Chapter 4: Hemroids!: What does that have to do with anything?
Towers
"So you've come all this way looking for a fight?" Vegeta said grinning as he brought on more of his power. "Well I assure you, you've found one. So who's first?"
"Well actually we thought we might both fight you," Ravi said.
"Hmm...well that's not very interesting is it? I only fight people one at a time. It's easier to animate," Vegeta said.
"Oh well then I'll fight you then," Brian said stepping forward.
"And I'll stand back here and look cool," Ravi said taking a few steps back and crossing his arms defiantly.
Brian's eyes narrowed, as did Vegeta's. They stared each other down.
Back at subway.
"So you see," Kami said taking a bite of salami. He chewed and swallowed. "You are destined to be a powerful fighter."
"Yeah, whatever, you might try looking for someone better," Luke said.
"No, it must be you," Kami said.
"Why me? What exactly makes it destiny for me to become some all powerful fighter, I've got work to do. Can't you find some unemployed former wrestler or something?" Luke asked.
"Well..that's not how things work," Kami said nervously. "Look. It's your destiny...deal with it."
"Whatever system you're using obviously sucks," Luke said.
"Look reforms have been held up in committee, so it's the best we have," Kami snapped.
Luke sighed.
Elsewhere at the nice romantic restaurant.
"So um...this is nice looking cheese," Joe said at the plate of the food in front of him. Lum stared at him innocently.
"Do you um like cheese?" Joe asked.
"Well..uh...I don't know let's see," Lum said and began to stare at the cheese on her plate. She took a piece and ate it.
"Hmm..I guess I do like it," she said.
"Well all right," Joe said.
"Do you like cheese?" Lum asked.
"Not really no," Joe said.
"Oh," Lum said. "That's too bad."
"It is," Joe said. "Just the way the world is I guess."
"Yes, I guess so," Lum said.
Meanwhile Leon McNichol and Daily Wong were making their way through a forest. Genom tower loomed in front of them.
"Well Ray went in there. Now what?" Wong asked.
"Good question," McNichol said. "I guess we wait for him to come back out and see where he goes."
"I don't think Nene's going to be too keen on us just running after him like this. Still this forest is romantic isn't it?"
"Cut it out," Leon said.
"Just making an observation, you'd look wonderful naked amongst the trees.."
Leon kicked Daily's ass.
"You done?" Leon asked.
"Yep," Wong muttered. "Just a thought."
Leon growled and stared at the looming Genom structure.
What are you up to? He thought.
"I see the UC police has taken an interest in our affairs," Ray said staring at a monitor in his office. A projection of Wong and Leon's witnessed Leon and Daily's exchange of words and then punches in the preceding minutes had just been broadcast to him via a security camera.
"Well this is far bigger then you gentlemen," he said and began to laugh.
He then turned the monitor to teletubbies and began to watch intently.
Back at Uconn.
"So now that I'm this destined warrior, what do I have to do?" Luke asked annoyed at the whole process.
"Training," Kami said. "You must learn the true power you have."
"Can't you just give me a gun."
"I could, but with gun laws so strict these days, it's much easier for you to rely on the internal power in your heart. The police can't find that when they search your car."
"You sure?" Luke asked.
Kami just stood up. "Come with me," he ordered.
"I was looking for Ryoga, he was supposed to be back here a while ago," Luke said.
"That doesn't matter now, come."
Luke shrugged and the two walked out.
Quite close to the Shippee and Buckley dormitories sat Husky Blues, where practically every night a good part of the campus population could be found partaking in a little alcoholic sunshine.
At the moment there was an argument at it's front door.
"I assure you I am of age!" Master Clef shouted banging his staff on the ground.
"Let's see your ID then buddy," the bouncer said.
"This is so annoying," Clef said pulling an ID from his cloak. The Bouncer stared at it.
"This isn't a driver's license! Hey buddy what you trying to pull?"
' "It is a sacred parchment of Cephiro certifying that I Clef, am the high wizard in the service of
Princess Emeraude!"
"Can't let ya in without legitimate ID!" the bouncer snapped.
Clef stared at him. His eyes glazed over.
"Come right in," The bouncer said in a trance like state.
"Thank you," Clef said and sighed walking into the wild party that was raging on inside. He worked his way through the muddle and arrived at the bar.
"So what can I get ya mac?" The bartender said.
"Scotch, make it a double," Clef said.
"Rough day?" the bartender asked.
"In a way," Clef said climbing onto a stool.
The bartender nodded slightly and passed Clef his scotch.
Back at Towers.
Vegeta glowed as his power continued to grow.
"I've beaten so many opponents I won't even remember beating you," he said.
"Yeah, well I'm going to give you a good bitch slapping bitch!" Brian shouted.
Ravi just grinned.
"Hmm...strong words, but can you back them up?" Vegeta asked.
"You're going to learn that soon enough," Brian said.
"Show him your skill," Ravi said and laughed.
"Oh yeah," Brian said tensing.
"Yes, show me your skill," Vegeta said with a grin and continued to build his power.
And on a door step somewhere in Mansfield.
"Well I hope you had a good time," Joe said.
"Uh..well..you're a nice boy Joe," Lum said. "But..I think..maybe I'm not the right girl for you. It's not you, it's me."
"No problem," Joe said and hurried off.
"He took that too well," Lum muttered. "I thought he'd be better conversation. Then again maybe I should be more choosy about the people I fly after. Well tomorrow's another day."
She headed inside her house.
"Freedom!" Joe shouted running down the street. He barreled into a figure in the darkness.
"Oh..woah sorry," Joe said. He found himself staring right into the red eyes of a purple haired girl. She slowly stood up and brushed herself off.
"Oh..I'm sorry..I didn't..uh..see you," Joe said.
"That's fine," The girl said. "My name is Princess Ayeka, my spaceship crashed. Can you help me?"
"Uh..what?" Joe asked.
"Please.." Ayeka said blushing as their eyes met.
"Uh..well..sure.." Joe said.
"Oh no you don't!" Came another shout as another figure clad in a red and black outfit came flying out of the woods and blasted Joe with a bolt of light. The new arrival dropped to the ground.
"How dare you Space Pirate Ryoko!" Ayeka shouted.
"Try and stop me!" Ryoko shouted.
"I just will," Ayeka shouted back. The alien princess grinned as wooden cylinders formed around her crackling with energy.
Ryoko laughed and formed a sword full of red energy in her hand.
The two faced off, while Joe continued to lie unconscious in the street.
Buckley Hall.
Myra woke up slowly from her nap and nearly rolled off the bed, but caught herself before dropping the nineteen feet to the floor. She instead jumped on a ladder and climbed down to the floor. She flipped on her computer and started up instant messenger. She noticed Michelle was on as well.
" 'ello " Michelle wrote.
"Yo," Myra wrote back. "You done studying Michelle-san?" Myra asked.
"For now," Michelle wrote. "Stupid work.."
"That's why I don't do any work, it's just a waste of time," Myra said.
"That's not what I meant," Michelle quickly replied. "You really should study more."
"And Ricky Martin should be thrown in a snake pit, but it ain't gunna happen," Myra wrote back.
"Oh my," Michelle wrote back.
"I'm hungry, let's all go to Friendly's, I got my paycheck..I'll pay."
"Ok," Michelle said.
"I'll be over in a minute," Myra said and cut the connection. She walked to the elevator and waited as it dropped the three floors to the main level. She stepped out and headed for the back door, her attention was drawn away as she noticed a crowd of torch bearing wolfmen emerging from the South tower elevator. They all were about six foot tall with dark grey coats of fur, clad in some modest armor. They all seemed to stand at attention as Dave emerged from the South stairwell. The wolfmen saluted and growled. Dave gave them a customary wave and then headed down the building's main stairwell down towards the Buckley Dining Hall. The wolfmen followed. Myra sighed.
What is he up to now? She thought and headed out the back door and began singing the lyrics to "U Can't Touch This" as she walked the thirty or so feet from Buckley to all female Shippee hall.
I wonder why it is all an girl dorm. Myra thought. I mean..are they trying to build some sort of utopian society or something? Geez...I mean...a society without men is.....actually pretty damn cool... She thought. Hmm..maybe there's something to this.
She moved to one of Shippee's many doors and noticed a shady figure dressed in a trenchcoat hovering outside. She got a closer look and saw that it was a relatively tall young man, with a half grown beard and mustache, clad in a trenchcoat.
"Hey, what are you doing out here?" Myra asked.
"I'm the decoy rapist," the man said.
"The what?" Myra said.
"See, it's part of the university's plan to decrease rapes. If a real rapist comes by the all girls dorm here, they'll see that I've already got the place staked out and then move on.."
"O..k.." Myra said and hurried inside.
What a weirdo. She thought and headed up to Michelle's room.
She knocked. Michelle emerged.
"Ready to go?" she asked.
"Yep, you wouldn't believe who I just met.." Myra said.
"Who?"
"Oh..never mind..it's just too stupid.."
"Ok.." Michelle said. "They do what they wanna do, say what they wanna say,
live how they wanna live, play how they wanna play..." Michelle chanted. "The Addams Family."
Myra looked at her and sweatdropped.
"Let's see if Nicole wants to go," Myra said.
"Ok," Michelle said.
The two sauntered over to Nicole's room and opened the door. They stopped, back up, closed the door quietly and turned around expressionless.
"I didn't see anything, did you?" Myra asked flatly.
"Nope not a thing," Michelle said.
"Let's just try knocking." Myra said.
About ten miles down the road from the Uconn Campus was the town of Tolland, a slightly more populated area then Mansfield, but still definitely rural in nature. There were only a few roads in Tolland, one of which was 195 which of sliced through the town on it's way up to the University campus. The large castle that towered above the forest tree line in the northwest part of Tolland did not have a road leading up to it. This was largely because the castle hadn't been there for more then a few weeks, and no one in the area had expected it to be there. Still as was a Connecticut tradition, the giant castle that had appeared out of nowhere was accepted quickly as just part of life.
Rezo, the Red Priest, couldn't see anything. True he was looking out of the highest window in the castle, but he had been afflicted with blindness throughout his life. Rezo didn't care much for anything that was happening in Tolland, the people there could go about their business with little to fear from him. His concern was the nearby college campus and the massive amount of activity that had only begun there.
"Vrumugun, Zangulus," he said in a moderate monotone voice.
A cloaked wizard with a crystal embedded in his forehead walked into the room. Following him was a very shabbily dressed long haired character wearing an obsessively large hat.
"You wished to see us," Vrmuggen, the wizard, said.
"What do ya need boss?" Zangulus asked.
"Go to this University, find out what is occurring their and report back," Rezo said.
"You got it," Zangulus said.
"Come Zangulus," Vrmuggen said.
The two walked out.
So many different forces working for different purposes in this small area. How strange. Rezo thought.
But I will find out what is going on, and see whether these threats will have to be dealt with in my
pursuit for sight. I will see again, even if I have to destroy them all.
And back at towers.
"Getting dark huh?" Brian asked.
"I don't care," Vegeta said continuing to glow.
"Yeah, well I don't care either!" Brian said.
"Then we're agreed! But it won't save you!" Vegeta shouted.
"I wouldn't be too sure!" Brian shouted.
"Oh really!" Vegeta shouted.
And they both began to grunt as more and more energy built. Ravi sat down and began to read a
book.
And at Husky Blues.
"Don't you tell me when I've had enough! I'm hundreds of years old," Clef, the great wizard, shouted.
"Hey, buddy, you really have had enough, someone's gotta drive you home," The bartender said.
"Hey, just give me another drink!"
"No!"
"Ehh...then I'm going to blow this place apart!" Clef shouted.
"Now don't get out of hand there buddy..or I'll call the cops."
"Ehh! Try on the natural energy of Cephiro!"
Energy flew from him and blasted apart several bottles of the good stuff. More energy flew from his
hands. The crowd scattered.
And in on of the UC Polices' patrol car.
"All units, respond to a bar fight at Huskies," the radio squawked.
"There's always a bar fight," Kiyone muttered. "I don't deserve this!"
She put the car in gear and sped towards the bar.
"Don't be so hard on yourself Kiyone," Mihoshi said in the passenger feat. "It's not your fault."
"I know. It's your fault," Kiyone said.
"Oh...your mean!" Mihoshi shouted and began to cry. Kiyone sighed.
The three girls were headed towards friendly's. Myra and Michelle were keeping their eyes forward and were still slightly recovering from their embarrassment earlier.
"Hey so what have you guys been up to anyway? Nicole asked.
"Sleeping," Myra said.
"Studying," Michelle said simultaneously.
"Ah..I see," Nicole said.
The group keep walking in silence.
Hmm...I really want to break the monotony here. Nicole thought. She began swinging her arms alternatively up and down with both fists clenched singing.
"Stop! Hammer time! Ohhohohohohohoh...oh."
Myra and Michelle stopped, looked at her, sweat drops formed on their head. They looked at each other and then burst out laughing.
The group became aware quite quickly of the group of people running madly away from Husky Blues, as well as the plume of smoke emerging from it.
"I wonder what's going on there," Michelle said.
"Probably some drunk got outta hand," Nicole said.
"Feel the true might of Cephiro!" shouted a familiar voice in the distance. Part of the building exploded.
"Shit! That's not good," Myra said.
Sirens were filling the air.
"Uh..let's find out what's going on shall we," Nicole said.
Meanwhile at Buckley. Dave stared at a magical projection of the chaos at Husky Blues.
"What the hell is going on over there?" he muttered. "I hate it when things explode and I have nothing to do with it! And where the hell is everyone!"
"Pretty quiet ey?" came a voice.
Dave turned. Facing him was a blonde figure in armor with dragon shaped ornaments on each shoulder.
"And you are?" Dave asked.
"My name is Nakago, my Lord," The man said and bowed.
"I see, and why do I care?"
"I believe that I can explain quite clearly. If you have time to listen," Nakago said.
"Well I've got an exam tomorrow, but you've got five minutes."
"That's all I need. Have you ever heard of the legend of Seiryuu?" he asked.
"Nope, but I bet it's as lame as the one about Suzaku I heard yesterday?"
"Oh? You have heard the legend of Suzaku?" Nakago asked.
"Indeed, I came upon it in a book I acquired a copy of. The Universe of Four Gods."
"I know it well," Nakago said. "I come to you your eminence because I believe we can be a great deal of help to each other."
"We shall soon see," Dave said. "Now what is it you have to offer?"
Nakago grinned.
Meanwhile in a field not far from campus.
"I see...some sort of riot?" Luke asked into a cellular phone. "Ok, I'll get right on it."
He hung up.
"I gotta go Kami," He said. "I've got to cover some explosion down at Husky Blues," Luke said.
"What about your training!" Kami shouted.
"It can wait. I'm the only good news reporter the Daily Campus has!"
"But..the forces of evil!" Kami snapped.
"They can wait! I get ten bucks a story!" Luke said.
"Oh...I see.." Kami said. "Rather cheap going rate actually. Very well then."
Luke hopped into his beat up Mercury Sable and raced towards Husky Blues.
Myra, Michelle, and Nicole were quite surprised to see Master Clef randomly aiming his staff and blowing things up in a drunken rage. They found him still standing in the bar blasting away at the walls. The bartender huddled in a ball in the corner.
"Clef! What the fuck are you doing?" Nicole asked angrily.
Clef turned, staggered a bit, and used his staff to steady himself. His expression of anger softened at
the sight of the girls.
"It's you," He said.
Suddenly Luke's car skidded up and he emerged notebook in hand.
"Okay what's going on here?" he asked walking through the remnants of what had been the front wall of the building. Everyone turned and looked at him.
"Well?" he asked.
"I have no clue," Myra said honestly mystified by the chaos.
"Uh..well.." Michelle said trying to think of something to say.
"A....a...rrrr..y...a...you...pp....police," the bartender asked crawling towards Luke, scared out of his wits. Luke laughed.
"Oh, hell no, I'm a journalist," he answered proudly.
"And a fairly sucky one at that," Nicole added.
The bartender fainted.
"Damn, don't do that, I need to interview you," Luke muttered. Clef wandered over to the bar,
took a bottle of Vodka, and began to chug. Everyone's jaws drooped in unison. Myra knocked the
bottle away from Clef.
"Don't do that! You'll die! Little kids can get alcohol poisoning you know!" She shouted. Clef
was a bit startled by her response. The sirens were getting closer.
"Um, we better get Clef outta here before the cops arrive," Nicole said. Myra was about to lecture Clef on the evils of alcohol abuse, but stopped upon hearing Nicole's wise words. She grabbed Clef's arm and ran towards the door.
"You're right. Let's go!" she shouted.
"Hey! Wait a minute!"Luke shouted blocking the door. "I need some information for my story. You
can't go running off with the prime suspect!"
Myra ran straight into him knocking him several feet back, into the ground.
"No comment!" the group all shouted and hurried out.
Meanwhile, back at towers.
"Hah! You really think you can beat me? I'm not impressed," Vegeta said continuing to stare at Brian.
"My power is beyond your comprehension," Vegeta replied.
"Yeah well you're comprehend my fist in a minute!" Brian shouted.
"Will I?" Vegeta asked.
"You bet you will!" Brian shouted.
"I am a super Saiya-Jyn."
"Saiyan?"
"Saiya-jyn!"
"Saiyan!"
"Saiya-jyn!"
"Ehh..I'll still whoop your ass!"
"Bring it!"
"Oh I will!"
"I bet!"
"Yeah! You'll see!"
"Will I!"
"Yeah!"
Ravi decided to take a nap.
The girls and their new companions had since arrived at Friendly's.
"The cops won't find us here, right?" Myra asked.
"Nah," Everyone else said.
"How are you all so sure?" Myra asked.
The others glanced at each other.
"Well..when have the cops ever looked for a criminal in a Friendly's?" Nicole asked.
"Good point," Myra said.
"Hey don't I know it," O.J. Simpson remarked from the booth behind them. The five all looked at him in surprise.
"What?" he asked back.
"You annoy me!" a slightly more sober Clef said and made O.J. disappear.
"So Clef, why did you see the need to start drinking?" Michelle asked with concern.
"The cops won't find us here, right?" Myra asked.
"I couldn't take it anymore," Clef said once again lapsing into a drunken stupor.
"Couldn't take what?" Nicole asked.
Clef's eyes began to tear up.
"Over and over again..it was too much for me," he said.
"What was?" Myra asked.
"You can tell us," Michelle said.
"Too legit...too legit to quit..Hey! Hey!" Clef moaned.
The other's all fell to the ground in surprise.
"I wonder if Luke's okay?" Myra asked randomly.
Everyone glanced at her.
Joe finally awoke, but he was surprised but what he saw. He seemed to be in a globe surrounded by stars.
"Wha..where am I?" he said.
Ryoko's appeared standing over him.
"WHAT! Who are you!" Joe shouted staring at her yellow eyes, and light blue wildly spiked hair.
"Ryoko, the famous space pirate," she replied.
"What..where am I?" Joe asked.
"Oh my spaceship, Ryo-Ohki."
"Oh..is that all?" Joe said glancing around at the various diamond shaped control panels floating around. "Well I must be going," he said standing up.
"Oh no you don't," Ryoko said. "We're in outer space. Just where would you go?"
"You'd be surprised," Joe said and just stood there.
Ryoko starred at him.
"What?" he asked.
Ryoko sighed.
"I knew you'd be trouble. But I can get money for you at the space-slave auction."
"What?" Joe shouted.
Ryoko let out a laugh as Ryo-Ohki shot through the stars.
