| I am not a Gulf War
Veteran although I was a serving member of the Royal Air Force at the
time.However my son, who had joined the army the previous February and
served with 12AD Reg't, is a veteran of the conflict.
Gary, that's his name, was a fit and healthy young man prior to going to the gulf, in fact he boxed for his Reg't. Since returning he has had a catalogue of illnesses and in 1996 was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma for which he was treated and survived. He was diagnosed with the same illness in a different part of his body in 2000 and has had treatment which we can only hope and pray has stopped this for good. I tried to find out as much as I could about gulf war fever ( syndrome ) on the web and found that most of the content was American based. I am running this website to try and put as much info as possible on the web that concerns and affects UK Gulf Veterans and their families. |
