 STRATEGIC & BUDGET PLAN
 UCU-ISS OBJECTIVE
  UCU-ISS will provide:
  1. Network and support
  2. Discussion forum
  3. Social and cultural activities
       for Indonesian students who are studying at University of Canberra 
      or those who are interested in Indonesia.  
 ENVIRONMENTAL OVERVIEW
   To examine the current environment of ISS-UCU the SWOT analysis was used.
    ·  The strength of ISS-UCU
             -   There are many Indonesian students who currently are studying at University Of Canberra
             -    The commitment among Indonesian students to form and run the society
             -    The brotherhood spirit among Indonesian students
   ·  The weakness of ISS-UCU
             As a new organization, the ISS-UCU has no track  record nor  experience  in running the organization
   ·  The opportunities of ISS-UCU
-   There is no   Indonesian society, club association or organization in University of Canberra
-   To affiliate with other Indonesian students association in order to broaden   the network and activities
·  The threats of ISS-UCU
-    The type of membership of the society is an open and without any compulsion therefore members can easily come or go
-    There are many different interests among members since it accommodate undergraduate and postgraduate students  

  UCU-ISS ACTIVITY PLAN & ESTIMATED BUDGET
 Barbecue, luncheon & dinner
             Estimated date of  event:
             April 1, 2001
                        This event is aiming to launch the ISS-UCU and introduce the committee among members
 
               August 5, 2001
This event is aiming to introduce ISS-UCU to new Indonesian students who are coming in the second semester
 
             November 18, 2001
                       During this event ISS-UCU will invite those who are interested in learning more on Indonesia to come and joint the discussion and the cultural experiences activities
           
             Expected participants:
                     50 students per activity
           
             Tentative venue:
                     The first BBQ will be hold at John Knight memorial Park at Lake Ginninderra. Venue for the second and the third BBQ event will be discussed later. However ISS-UCU has the preferences to conducted at public park.
           
             Estimated cost:
                   $ 250.00 for each barbecue.
            This amount will consist of F&B for 50 people

  Sports activities
          Regular sport activity:
            Once a month ISS-UCU will hold sport activity such as:
                                 * Tennis
                                 * Basketball
                                 * Soccer
                                 * Badminton
                                 * Swimming
 
           Competition
    UCU-ISS plans to hold sport competition with other students 
     associations or organizations as well as:
             * Indonesian Students association at ANU
             * Indonesian-Australian researchers association (HPPIA)
             * Indonesian embassy
             * Other organizations (tbd)
          Sports equipment:
UCU-ISS plans to purchase:
                      * Basket ball
                      * Soccer ball
                      * Tennis ball
                      * Aerobic
                      * Shuttle cock           
             Estimated cost:
                   $ 110.00 to purchase sports equipment
                   $ 50.00 to rent equipment during the regular sport activity (racket etc.)
                   $ 60.00 to rent a minibus per competition

  Excursion

             June 29 – July 1, 2001

              Snowy mountain
       Expected participants:
            UCU-ISS members

            $ 360.00 for transportation
            $ 4,800.00 for accommodation
            $ 1,200.00 for F & B
            $ 75.00 for photo documentation
            $ 1,500.00 for tickets and games

                                The informal discussion will be hold once every two months along with the ISS-UCU monthly gathering

                                ISS-UCU plans to invite experts/observers from Indonesia to become guest speakers in a seminar/discussion forum

   Cultural Experiences
             Beside participating in International Night, ISS-UCU plans to hold an Indonesian cultural show once a year. This activity will be hold incorporation with Indonesian Embassy and other Indonesian organization or association in Canberra.
