I'm at San Jose State University, where I am a professor of English and director of the Creative Writing Program where I direct the MFA in Creative Writing.  Our URL is SJSU Graduate Creative Writing Program.

I don't get to Iowa City very often anymore.  But when I've been there, I've been both gratified and depressed to see the changes in the city.  My two sons, Adam (born 1982) and Neal (born 1987) may be candidates to attend the writers workshop there in the future, since they both, unfortunately for them, have decided to follow in my footsteps.  I'm working on a new collection of poetry, which will have a couple of poems about Iowa City, that I hope will come out in 2003.
