This is a poem I wrote
last night. Blame it on lack of sleep and too much
toddler tv.
~Lies
Princess Persimmon
Princess Persimmon ate a peach and woke in a strange land
A fairy bit her, a monster licked her, and an ugly dwarf
lent her a hand.
She wandered the corridors, traversing the maze
(The effects of the peach left her mind in a haze.)
The King of the goblins was stunned by her arrival
The odds were twenty-to-one against her survival
He offered her riches in an attempt to stall
He offered her her dreams in a small crystal ball
She didn't defy him like a heroine should
She gave herself to him (we all knew she would)
But the King didn't love her, it had all been a lie
He put her in the oubliette and left her to die
The point of the story, the moral is this
Persimmons and peaches should never be mixed
And beware of the Goblin King and his tricks.
