U-High was a very special place. :-)
I was the band director at U-High and taught student teachers in
instrumental music as a GA 1963-65, then taught an experimental h.s.
course
in music literature during 1965-66 while working on a dissertation.
I've
since been on the faculty of several universities (including Indiana
University and the University of Oklahoma), was three years in Washington,
DC, directing the agency that accredits music schools in colleges and
universities, then was dean of music at Bowling Green State University
(Ohio). I was dean of music at Florida State University from
1979 to 1991,
then provost there until 1994, at which time I came to Ohio University
(Athens) as president.
I would enjoy hearing from former students.
