Projected Class of 74

Class of '74, which was not to be.

I took a GED test for high school equivalency while in eleventh grade at
West High School in early 1973, the first year after U-High closed.  Got the
results back with a couple weeks left in the school year and never went back
to twelfth grade.

I spent four years in the US Navy.  This was my experiment with fine arts; I
signed up with a school guarantee to enter photography in the navy.  It
didn't work out, which was probably to be expected.

I returned to Iowa City in 1977 and got a job in a factory.  I went to
school while working.  I still work at the same place but am no longer
working on a production line; I now program the machines using specialized
programmable logic controllers.

I was married in 1980 to Kathy Huffman of Riverside, a graduate of Central
College in Pella.  Two children; a girl born in February of 1987, and a boy
born in August of 1989.  My wife passed away in 1996 due to complications of
cancer.
