South Selkirk, Manitoba Date: February 12, 2003 Time: approx: 10:30 p.m. Toll Free Hotline: Received Report - February 14, 2003 Report passed to area investigator. A witness contacted me through the Hotline, telling he she was at her son's home in East South Selkirk. She took the dog outside for a walk and while looking up at the stars the witness noticed a orange colored ball with a short tail. The sighting lasted for approx: 5 to 6 seconds. She went on to say after watching it for about 4 seconds, the one ball broke into two. It was only a second or two after seeing it break up both objects disappeared. The witness was wondering if there may have been any other sightings reported that matched her report. I told her I had not received any at this time, but it was possible that another investigator did receive some data on it. Take care Brian HBCC UFO Research Winnipeg, Manitoba Date: January 24, 2003 Time: 9:00 p.m. I was on my balcony having a smoke, on January 24. 2002, at 9:00 PM, and happened to see three objects moving south across the sky in a triangle formation, and rotating around each other. Then a fourth appeared and they broke formation. Then two disappeared and there was only two left. I called my brother to come look and to my surprise; they kept coming, first one at a time, then four at a time, then six. All together I counted sixteen headed south. They looked like fireworks at first, when they took off strait up in the air. I knew they were not fireworks, but might be jets. But no sound of jet engines could be heard, even at the time when there were six in the sky at one time. There was also a single engine airplane that seemed to be trying to chase the objects. Filer, Director Mutual UFO Network Eastern February 12, 2003, Majorstar@aol.com Webmaster: Chuck Warren -- My website is at: Filers Files Sponsored by: Filer.unfranchise.com Winnipeg, MB Date: March 2, 2003 Time: 5:30 pm A man reported seeing two objects, one slightly above and ahead of the other, flying NE against the strong wind blowing at the time. The sky was clear. He said it looked "like a helicopter dangling something." The main object was yellow with black stripes and the smaller object underneath was only discernable as a shiny dot. The witness watched the objects for about five minutes as they flew slowly out of sight on the horizon. He had seen them first at about 45 degrees in elevation in the north and was certain that others should have been observing it as well. Thanks to Chris Rutkowski at: Ufology Research of Manitoba http://www.oocities.org/Athens/Delphi/7998/ Bird's Hill, MB Date: March 21, 2003 Time: 8:40 pm local Two people were travelling south on Highway 59, just S of the Highway 44 junction, when they saw in the west (to their right) a group of three white lights in a triangular formation. The lights were "about 250 feet up" in the sky, and at what was thought to be an elevation of about 20 degrees. The lights were moving towards the witnesses at a steady rate over the next minute or two until the object seemed to fly directly over the highway. At this point, the witnesses could see a structure to the object, which to one appeared "like a stealth bomber" or delta-shaped craft like "the space shuttle." The three lights were at the front and on the "wingtips" of the object. There were no flashing lights, only the three solid white lights visible. The witnesses estimated the object was only about 200 feet in altitude over the highway. Suddenly, the object disappeared as the lights "went out like a light bulb." This greatly unnerved the witnesses, who admitted they were "freaked out." They continued travelling S to Winnipeg and when they reached home they called the RCMP. The RCMP in turn contacted the airport and then finally me. I talked to each of the witnesses separately on the phone and obtained concurrent testimony. I spoke with ATC ops who said there were several takeoffs and landings at Winnipeg airport around 8:45 pm, including a Calm Air from Churchill and at least two other commercial flights. Now, it's possible that the forward light and the two landing lights could have been seen, but the coloured wingtip lights should also have been seen if it was that close. The witnesses were also convinced the object really was as close as they thought, which tends to make the airliner theory problematic. But turning off the landing (takeoff) lights would give the appearance of disappearing, I suppose. Still need to check a few things. It sure was nice to get onto a case within an hour or two of it being reported. When I contacted a radio station to see if anyone had called them about anything odd in the sky, and I mentioned this observation, the news reporter laughed and chalked it up to "war jitters." Since one of the witnesses was very agitated and did mention a bomber as a comparison, it's possible this could have been a factor in the case. Thanks to Ufology Research of Manitoba for this report. http://www.oocities.org/Athens/Delphi/7998/ Winnipeg, Manitoba Date: August 2001 Time: Late Afternoon Hello Brian, It is nice to hear from you and would be glad to help you all I can. The day I had taken the picture there was nothing else that I noticed different on my walk. It was a very nice day about 28 deg Celsius with an occasional breeze. The picture that I'm sending you is a copy of the original. It was taken with a a Fuji Finepix 1300 digital camera.. Upon later viewing the images in my camera, I noticed this short dark line on the right side of the sky area in one of the pictures. The apartment building in the background is the building that I lived in at the time and was taking a picture of it. I was standing on the bridge and the vehicle traffic was passing behind me.The camera was new at the time and had few pictures taken with it. Also there are no other marks on any of the other pics that I had taken that day. I really was amazed when I viewed the pic on my computer. I have no idea what that is on the pic. If you are ever in this area visiting I can show you the exact spot the pic was taken from if it would help you investigate things that I may not be aware of. Hope to hear from you again. Maybe there is more to this than I know. All coments are welcomed in trying to solve what this object may be in the photo, which is below. |
