Fount: Never-the-less, David, I will not be bitter. The squaws of the tribe
were my bridesmaids yesterday and feel they must accompany me
everywhere until the interrupted marriage ceremony is completed.
They would jump at the chance of perpetual idleness. We must marry if
not only for the economy of the tribe.

David: Then you forgive me?

Fount: Yes, I forgive you. (They kiss)

(Exit everyone but Daisy, the Squaws singing a reprise of "What other sight is more endowed.")

Dairy: Oh, look at the way he ignores me. Of course, it's all necessary but
it's still very annoying. I shouldn't have to watch David engaged to
someone else before he marries me. And what if something goes wrong and
we can't escape in time? I'm sure this is not the way a romance is
       supposed to feel.
