Here's a brief bio:

1974:  BA, Classics, University of Iowa
1980:  BS, Computer Science, University of Iowa
1990:  MBA, Duke University

Software developer, IBM, GE, Lord Corporation 1980-1988
Business Development Manager, software startup Netscan www.netscan.com <http://www.netscan.com>, 1988-1996.  Developed Regalert, publishing regulatory information on Internet, 1995-1996 (www.regalert.com <http://www.regalert.com>).
Netscape Communications Corporation (www.netscape.com <http://www.netscape.com>) 1997-2002.  Principal Consultant, Regional Practice Manager.  Netscape was acquired by AOL in 1998, and (most of) my group then became part of Sun Microsystems <http://www.sun.com> in early 2002, where I now work.

I am married (May 2000), have no children, and have lived in Raleigh, NC and/or Orlando, FL for the past 20 years.

My interests include sailing, fishing, church history and greek/latin literature.  On the side I have a small business that builds web sites for companies in the maritime world (www.pilgrimmarine.com <http://www.pilgrimmarine.com>).  This is mainly a way to finance my boating activities!
Since 2000 I have become fascinated again with the liberal arts.  Inspired by a trip to Italy, I have been studying Italian for the past two years at NC State University.  In the fall of 2004 I will begin work on an MA in theological studies, focus on early church history,  at the Duke Divinity School.   I've been active in the UI College of Liberal Arts capital fund drive for the past few years.

Since my parents and 3 of my 4 sisters live in Iowa City I come home, as I still think of it, frequently.
