Man With a Gun

I saw him on T.V. last night
A Serb, a Croat, I'm not sure
Whoever's in the latest fight.
"Man With a Gun" will endure


He was in El Salvador, as I recall,
and Iran,  Iraq, and Kuwait. 
Sometimes its hard to keep track of it all,
but "Man With a Gun" knows their fate

"Man With a Gun" settled the score
in Cuba, Hungary, Greece,
He'll go anywhere to kill and kill more,
from his intentions there is no release.

In Viet Nam he stayed on top of his game,
as in Stalingrad, Pretoria, Belgrade.
Jerusalem and Cairo both know his name; 
"Man With a Gun" came and played.

In a hotel kitchen he gunned Bobby down
and in Memphis he killed Martin King.
A President died in Big D town
"Man With a Gun" made death sing.

We'll see him again on TV tonight;
from this figure we dare not run.
We'll not turn away, nor shudder with fright,
for we all are " Man With a Gun."
