The Lonnie Zamora UFO Incident

April 24, 1964, 5:45 PM

Lonnie Zamora, then 31 and a policeman in the city of Socorro, New Mexico found himself in a high speed chase with another vehicle on the outskirts of town. During the pursuit Zamora was suddenly deviated from the chase by the bizarre sight of a cone of blue flame in the distance, rising more than 2,000 feet. Thinking perhaps an explosion had just taken place, the officer ended the pursuit of the speeding vehicle and moved toward the direction of the flames. Hampered by rough, desert road, Zamora moved slowly toward what appeared to be an overturned car with two people near by. He radioed the station to report the accident, but just then, after cresting a small hill, realized he was not seeing an overturned car at all.

There, just off the side of the road some 600 feet from when Zamora stood, was a strange white, egg shaped object apparently made of brightly polished metal, standing on 4 legs. Beside the craft stood two men in white coveralls, appearing to be inspecting the vehicle. One noticed Zamora, and seemed to react with shock. Only moments later, the officer heard slamming of thick metallic doors and the onset of a low frequency roar which slowly rose in pitch and becoming painfully loud. A bright blue and orange flame appeared below the craft as it began to rise slowly into the air. Fearing that at any moment the whole thing might explode, Zamora took cover behind his squad car. The craft rose higher into the air on its roaring jet flame and then rapidly moved across the desert out of sight. As it climbed, Zamora got his best view of the craft. He described it as being bright aluminum white metal with a peculiar red insignia, which he later rendered in a drawing. No windows or portholes, though he did not hear what sounded like slamming doors just before it took off.

Zamor's account was validated by inspection, both by Project Blue Book (which classified the event as a true "unknown", including the esteemed J. Allen Hynek (who left Project Blue Book after this incident as Hynek's true view ere being gagged by Air Force Officials) and the USAF. One physicist on site noted that the impressions left by the landing gear would have required a vehicle weighing at least 8 tons. The blast mark scorched earth was also analyzed, but as typical with Blue Book and Air Force analysis, no conclusions were made.

Blue Water Village

June 3, 2000, 8:30 PM

We were sitting out in the front yard when I looked over my left shoulder and saw this very large bright light in the sky on June 3, 2000 I told the other four people that were there and they all looked at the light at 8:30 PM. It was too big for a star and too big and bright for a satellite. We took some still photos with the 35mm camera and also took the camcorder and filmed the light. The light stayed in a stationary place and did not
move at all. It lasted about 40 minutes before it slowly faded out. It was oval in shape and bright white. It was much bigger than a headlight of a car for comparison. We are a typical family, I am a nurse with two children, and my husband is a mechanic.

Northern New Mexico

About 20 years ago I had a white light experience on my ranch in Northern New Mexico. I live in a remote area with no close neighbors and there were no sounds associated with the phenomenon. I remember my sleep being invaded by a light so intense that for several minutes afterwards I could plainly see everything in the room with my eyes closed. Just a few weeks ago I was talking with a neighbor who lives seven miles further up the road, she told me that one night an intense light illuminated the cab of her truck and followed her from my place all the way to her house. It stayed above and behind her through all the curves and turns in the road. She got her husband and together they saw it go straight up and out of sight in just a few seconds. She also said that it made no sound. To the best of her recollection this happened about 20 years ago.

My First Of Three Sightings

I have witnessed UFOs on three separate occasions, I also experienced something very Alien.

My first sighting occurred when I was in my teens shortly after out family had moved to a small town on the edge of a lake north of the city. One cool summer night my father, younger brother and myself had gone outside to rescue the cat from a fight with another cat. After breaking up the fight we were commenting on how crystal clear the stars looked. At this point we noticed a bright object moving from south to north. It should be noted that my father had been an aircraft controller in Scotland.

This did not look like an aircraft. It had no flashing lights. My father figured it was a satellite. He had just finished saying this when the object suddenly traveled in a zig zag pattern covering the great distance in an east/west direction at great speed. Then it returned to its original direction at a very slow speed and then it vanished.

Second Sighting

The second sighting took place at night during the winter. My parents had gone out for the evening so I was baby sitting my younger brother and sister who were in bed. My friend Larry was there also. After we had finished watching the hockey game, Larry started to fall asleep. He told me to wake him up after the late news because there was some movie we wanted to watch. After the news I woke Larry and walked over to the television to change the channel. As I passed by the living room window I noticed it seemed to be very bright outside. Then I noticed the shadows of the trees around the house were moving across the snow.

When I looked up I could see a large object moving slowly over and away from the house. The object was glowing green with an orange rim. I called for Larry to come to the window. As he got there the object moved away. We waited for a second and then we could see the object again high in the sky about a quarter of a mile away. It suddenly came down out of the sky toward the ground at a very high speed. we could see it glowing through the trees for sometime.

Larry and I contemplated whether or not to go out and se what it was. We knew the snow in the fields where the object had landed was hip deep so we decided against going out to investigate at night. But by this time the object was gone. The next day Larry and I waded through the snow to the spot where the object had landed. It had been snowing all morning and we found nothing.

Third Sighting

The third incident took place many years later. A dozen of us had gone down to a remote lodge in upstate New York. As night fell we decided to build a campfire down by the lake. As two of us carrying wood down to the lake, we noticed a bright orange light coming towards us. At first we thought it was a helicopter but we could hear no sound. Then the object started to go up and down and from side to side. The object shot straight up into the night sky and vanished.

About 1995, 10:30 PM

It was about 1995, I live in Brooklyn, New York U.S.A. It was around 10:30 PM and I was looking at the moon, it was at 3/4 full. Over about 2 inches move with my telescope I noticed a bright star that should not have been there, to my surprise the craft performed moves that no traditional crafts that I know of could do. From straight lines to instant up and down and sharp climbs and decent. We do not have that technology. The craft was definitely not in our atmosphere, there was no exhaust trails, just silent errie moves. This lasted 15 to 20 minutes, then did a loop around the moon and disappeared. To this day that night haunts me and my wife and is a sight we will never forget.

Zig Zag In New York

I saw a star light object very small circle type of light that zig zaged and then just disappeared up into space. The sky was day bright clear. This object was seen by me on 204th Street and Villa Avenue in the Boro of the Bronx C. New York City.

Mt. Kisco, NY

I lived in Mt. Kisco, NY in the mid eighties. In the Fall of 85 or Spring 86 I saw this craft, as did a friend. While I have described it as larger than a football field I have no recollection of it being triangular in shape, though not to imply it was not. It did move directly overhead at a height I would estimate as not greater than 100 or 150 feet and traveled at no greater than 20 - 25 mph. It was absolutely silent.

At that size, and by the nature of what I saw, which I can still not accurately conceptualize, I can safely say it was definitely not of Earth origin.

August 30, (10:30 PM). Well, basically here's the story, I live in the middle of no where, upstate NY, the Adirondack Park to be exact, it seems that after I did a bit of reading, and checking around with people, that this area seems to be a hot spot for UFO activity. Being a fairly unpopulated area, it would be a great place for military testing, if that's what the UFOs are, and during the November 9th blackout of 1965, a blackout that lasted about 12 hours, the only city for miles that had any power was Saranac Lake, within 50 miles of where I live, and in the middle of the whole blackout.

Two nights ago, today August 30th, I went outside to my car to grab my CD's, this was about at 10:00, 10:30, when I noticed what I thought was a star in the north eastern sky, and then maybe a planet, because it was too bright to be a star. It seemed to be blinking or something, I shrugged and walked back inside with my CD's.
Here's where it gets interesting.

Last night my neighbor called me and we each went out for a smoke at about the same time as above, my friend pointed up to the sky and said "what's that ?". I just replied "a star or something".
It was the same light as the night before, just in the south eastern sky. Basically the conversation continued and we ended up agreeing that it was Mir. This remained to be the general idea for a while, and then we couldn't see it, some trees were blocking the view, so we walked to where we could see it and before we got a glimpse there was a loud sound that could be heard everywhere, it wasn't incredibly loud from where we were, but it was loud enough to hear over the crickets.

The sound was like nothing I've ever heard before, kind of like perhaps a jet engine, but much higher pitch, almost sounded like an old vacuume cleaner now that I think about it. the noise freaked me out at first, although after a bit my friend looked to the northern sky and there was a red one... moving across the tree line and then out of sight. The noise stopped after the red light was out of sight, and then a green light passed over, I judged that from the apparent size that it was a few thousand feet above the ground, I could clearly see several different lights on it, although it may have been much larger, and much farther away. Since they were out two nights in a row I think I'm going to go out tonight, with a camera and see if I can get anything.

Long Island, New York

September 22, 2000, 3:50 PM

On September 22, 2000, on a bright sunlit day Betty LaRosa saw a glint of light in the eastern sky. Betty says, "I saw three tiny lights, two lights one behind the other were moving slowly in a westerly direction with a good distance between them at about 3:50 PM. The third, and brighter light was moving slowly in a southern direction. All three lights seemed to fade and flicker for a period of time and then reappear. The third brighter light appeared to flicker more rapidly. I watched them for 3 to 4 minutes to attempt to identify what I was observing. All lights were a whitish color and about 60 degrees of elevation from the horizon. I calculate their flight at about 25,000 to 30,000 feet.
There was no sound. These flickering lights had no form that would identify them as airplanes. If they were reflecting sunlight, they should not have been flickering. They disappeared several times and then reappeared after about ten seconds and continued to flicker for perhaps 20 seconds. There was no high cloud cover to account for their disappearance. Then they finally disappeared altogether.

Robert L. and his family were at their home in Unadilla, New York, about 40 miles northeast of Binghamton, when they spotted a red object with four lights on it -- red, blue, green and white. The UFO was soon joined by many others, he added. Too many of them to be airplanes, and they were witnessed by the whole family. Hard to distinguish any shapes. They formed triangle and were flashing.

Robert's family continued to watch the strange aerial display for several minutes. I don't know how high they were. It's hard to distinguish height.

Upstate New York

August 7, 2000, 10:00 PM

On Monday evening I was getting out of work (around10:00 PM) driving on a back road home. I'm a R N and work in a state prison in upstate New York. I saw something out of the corner of my eye to my left and looked. In the sky I saw a straight line of lights (or so it seemed at that moment). I would venture a guess of around a dozen or so. The lights were all white. It scared me so much that I can't give you for sure how far up it was, but I will say around 75 - 100 feet up. I looked at it and said to myself, what on earth is that. About that time I realized what it probably was and immediately wanted to cry. I was scared. Then I realized that it wasn't a straight line of lights, it was something kinda round with the lights rotating around the edge like "Christmas lights", the lights were huge and square. At the same time the object seemed to be moving at a very slow pace.

It was above a farm field. I could almost make out the bottom of the object in the darkness, only because it gave off a different shade of black, and it looked "flat". I then pulled off the road and it slowly disappeared. It didn't take off like you hear people say real fast, it kinda just slowly faded. It was like it didn't care if it was seen. The object was huge. Bigger than a house. Huge !! Now I'm questioning my sanity. Did I really see it or not, I went home and woke up my husband and he thinks I'm nuts. Am I ?
I went home staring at the sky driving slow, I was afraid it was out there, silly, but I really thought it was going to follow me.

Fire Island, New York

July 24, 2000, 11:00 PM

I rent a house in ocean bay park on Fire Island. It was Monday night at about 11:00 PM. My wife and I were sitting on the 2nd story deck looking south towards the ocean. It was partly cloudy. We were watching the airplanes in the sky pop in and out of the clouds. Then we saw a silver orange round craft travel parallel to Fire Island in a east to west direction. It was about a mile offshore, and about 6,000 feet above the ground. It traveled a little slower than the propeller planes. This was no plane, had no strobe lights, and glowed silver orange.

Buffalo, New York

1974, no time given

Approx., 1974, 8 to 10 brilliant objects moving at unbelievable speed directly over the city of Buffalo. The objects were visible for several minutes and moved in all directions. This sighting occurred in bright sunshine during the middle of the day. These objects hovered in place for 10 - 20 seconds then moved in no apparent formation in various directions. They moved so fast it seemed as if they were disappearing and then rematerializing in another location. The objects were about the size of stars and eventually moved out of sight at an incredible rate of speed. I witnessed this event along with one other person and to this day we believe what we saw were extraterrestrial craft. I believe this was also reported on the local news by many other people.

I was walking my dog last evening when all of a sudden he started acting very strange.All of a sudden he started elevating about ten feet in the air, then he slowly came back down. As he was elevating towards the sky, I did not notice anything in the sky other than my dog. I was obviously very upset and freaked out that my dog has just floated into the air, actually,he scared me. As I was rushing away from the scene, Three giant triangular shaped very flat looking objects with three very large roaming white spotlights appeared out of the sky, almost out of nowhere, with absolutely no noise. All of a sudden all of the lights on all three of the objects concentrated on one area of the ground, and a very large hissing noise came from out of the craft. At this point I started to run back towards my house and wasn't looking back. As I turned a corner to get out of that area, I noticed an orangey glow coming from an area in the trees, there directly in that glow were several people, humans standing looking like they were on some type of anesthesia or something,(these people did not look familiar to me) Then suddenly, a very skinny silvery shiny, person started moving around these people with a bluish metallic wand and was passing it over each person like a metal detector, once he finished, the orange glow, the people, and he being, floated towards the crafts.

Long Island - More Than Just A Dream

My Life Changed In 1946

I took an telephone interview with a wonderful lady on the evening of March 24, 2001.
She has quite a story to tell, and I am glad she took the time to call and relate her story to me. The report goes back many years, when she was only 5 years old living a happy life with her parents in 1946. On one particular day I woke up from a bad dream, being only 5 years old I was very scared as my dream seemed so real. Later when I thought about what had happened, I could remember this barn. (which plays a roll in this story) I also recollect from my dream a disc shaped object descending for the sky, this object cast below a fog, or steam as it approached the ground until the craft landed. Of course I was shocked and overwhelmed, not to say frightened from what I could remember from my dreams, and being only little I didn't know where these thoughts came from. In 1946 there was not much talk about UFOs as we all would find out later in life. There certainly was no talk of strange flying crafts around our home what so ever.

From the point of the object landing, I could not remember any more about this event I dreamt about. As the years rolled along and me being in my teens, I still carried these hauntings thoughts around with me everywhere I went. "Was it a dream"? "Maybe it was just that, a dream", so I thought.
In the 1970s these thoughts and images still remained with me, over powering me when ever my eyes closed for a nights sleep. To have these same memories keeping popping up day after day I started to wonder why, and to ask questions. I would hear of others who were going through a similar situation as I have been, which led me to look into the UFO Phenomenon with great interest, I was looking for some answers to what was happening to me. It wasn't ill the 1990s that my life would take a whole different, not to say the nightmares I have to this day. I sometimes wake up suddenly in a panic remembering bits and pieces of the past experience's.
Still in the 1970s I went on a trip with a friend as we were touring through New Mexico. We had gone to N.M. to go to my Brother's graduation from the College of Santa Fe, and we also did some tourist stuff while we were there. Prior to us going to Roswell, I had no knowledge of an alleged UFO crash there. As my friend and I traveled around the area, we stopped and took pictures of our trip to New Mexico.

I searched for the photos to reminisce and when I noticed that spec it floored me...as I had never noticed it prior. I have no idea in the world what it is, but friends have suggested that it might be a UFO. I discussed this with my friend that took the photo after many years and he and I both recalled how quiet it was out there in the desert with no one else around and we both thought that if we had heard or seen a plane above which we may have noticed at the time, but we did not. Interesting though, I may have forgotten to tell you Brian, that where we were having this picture taken was a sot in the desert inside a huge fenced area with government signs saying "No Trespassing". The gate was open...not a soul around so we drove in and started driving around the desert inside the gated area. We never saw anyone so we thought it had been deserted, but near where I am standing is a dilapidated old barn which was so reminiscent to the barn in the repetitive dreams I had from 5 year of age and up into my teens years... and also when eventually I saw one of the books on Roswell incident I noticed that one of the photos looked like part of the area we had seen. So is all this coincidental...or meant to happen to me for some reason which I do not know.

As the years move along, with these images in my head and not making any sense out of them whatsoever, it was then in 1990 or 1991 when my life would change forever. I had moved from my apartment back in with my parents at their home on Long Island. It was the Fall Or Spring as Dad still had the screens on all the doors getting ready to keep the bugs out, or hadn't taken them off before winter set in. My parents had left for the weekend, so I was on my own. It was at dusk as I remember it getting dark, approx. time was 6:45 to 7:00 PM. It was looking like an ugly night was coming as I stood at the door as the rain started to fall and you could hear loud claps of thunder. Something seemed to come over me, where my eyes were drawn to look across the street at the street light. I couldn't move, as this light was memorizing to me. As I watched a green light (soft in color, almost a minty green) rose from out of the street lamp and floated slowly across the road towards me, I was so frightened, but I couldn't move an inch as this ball of green kept getting closer and closer, until it stopped only feet away.

It wasn't a solid but more in a gaseous state. I focused on the light, and this is where it gets very strange indeed. Two eyes appeared from out of this floating mass of green, but now not in a frightening fashion. It was almost like these eyes were telling me not to fear what I was witnessing. My first thought was, is this the eye of God, or an alien presence thinking back to my dreams of the craft landing in 1946.

These eyes were trying to tell me something, or as I said to you Brian, it was like it was uploading information into my mind, tons of information in which I am only getting bits and pieces of to this day. But I was shown mass destruction to our world in several ways. It seemed to me it was showing me what there was to come.After all this started on that rainy night, I couldn't remember anything from that point on, when I finally recognized my surroundings once again, it was early morning. I had lost 13 hours in which I cannot recall to this date. What did happen in the missing time ?

I felt something major had happened in my life, especially in the hours that went missing. I wanted, and needed to know, so I made an appointment with a doctor to have him place me under hypnosis to find some answers. After many visits with him, he definitely tells me what I went through on that night did happen.

Comment: I asked this lady if she knew if any her family members may have gone through similar experiences. She didn't know, but did admit that her parents were not believers in the subject matter of UFOs. I made a point that it is possible that this person was chosen for some other purpose later in life. (She mentioned that when a major event is about to happen, she will know a head of time). Was this lady a contactee as these dreams turned to a real experience ? Was this person told of things to come, on a disastrous scale ? And why was this lady chosen to carry the information which is still locked up within her mind, with only fragments coming to the surface. Maybe time will tell, but in the mean time, she lives day to day with a huge amount of knowledge locked up tightly waiting to be released.

She tells me she wakes up still from time to time so frightened and in a sweat, her husband tells the same.

February 4, 2000 6.30: PM    Kathy Matthews and her husband, Winston, were driving home when they saw a strange orange dot in the sky Thursday night. "There was a white vapor trail around it. It was wide at first, and then it turned into a regular, jagged vapor trail," Mrs. Matthews said. "At first I thought it was a comet. But this was huge."

Mrs. Matthews and her husband were among a number of people who saw the strange trail in the sky near the Cumberland-Bladen County line about 6.30 PM. Dispatchers in Bladen County and St. Pauls, as well as the State Highway Patrol, said they got calls from people asking about possible explosions. But nobody had an explanation.

Soldiers at Fort Bragg said they, too, were called. "We called Simmons Army Air Force Base,:" a soldier said. "No one's lost any aircraft today." Air traffic controllers at Fayetteville Regional Airport didn't have an answer, either. "We've gotten 100 calls about it". said one man. "We don't know what it is. Maybe it's from a space shuttle launch. I don't know."

But the space shuttle Endeavour isn't scheduled to launch until Feb. 11 according to the Cape Canaveral Web site.   Matthews said she and her husband followed the vapor trail to the dead end of Cypress Lake Road. It disappeared, she said. "It was not as high up as a jet flies," she said. "But it was not as low as tree-level". The vapor trail started out narrow and then it ended up wide, like the shape of a fish."

Chris Cook of St. Pauls said he saw what appeared to be a jet contrail about 6.45 pm but the pattern was too erratic, he said. "It looked like one of those shuttle launches," he said. "There was a star burst and the vapor fanned out real wide. It was about five miles across. I thought it was a meteor shower or something. I've never seen anything like it before."

North Dakota, United States

October 31, 2001, (around midnight)

It was Wed night...anyway...was out for a midnight drive with friends, out in the country north of town. Off to the east was the most weird light. We kind of all saw it at one time, almost like it JUST appeared at once, and that was why we noticed it together!
It was going very slowly, almost hovering at times... had like 3 colors of lights on it, in a strange formation..NOT like regular
airplane lights.

It was so mesmerizing...that we stopped the vehicle and got out to stare at it. It kind of gave us the chills, but we couldn't take our
eyes off it. It hovered for awhile, and moved again slowly... kind of up and down, then moved forward again. The lights seemed to brighten up...

We didn't know if it was some foreign aircraft, or one of the USA's...or WHAT!!!   It wasn't like any planes that I have ever
seen before. It was very still out, lots of stars, and lots of Northern Lights...
and the full moon on the other side of the sky. Was a beautiful night, and was really kind of freaky standing there by the side of the road, watching this light formation with the Northern Lights dancing behind it.

We kept asking each other..what is it??    Was wondering if it had something to do with the world affairs, since 'something' was
rumored to happen that night.   I preferred to think it was something from NOT in this world... and kept saying...well...beam us up and let's get on with it!! - LOL

I guess that frightened some, cause we had to get back in and beat it back to town....BUT I turned around and watched it hover and move slowly till we got too far away and I couldn't find it any longer in the sky.

At one point, I exclaimed..."it turned...it's coming our direction!!"... the driver did not find that humorous, and put the pedal to the metal...LOL

But it's been gnawing at me since...I can't get the vision of it out of my mind. It was very surreal standing there in the dark still night, watching it move slowly......... I get butterflies and goosies just remembering the experience.

Dayton, Ohio

I'm not really sure that I had a sighting but rather an encounter. I've had a sighting where all I remember was the lighting. But the last incident I have had was totally off the wall. I lost 20 minutes, and couldn't tell you where they went. My daughter had been crying all day, and I was at wits ends. In the heat of the night was on a 1:40, the next thing I remember was trying to get the spider that was crawling on my head off, but there was nothing there. So I grabbed my daughter and took her to my bedroom and turned the T.V. on. In the heat of the night was starting over again, they show back to back here in the afternoons. I really did not think anything of it until the TV screen went black, then gold, then some strange writing appeared, then a long number, then UFO encounter, then another long number. Then the screen went blank and the show I was watching came back on like nothing had happened. The only thing that grabbed my attention was the fact that I lost 20 minutes. Please tell me that I am not crazy. I know that I have had other encounters, just not as weird as this one.

Police Chase UFO

At about 5.00 a.m. on April 17th, 1966, Portage County, Ohio deputies Dale Spaur and Wilbur "Barney" Neff stopped on Route 224 near Ravenna to investigate what appeared to be an abandoned car. The car was full of what seemed to be radio equipment and had an insignia on the door consisting of a triangle with a lightening bolt inside it and the words Seven Steps to Hell written above the triangle. (Note: "Seven Steps to Hell" is also the "motto" of the 7th Army. However, their insignia is an "A" with stepped sides.) As they checked the car, Spaur noticed something rising out of the woods behind them.

I always look behind me so no one can come up behind me...and when I looked in this wooded area behind us, I saw this thing.......as it came over the trees. I looked at Barney and he was still watching the car. He didn't say nothing and the thing kept getting brighter and the area started to get light.

The object was about fifty feet in diameter, with a bright well defined light beam shining down from the bottom.

When Barney Neff saw the object:

He just stood there with his mouth open for a minute as bright as it was, and he looked down. And I started looking down and I looked at my hands and my clothes weren't burning or anything, when it stopped right over on top of us. The only thing, the only sound in the whole area was a hum.......like a transformer being loaded or an overloaded transformer when it changes........

They broke for their patrol car. Once safely inside, Spaur radioed a quick report. A Sergeant Schoenfelt told them to follow the object. They chased the object at speeds of up to 100 mph as it headed east, constantly reporting their position on the radio to allow other officers to follow the chase. As the object moved to the east, Officer H. Wayne Huston of East Palestine, Ohio joined in the chase. He had been listening to the radio reports, and when he saw the object pass overhead with Spaur and Neff close behind, he took off in pursuit.

The chase continued across the state line into Pennsylvania, and as Spaur's vehicle got low on gas, he pulled over to enlist the aid of a Conway. Pennsylvania officer. When Spaur stopped, so did the object. They phoned the Air Force from Conway and minutes later over the radio they heard that jet fighters were being scrambled to intercept the object. The object had other plans, however, and it suddenly shot straight up and vanished.

Frank Panzella, a Conway, PA police officer said:

The object was the shape of half a football, was very bright and about 25 to 35 feet in diameter........The object continued to go upward until it got as small as a ballpoint pen. relative to the moon, the object was quite distant and to the left of the moon. We all four watched the object shoot straight up and disappear.

Police Chief Gerald Buchert of Mantua photographed the object from in front of his home. The Air Force told him not to release the photo, but the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the photo showed an object that was like two saucers put together with a light upper saucer upside down over a dark lower saucer.

Spaur: Somebody had control over it. It wasn't just an object floating around. It can maneuver

The Air Force concluded that the officers had seen a satellite at first, and then had chased the planet Venus for forty-odd miles. A detailed report on the incident was assembled by NICAP, and this report was turned over to the Condon Committee, who did not mention it at all in their final report.

Because so many civilians were monitoring their radio broadcasts after the incident, the sheriff's office decided to give the UFO the code name Floyd. In June, 1966, Spaur saw Floyd again briefly. He just looked up, and it was there. He radioed in that Floyd's here with me!. Then he refused to look for several minutes. When he looked back, Floyd was gone.

The men who were involved in this incident suffered for it. They were hounded by the media and ridiculed by others. Buchert and Neff stopped talking about the incident to anyone. Panzenella received so many phone calls about the incident that he finally had his phone disconnected. Huston quit the police department and moved to Seattle, Washington, where he became a bus driver, changing his preferred name from Wayne to Harold. Spaur's life was ruined. He was hounded even worse than the others. He began to have personal problems that culminated in his arrest for the assault and battery of his wife. HE turned in his badge and made a meager living as a painter. His wife divorced him.

Spaur: If I could change all that I have done in my life, I would change just one thing. And that would be the night we chased that damn thing. That saucer.
