EXHIBIT : September 26 - 28,2001 |
|
|
The
Electronics and Communications Engineering Exhibit
was participated by different classes of the
aforementioned course. The following ;due to
time constraints the authors have not reported
all projects;are just few of the the entries
on display is a joint class project of ENGR.

AUTOMATIC
DOOR (ELECTRONICS 1)
Description:
|
- this automatic door is an example of closed-loop
control system.
- the system utilizes a light sensor(LDR)
which senses if someone is approaching the
door, either the person is entering or leaving
the room.
- the LDR sends signal to an internal circuit
which then amplifies the signal that will
drive the motor, which in turn, opens and
close the door.
- this system is computer-interfaced.
- the closing and opening of the door is seen
at the computer's monitor.

LIE
DETECTOR
Description:
|
-
Man, it is known, is
the only mammal that knows how to blush.
A study has not been made with regards the
connection between skin resistance and tension.
One thing is certain, though tension affects
sweat glands which in turn affects some
change in the membrane permeability of the
skin. This change in permeability is the
major cause of alternations in electrical
activity. The main idea is, when tension
increases, skin resistance falls,when tension
decreases,skin resistance rises. Credit
should be given to a scientist of the 19th
century M.Ch.fere, who discovered that the
resistances of the skin is compared to a
small electric current change in response
to aroused emotions. Based on this discovery,
the polygraph, or lie detector, was invented.
It responded to the tension generated when
a person is lying.
