it," Lum said annoyedly and moved the ship down towards Connecticut.
"I was that bad huh?" Joe asked.
"Much worse," Lum said.
"Yeah well it's your own fault," Joe said. "That's what you get for chasing me all over campus like that."
"I could just throw you out right here," Lum said.
"Oh..yes..I guess you could," Joe said. "Uh..I'll be quiet."
"Wise choice."
UC police headquarters.
"So I missed Supercow did I?" Saitoh muttered walking in to find his officers all either confused or exhausted.
"As far as we can tell, that's what happened," Leon said.
"Seems a bit strange," Saitoh said. "But then again, I've heard of stranger things."
"Like what?" The entire room asked sarcastically.
Saitoh sighed.
"Never mind, just write up a report," he said and headed for his office.
"What do you think of the new Captain ey?" Daily said.
"Well he's not a flake like Nene was," Leon said.
"He's got much more shapelier lines," Daily said.
"WONG! You have sexual fantasies about me and all go Shin Sen-Gumi on your ass!" Saitoh shouted.
"Oh..only if you would!" Wong said dreamily.
Elsewhere at a restaurant.
"So how are things going on your end?" Clef muttered sipping a wine cooler.
"Uh..well..that's a good question," Kami said.
"Haven't you been paying attention?"
"I check back every so often. I'm sure he's fine."
"Oh.." Clef said. "I'm having my own problems. Most of all no one believes I'm more then ten years old."
"Aren't you only ten years old?"
Clef sighed.
"I give up! Yes I'm ten years old! Fine there you see!"
He leapt up on a table.
"I'm Guru Clef! I'm just a young boy! Don't let me buy pornography! I'm not eighteen! Don't let me drive a car I'm not eighteen! No..don't give Guru clef anything!"
"Sit down Clef," Kami said. "You're embarrassing yourself."
"Ehh," Clef said. "It's just annoying that's all."
The spaceship meanwhile had landed in the forests of Mansfield. Not the ones where Dave and Luke were fighting, but other forests, somewhere else..right...that's it..
Joe found himself being kicked out the door and the spaceship lifted off.
"Well that was interesting," he said and began to walk in the direction of campus.
"Why won't you die!" Dave shouted swinging his sword again.
"I'm just that good!" Luke said despite the fact he was having serious doubts about his survival. Dave backed up.
"I grow tired of this sword fight," he said. Energy flashed in his hand and surrounded the sword making it glow.
"Hey..what are you doing?" Luke said. He held onto his sword and it began to glow as well.
"I've said before, but I mean it this time," Dave said. "You're going to die."
He charged forward. The two's swords met. An explosion rocked the forest. Luke was thrown back. Dave stood his ground.
"Now that's what happens when one's magical energy is concentrated in a sword!" he shouted.
Luke slowly got back up and focused and waited for the next attack.
Genom Connecticut.
"Seems like they're fighting again," Nakago said staring out Ray's office window.
"Indeed," Ray said. "As I expected. However with the boomer destroyed there is little to keep outside forces from interfering."
"At the moment that isn't happening," Nakago said.
"That could change," Ray said. "Still.. Even if those two were able to survive I would deal
with it. Or shall I say we'd deal with it."
Nakago grinned.
"That's the reason I came to you," Nakago said. "However, I must return or else someone might get suspicious."
"Indeed," Ray said.
Nakago walked out.
Ray pressed a button on one of his view screens and starred at four different pictures, one of each of the UCJAS officers; Luke, Dave, Michelle, and Myra.
"Yes, I'll destroy you all, and then I Ray! The greatest studmuffin in the Connecticut Valley region shall
reclaim my rightful title as UCJAS President!"
"You girls really think you're something don't you?" Alcione shouted.
"You hurt Nicole. POISON WIND!" Michelle shouted. A green smoke shot forth
from her staff. The smoke traveled over and around Myra's protective wall of
ice. Alcione began to cough and gag as the smell got to her.
"What in the name of Cefiro IS that awful smell?" Alcione turned her horse around and began to gallop it away, still coughing at the horrible smell.
"I'll get you three..." she broke into a coughing fit.
When she was far enough away so the girls could not see her, Myra cast Fire
Wall again, but much smaller and just around Nicole. She was soon thawed.
"That sucked," Nicole said, brushing herself off as one last shiver raced
through her body.
"Ya ok?" Myra asked.
"Sure," Nicole said. "But I just had a thought."
"ICE FRISBEE!" she suddenly shouted. A disc made of ice, and about the size of a frisbee formed in her hand.
"Hee hee, cool," she chuckled.
"Uh..what exactly will that do?" Michelle said.
"I'm not sure," Nicole said and handed the frisbee to Michelle who began to study it.
"I want one," Myra whined.
"ICE FRISBEE!" Nicole shouted again forming it in her hand. She handed this one to Myra and then formed a third for herself.
"Wanna see how far they go?" She heard a crunching sound
from her left. She glared at Myra, who had already eaten through half of the frisbee.
"What? It's not food!" Nicole shouted.
A loud explosion caused both Nicole and Michelle to drop their respective
frisbees
"Those explosions," Michelle said with dead seriousness.
"Loud aren't they?" Myra said.
The other two stared at her.
"Well they are!" Myra said. "It's not like I'm lying! Do you think I'm
lying!"
"That's not the issue!" The other two shouted back.
"Let's go," Nicole said.
The three girls ran toward the sound of the explosions.
Another explosion rocked the forest.
"Kami did train you well," Dave said.
"He didn't train me at all!" Luke said.
"Oh," Dave said. "Well..whatever!"
Dave's eyes narrowed sizing up Luke for what he hoped would be a killing blow. Luke could see the intensity in his eyes and knew he had better have a good defense cooked up to deal with it.
If I blow this, I'm dead. Luke thought and readied himself once again.
Meanwhile.
The ignominious Ravi meanwhile was hurrying back towards campus.
That was a tough fight, but I have this sense big things are going on back up there. Or maybe there
isn't, I get cramps for other reasons too, and I'm bleeding like a cactus. What the hell does that mean, I
think I'm tired. Oh well not much farther to go.
At that same time at Subway, Brian and Kenny were wrestling for no apparent reason.
"See this headlock is unbreakable!" Brian said.
"Is not," Kenny said and elbowed him in the gut.
"See, nothing happened," Brian said.
"Oh yeah," Kenny said and gave him another elbow. Brian staggered back.
"All right that did it," Brian muttered. "But let me try the DDT out.
"I think not," Kenny said.
Same time. UC Police Headquarters.
"You think we should check out all those explosions Leon?" Wong asked.
"We could, but explosions are nothing new to Uconn," Leon said.
"Yeah, but we're the cops."
"Good point," Leon said standing up.
The two headed out.
"Those explosions," Michelle said with dead seriousness.
"Loud aren't they?" Myra said.
The other two stared at her.
"Well they are!" Myra said. "It's not like I'm lying! Do you think I'm lying!"
"That's not the issue!" The other two shouted back.
"Let's go," Nicole said.
The three hurried towards the sound of the explosions.
Dave leapt forward, his eyes practically red in fury.
Luke moved to block him.
"DRAGON SLAVE!" came a shout.
"Shit!" Dave and Luke yelled as they were blasted into the air.
"You know you really should be more careful with that Lina," Naga said.
"Don't you ever shut up," Lina said. "See, there's another cave."
Of course a several square mile area had just best defoliated.
"Still.." Naga said.
"I didn't see anyone did you?" Lina asked.
Naga shrugged.
"Curse you Lina inverse," Dave snapped. "Levitation!" he muttered and drifted to the ground. Luke floated to the ground nearby.
"Hey, I can do that too," he said.
"That's good," Dave said. "Because now we can finally settle this!"
The two now stood on the Uconn's massive green lawn that sat next to route 195 and across from East Campus It was perhaps the most scenic area of campus, but also quite empty at the moment. There was plenty of space for a final confrontation. Surrounded by the oldest buildings on campus the two faced off.
"Look aren't you getting sick of trying to kill me? I mean couldn't you be doing something else with your time, like writing a story or something?" Luke said.
"What kind of story?" Dave asked.
Luke had no idea, he was tired and facing death, so he wasn't exactly in the right mood for thought.
"I don't know uh..hey about a story with all of us in it, you know like a UCJAS fanfic," he said.
"A story with all of us in it?" Dave asked. " A UCJAS fanfic?"
"Uh..yeah.."
"That's the stupidest idea I've ever heard of. Who would read it?
"Uh..well."
"Discussion time is over!" Dave said swinging his sword into an offensive stance.
"All right...but don't expect me to go easy on you," Luke said for no real reason.
Meanwhile as has been known to happen the other main characters, either intentionally or otherwise were converging on the battle scene, but none of them had made it quite yet, conveniently.
Both of the opponents were staring at each other. Waiting to see whether the other would make a move or perhaps give away their strategy. The tension was so thick you could it with a chainsaw attached to a very large knife.
Dave spun his sword. Luke tensed.
Dave then shot forward. Luke threw himself into his own attack. The two swords clashed. Another explosion through them back, but they both hit the ground and leapt forward again.
Energy was flying from the swords at their focus intensified and they swung at each other again
before sliding back to opposite sides of the grass.
"Now it ends!" Dave shouted.
"I agree!" Luke shouted. The two charged forward.
"Hey guys what's up?" Joe asked walking up.
"Eh.." Dave said in the middle of his attack.
"What?" Luke said in surprise in the middle of his thrust.
The two swords connected each hitting the other square in the chest.
Dave and Luke both fell to the ground.
"Oh..my bad.."Joe said.
