Terrace, British Columbia Date: March 8, 2002 Time: Between 9:00 & 10:30 p.m. Hi My name is (deleted by HBCC UFO) and I live in Terrace. I seen your clip in our weekend paper and thought I would like to tell you my experience. I sit outside to have a cigarette and on the evening of March 8th I say the most usual circle of lights at first it was really bright and as time passed which was about 5-6 minutes the lights began to fade further in the sky and these lights were not of a plane as I see many planes fly overhead as we only live 10 minutes from the airport. It was the most set of lights I have every seen. This took place in the evening as it was very dark I would have to say it was between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 I'm not positive of the time, now I'm always looking up at the sky because if it is what I saw I'm sure it will return. If and when it does I plan on recording the time on my calendar. I have always believed there really are UFOS but this is the first time I have seen what I believe to be a UFO. Well I'm signing of for now and I will keep in touch if I see anymore bright lights. Investigators Note: this is the second such report I have received from a witness who claims to have seen a circle of lights in the night sky. The other witness will have the information for me this week sometime as she lives in my town of Houston, B.C. Also I will follow this report up to see what if any other information is available. Update: The color of lights I would have to describe them as very bright almost white in color. At first they didn't move then they did move going west. The sky was full of stars and it was very clear and cold out I believe their were 6-9 lights and when it moved they went west very slowly and seem to be going in slow motion Kitimat, British Columbia Date: March 5, 2002 Time: approx: 8:45 p.m. I received this report from a family in Kitimat, B.C. This first letter from the mother explains what her son saw while they were all standing outside star gazing. The second letter is from the boy's father and gave me more detailed information. Hello Brian, We read the article in the Weekend Advertiser regarding HWY 16 reports of bright objects in the sky. We live in Kitimat and on March 5th, around 8:45 p.m. we decided to go look at the stars because it was such a clear night. My husband and I were looking one way and my son (9 years old) was looking towards the north when he said he saw a bright light .with a red and orange layer going straight down from the sky. .He described the object as having a tail. He said he didn't see it fall to the ground because it disappeared behind a tree. I had him draw and write down what he saw.He wrote "Going down like a ball of fire. " I'm wondering if you could tell us what this could possibly be. I believe him because he became very excited at the time. Yours truly (name deleted by HBCC UFO) (letter from the father: below) We were outside on the driveway on the north side of the house. I was gazing up to the sky over head towards the south and west trying to pick out a planet. No. We do not have a telescope. My wife, (name deleted by HBCC UFO) was looking at the star chart in the latest issue of the Star News magazine. She was more or less facing east but looking down to the magazine. We were trying to make sense of the chart with the stars above us. You had asked about the object falling behind the tree. After asking our son some questions to find out little more about what he saw. The tree that was mentioned in my wife's message was a tree that was on the front lawn of the house across the street from the house we are living in. The tree is situated roughly north by north east of us. There is a 5,500 foot Mountain called Mt. Elizabeth about ten or fifteen miles, as the crow flies, out the town of Kitimat. It is towards the northeast of the town. It is not visible from the front lawn of our house. The aforementioned tree is roughly on the sightline in between the house and Mt. Elizabeth. From what our son said it seemed to me that the lighted object was a little east of the tree and falling in an angle towards it. My son has no idea whether the object was falling in front of the mountain or behind it. I hope some of this information, though not much, is of some help to you. We wish you luck in finding out what it is and hope you will let us know what our son has witnessed Kindest regards (name deleted by HBCC UFO) I would like to extend my many thanks to this family for taking the time to write and tell me of their sighting. Terrace, British Columbia Date: November of 2001 (Received this report in March of 2002) Time: approx: 2:00 a.m. Greetings. Hi there, we read your writings in the 'News advertiser', dated March 9, 2002. As we're living on the outskirts of Terrace and I walk my dog late at night, or maybe better to say, in the early- early morning hours. My wife and myself have noticed many a time, strange objects flying over our skies, in the southern parts of the sky towards Kitimat, B.C. We do watch every night for more, and do see things that don't make sense, mostly when watched by the naked eye, we then observe them again inside our home with field-binoculars and observe strange designs of colors and shapes beaming towards mother earth. In October or early November of 2001, when walking my dogs at around 2:00 a.m. in the morning, I had the biggest scare of my live yet. Now this might sound strange, and if you do not believe me, I apologize for taking your time. But on a walking trip I heard a strange woosing sound coming from the skies and when looking up, it amazed me to see the scare of my life. If you have seen the Hollywood made movie 'asteroid's then you understand what I'm saying. Out of no where this fire ball came falling down to earth, it was "BIG" and making an never before heard sound and was red glowing at the bottom side. Yes it looked indeed like a asteroid or something like this. It came down and then just fell a part like you see with fire works when shot up in the skies,. I never found a piece of this on the ground, at least not as far as I ever heard, even my dogs were howling as they were scared like hell. When returning home, I called the local RCMP station and they answered like I was a drunk, although they had received another call like this from New Yeiyens a village about 2 hours driving north of Terrace,B.C. at around 11:00 p.m. That night also, when I told them this looked almost like it was above the town they kinda sounded like, 'yea right', nobody else had seen this object that night,. I went on the PC at home and checked all networks I could find, but non had reported a thing. How can something this big get passed our safety lines with all them satellites we have out there ? Would like to hear from you soon, as my wife is more in sky watching as I am. But even so, we have seen many strange objects throughout the whole year that sure have 'no' airplane light etc..etc.. I thank you for your time reading this and please inform us as to what 'you' have observed in the skies also. Thank you. Investigators note: I received another report just like this one from Kitimat which is about 45 minutes away from the above folks. I also wrote to the above witnesses and told them that I still have to have a UFO sighting. Maybe one day. Also I talked again with this fellow and he plans to send along some drawings of what he saw, I will post these when I receive them. I would like to thank these folks for sending along their report to me. Terrace, British Columbia Date: Monday, March 4, 2002 Time: approx: 5:30 - 5:45 a.m. The witness reported to me that he is a body builder and was doing his cardio workout the morning before heading to his place of employment. He was looking up towards the sky and all of a sudden what seemed like a star shot across the sky and came to a complete stop. The witness told me that whatever it was he saw did a loop in the sky and then went straight up and disappeared. He asked me "did it actually move or am I confused or something". I informed him that coloured stars do not do loops in the sky ! I asked what the color of this light looked like. He went on to say it seemed like a star, but a very bright star with a blue, green red color to it. I ask how long this event took place, he said from the time he took notice of it, it lasted only about ten seconds or so. Weather conditions were clear. I asked which direction did it seem to come from. He told me the light headed from east to west but on a bit of an angle. Also he said the light stayed stationary for not more than four seconds or so. He knew it was a strange sight he saw and I thanked him for calling in his report. Kitwanga, British Columbia. Date: Late February, 2002 Time: approx: Between 4:30 & 5:00 a.m. The witness tells me he saw the bright light on Highway # 37 between 55 and 60 kilometers just north of Kitwanga, British Columbia. He told me at the location of the sighting there is a large swampy area off to the left and through the trees, (the witness stopped to till me that there was a full moon present that early morning and thought what he was looking at was the reflection of the moon on the water). The fellow went on to say that there was a very, very bright light in the swamp. His impression of what he saw was a gas station canopy lit up as it was so bright. He mentioned he saw the light 3 times while slowly driving down the highway in the space through the trees. The light would disappear and reappear and he had a good view of it very distinctly the second time. He described the light as an orangey - yellow in color. I asked if he could hear any sounds coming from the area, but he mentioned he was in a logging truck and I certainly know how noisy this can be. I also asked if he could give me an idea on the size of this light. He went on to say whatever it was, was huge. I also asked if, to his knowledge, were there any power lines or transmission towers located at the area where this was seen. He said as far as he knew there was nothing what so ever in the area. He said the bright light was stationary and did not move an inch. I asked how far the light was positioned in the sky and he said either it was sitting on the ground or just above it. We talked for a while and he again mentioned what his impression was of this light. Witness: Whatever it was that was making this light, he seriously thought it was similar to travelling along an empty stretch of highway and coming upon a gas station which has all its lights turned on. A big lit up area like a canopy of a gas station. After he arrived home he later discussed this with his wife telling her how strange this bright light seemed to be and he told me again it was very bright and glowing and how it freaked him out as there was nothing in the swamp area that he knew of. I want to take a drive to the area, so he is going to get me the exact location so I will be able to find the spot. He told me the swamp would have been along the Cranberry River (south) before the first crossing of the highway. He mentioned the swamp would be approx: 3 to 5 kilometers south of the highway. Thanks to the witness for their report. Kitimat British Columbia Date: ? (waiting for a date) Time: Somewhere between 1:40 to 3:00 a.m. I was actually quite shocked to see that someone other than my husband and myself have see something in the sky. At approx. 1:40 am to 3:00 am from our bedroom balcony window we have seen on numerous occassions an bright object (light) jetting around in circles, back and forth, up and down then moving out of sight. We are facing north from Kitimat towards Terrace. Thank you to these witnesses for taking the time to contact me. Terrace, British Columbia Date: February 1, 2002 Time: approx: 6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Color of Object (light): Orange -Red (very large & bright) I had a phone call from a gentleman who read the article about all the UFO sightings which have taken place over the last month and a half around our area here in northern British Columbia. The fellow was one of four witnesses to the ("object" ?) or very large bright light they all saw. He went on to explain to me that on their drive to Terrace, B.C, from Kitseguecla, B.C. on the night of February, 1, 2002 they saw an orange and red very bright light which seemed to be in the shape of a square. This light was sitting close to the top, or just below the top rim of the mountain. Their first thoughts were that this was part of the moon. After spending approximately four hours in the Terrace area, on the way home to Kitseguecla about half way through the drive he saw the moon on the left side of the vehicle. He told me that what he had seen was closer to Terrace and looking nothing like the moon. I asked if he could tell me the exact location of the light. He told me it would have been right at Usk which is approximately 20 - 25 kilometers south of Terrace, B.C. He also explained there is a little church in Usk and the object was seen at the top of the mountain on the same side as the church sits. He again explained the shape of this bright light, and mentioned that it was as if the moon was up and some cloud was covering it to give the impression of a square. Investigators note: There was no cloud cover at all the witness told me . I asked the witness if this light was stationary, or had any movement to it. He told me it wasn't moving for the period of time they watched it. He also said that on his return journey the light was no longer in that location. I asked if he was able to give me an approximate size of the light. I could hear him ask his wife, who was sitting close by, how big did she think it was. They both said that if you looked at a good sized home and were seeing it from about 400 yards away, it seemed to be about the same dimension. I asked at this time about the other witnesses who saw it, and he told me that his wife, brother-n-law and sister-in-law were in the vehicle at the time. He pointed out the bright object to them at the time and all of them said they had never seen anything like it before. I went on to ask if there was any noise coming from the light and he said no but that it was a fair way away from them near, or at the top of the mountain, and it could have made a noise but they were unable to hear it. At the close of the telephone interview he again gave me his impression of what he thought this light looked like. He mentioned that it looked very glossy with the orange, red and yellow. The witness also talked about a possible faint colored band running across the face of the light. I do plan to follow this up to see if I can get any other details from the other three witnesses. I would like to thank this witness for making a report. Terrace, British Columbia Date: March 8, 2002 Time: Between 10:00 & 11:00 p.m. Color: Green & yellow In the telephone conversation this witness said he wasn't sure if what he saw was a meteor or something else. He came out of his home and was walking down the street taking a cigarette break and looking toward the sky when he saw a green and yellow streak of light cross the sky very quickly. This sighting lasted approx: 2 seconds. The light was traveling from east to west at the time. Investigators Note: Of course I am not positive, but I do believe. from what the witness told me about this sighting, that its very possibly a meteor. I would like to thank this witness for making a report. South Hazelton, British Columbia Date: Approx: Between February 27 to March 1, 2002 Time: Between 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. Color: Blue with red The witness said she thought what she saw, may have been a plane flying overhead as she often sees them and it was coming from the west and heading east. She also said that it seemed to be off course from what she usually sees in the flight path. All of a sudden the object turned sharply and headed north. The object was blue in color with a spot of red and was very high up in the sky. The sighting lasted only a few seconds. Investigators Note: This could possibly be a jet, but whatever it was made a sharp turn to the north. This sighting is questionable. I would like to thank this witness for making a report. South Hazelton, British Columbia Date: February 2001 (near the end of the month) Time: 1:00 a.m. Color: Transparent red This witness reported to me something which she still has a hard time believing. She tells me that this object was tubular in shape, but like a triangle. She continued our conversation by telling me that on one side of the object she could clearly see through it at the closest point to her. It almost seemed to have two separate identities, the side closest to the witness seemed to be transparent as she could the stars through it but it also had a triangular outline. The color of the craft was red. I asked if it was bright red. Her perception of it was that the light was a faint red and it was not very high off the ground. (She laughed and said she almost crawled over the back fence to follow it). But as she was alone she thought it would be better not to. She told me it flew at about tree top level very slowly and this is why she could view the object for a decent amount of time. She returned to her home and was shaking badly ... it had really frightened her. Her husband was sleeping and when she told him what she had seen he was not interested. The object was heading south over other residents roof tops and appeared to be going lower and at this time she lost visual contact with it. The witness said she believes the object would have been between 30 and 40 feet in length. She heard no sound at all and the pet (puppy) did not react to it either. I would like to thank this witness for making a report. Francois Lake, Grassy Plains (South of Burns Lake) British Columbia Date: February 14, 2002 Time: Approx: 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Weather Conditions: Clear Sound: None Telephone Interview This witness telephoned me saying he had read the newspaper article (Lakes District Newspaper) on the sightings which are taking place around our area. He reports that on February 11 - 15, 2002 he saw something very strange in the night's sky. He lives at Francois Lake, on the south side, and approximately 30 kilometers from the Ferry landing. He said the night was perfectly dark with the stars shinning brightly. This gentleman said he looked up into the sky, when something caught his eye due to the speed of the object with lights on it. He went on to explain that he has seen a lot satellites, planes, etc.. but this object was like nothing he could compare it to. He said it almost looked like an aircraft, and when it came into his vision which was closer to his area he was located in, the object then came to a complete "stop" and went totally dark. (meaning the lights went out on the object). Then all of a sudden there was a flash off light which reminded him as if you took a mirror and reflected it off the sunlight and aiming it towards the ground you would have a very bright area lit up. But because it was totally dark he said it was like a ray of light which seemed to be sweeping on the ground. This witness told me the sighting only lasted a couple of minutes before continuing on it's way at an incredible speed and disappeared. I asked what direction the object came from, he said it came from north and left heading directly south. Also his father-in-law was witness to the sighting also. He went on to say he looked for a reasonable explanation for this sighting as he was not to keen on the idea of "UFOs". But can't seem to find a any explanation. I asked what altitude he estimated the object was at, he said it was very hard to tell, but went on to say he could not believe how powerful the light was. It was almost like if the sun was shinning through the clouds, giving the effect of a beam of light and of course the brightness of it. Once again it looked as if it was looking for something due to the light sweeping (moving around on the ground). Thanks To The Witness For Thier Report. |

Houston, British Columbia Date: March 1 - 7th, 2002 Time: 2:00 p.m. Weather Conditions: Partly Cloudy Sighting lasted: Approx: 2 minutes Dear sir. I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can. I remember seeing it in the early part of March as I said before. I cannot remember the date exactly, but it was about 2 p.m. when we saw it. It was a cloudy day with some sunny breaks |
||||||||||||||
I will try to give you the location as best I can. I'm not totally familiar with the area yet as I live in the town houses across from the duck pond trail. There is a little park there for kids. I was looking out my patio window towards Houston Forest products, but a little off to the side towards the mountains, there is a small mountain or hill I guess you can call it. It kind of looks like a lump and it was almost behind the hill when it rose up into the sky from what I can see. It left the ground and flew straight up then returned to the ground, straight back down. It zig zagged quite sharply and flew straight back up into the clouds and disappeared. The sighting lasted about 2 minutes in all and from where I was I could not hear nothing. As for the size, it was about the same size as a school bus is long , but totally round, and a metallic silver in color. I only seen it one time. I hope this will answer your question if there is anything else I can help you with just email me. I will try to get around to taking a photo of the location where I saw it using my digital camera if you would like to give you a better idea of the location. Thank you to the witness for their report. Smithers, British Columbia Date: February 1, 2002 Time: Approx: 10:00 p.m. Investigators Note: I received this report March, 24, 2002 which may be a confirmation to the February 1, 2002 sighting in which three ladies witnessed a large boomerang shaped object 3 kilometers east of Telkwa. The witnesses to this sighting were heading east on Highway #16 towards Houston, B.C. their home town. The object passed right over head, going west towards Smithers, B.C. Telkwa is a 10 minute drive east of Smithers. I started out making enquiries into the February, 1, 2002 sighting but I must admit I wasn't ready for the amount of sighting reports which kept coming in. Today, Sunday, March 24, 2002 I received a telephone call from a gentleman who lives in Smithers, British Columbia who had read an article in the Smithers Interior Newspaper about some of the sightings which have taken place from Kitimat, B.C. right through to Prince George. The paper also carried my contact information so if anyone had seen anything strange and wanted to, they could at least find me to file a report for investigation. This witness told me he had gone to rent a video from the Smithers Hollywood Video store and after he came out and got into his car and starting driving down the road, something caught his eye. He mentioned, due to the lights from the town of Smithers he could see the object rather well. He pulled his vehicle over, got out and watched it fly slowly over and around the town for approximately five minutes. He also told me he thought it was descending and his first thoughts were of a para-glider and said it was the best way he could describe what he was looking at. He also said the object had "one" bright white light on it. He mentioned the light would go bright to dim, but said he wasn't sure if this was due to the object turning. The witness mentioned that para-gliders often flew off Hudson Bay mountain and I asked him, because of that fact, had there ever been any other sightings of the gliders .... he replied "no, not at night". I asked him if he had an idea what the size would have been of this object. He said it was hard to tell, but went on to say it would have been about the size of a para-glider if you were standing next to it. He also said the height from the ground would have been approx: 1500 feet. It slowly made turns over the town of Smithers. I also asked about the weather conditions at the time of his sighting, and he said it was overcast as did the three witnesses for the Telkwa sighting the same night. The witness said he would never have mentioned his sighting to anyone as he did not know who or where to report this anyway, until he read the article in the newspaper. Investigators Note: I was talking to some new friends (I am keeping their identity secret) and they told me that they knew for a fact that there was more than normal air traffic in and around our area after the sighting on February 1, 2002. Their source would not elaborate on what was taking place, but again said there were a number of aircraft patrolling the skies our way. I thought this was very interesting as well. Cedarvale, British Columbia Dates: Seems to be ongoing. I plan a trip to visit these witnesses in April when I make my rounds. Also I have only taken a clip from the report due to the information I would have to delete as not to identify this witness. Dear Mr. Vike :) Thank you for your response - in light of the fact that you are very busy -I do appreciate it. Well, when I finally got the nerve to tell my Neighbors about seeing the "Satellites" operating above their property, the man of the house said "Why didn't you call me?! Everyone else has seen them except me!" so I promised that next time I would call him. It seems that these Neighbors and my other Neighbor have seen "Satellite-like things" in this area for quite some time - and not only like what I have described but different as well. The above mentioned Man's little Girls said that when they were camping outside one summer night they observed lights dancing in the fields and then the light then came right into the tent that they were sleeping in. This same family saw a "Satellite" in a bush early one morning at the end of the driveway as they were heading off to school. My Neighbor on the hill above my home had a major "Satellite" sighting and was so excited! He tried to call us but his telephone would not work [we had been away from home that weekend]. Cranberry Junction, British Columbia Date: August or Mid September 1985 Time: approx. 9 - 9.30 p.m. Witness #1 Hi Brian, It was nice to hear from you. Its a funny thing you know that every time I hear or read about UFO sightings, I wish I would have reported it to someone at the time I saw whatever it was. I pulled out some old records, I believe it was late August or mid September 1985. You see I worked for Lyle Gold and Sons Logging and being that I live in the Nass Valley I used to travel the back road to Cranberry Junction and from there down the highway towards Stewart to the old Vandike Logging camp every Sunday night. I had a 1980 Ford F-I50 short box pick up truck. It had no canopy so my visibility was excellent. It was a real nice night, the sky was clear, yet it was dark more like 9 or 9.30 p.m. I remember now because I used to leave the Nass camp at around 8 p.m. I was roughly five to eight miles from reaching Vandike Camp. I was three quarters of the way down this very long straight stretch and I caught a glimpse of this light in my upper front window rear view mirror. I noticed that the light came down at an angle from the Nass river side of the highway like in an "S" like motion but it was a long way back, about as big as this dot on the paper (pencil sized fullstop). It started at the beginning of the straight stretch like it came down and aligned itself with the pavement and if you count to five that's about how long it took to catch up to me going 90 kilometers per hour. It came right up within ten feet in the passing lane of tail end of the pickup. I had a really good look at it in my rear view mirrors and I even turned my head and looked at it. It was a single light about four feet round and was within inches of touching the pavement, very close. I was trying to see if I could see some mass or structure behind the light but I didn't see anything. I was going to wave at it by sticking my hand out of the window but I chickened out :-) By looking straight into the light it was weird. It was like looking at the moon. The light did not shine or light the highway up. It was a light within itself. After watching the light and watching the road I looked back and it was gone. Then a car came around a corner in front of me. I don't know why but I didn't tell anyone in the camp what I saw when I got there. But the very next morning there was five of us guys going to work in a crew cab going back the same way I had came to camp that night. We worked 15 or so miles back down the highway from the camp. It was about 6 a.m. just daylight. It was going to be a very nice day, the sky was a deep morning blue and there was a gray cloud hanging just above the Nass River. It was only as wide as the river and about a kilometer long. I wasn't driving so I was admiring the beauty of this long gray cloud and all of a sudden there was a blue explosion in that cloud. It was the same deep blue as the sky and it was a loud explosion too. I saw all of the blue go out from the explosion and like a magnet it got sucked back into itself and I watched the blue come out of the cloud like a blue worm. It stretched out like an elastic band and like you would let go of that band it shot down the Nass River at a super high speed. I noticed when the head of the blue came out of the clouds there was no ship or structure it was like blue mercury or something liquid (very strange). The guys next to me were shocked when it exploded though they were watching the road and didn't get to see what I did. They said what in tarnation was that !! All I could say was "I don't know". I don't know why but I never did tell them what I had seen the night before. I just took it in as a blessing because not too many people get to see something like that. I don't know what it is. I can only tell you and draw a picture of what I saw. It could be right there in front of you and you wouldn't know it. A true master of surprise it is. Investigators Note: The witness has made two drawings which are posted on my website. http://www.oocities.org/ufologia_canadiana/Nassriver.html The first drawing shows the position on the highway of the truck in regards to the object. The second diagram is one of the truck and the object in relation to the highway and Nass River. Investigators Note: The above told me he was driving with other co-workers in a truck when a deep morning blue and there was a gray cloud hanging just above the Nass River. He also mentioned there was a blue explosion in that cloud. Well this witness had looked up one of the co-workers who he was driving with that day, and asked if I would be able to talk to him about what he saw. I called a really nice gentleman who gave me his report to what he saw that day. Witness #2's report - This fellow told me he had not seen or heard from witness #1 for sometime. This fellow reported that there were still an other in the pick up truck at the time of this sighting, but sadly the third man has now passed away. He conformed that this did take place up on the Cranberry by Derek Lake (he believes) and they had been staying in the Lyle Gold and Sons Logging Camp. He also confirms that a strange gray cloud in a completely clear blue sky when he also seen the weird blue light which came out of the cloud with a tail at one end of it. These men watched the blue light move slowly along until it seemed to just explode. So we have two witnesses now to this sighting. I would like to thank both witness for their report. |
