These are the current members of the Senior Team
that I know of. Some of them like Andreea were on
the team that won the gold in the World Championships,
but have been sent home. Most of them like her should
hopefully be back soon.
Oana Ban
Born: January 11, 1986
She has just recently become age eligible for the senior team
Loredana Boboc
Born: May 12, 1984
Helped the Romanians win gold in Ghent.
Training hard to return to the senior team.
Sabina Cojocar
Born: October 23, 1985
Helped the Romanians win gold in Ghent.
She has just returned to Deva and has resumed training.
She hopefully has a bright future in gymnastics.
Carmen Ionescu
Born: November 22, 1985
Helped the Romanians win gold in Ghent.
She has just reocvered from surgery.
Oana Petrovschi
Born: February 4, 1986
Just recently joined the senior team.
The only member to compete at the recent European Championships.
Andreea Raducan
Born: September 30, 1983
She won the AA at the Sydney Olympics but was stripped
of her medal because she had used a cold medicine that
contained an illegal substance.
She came third in the AA at the 2001 World Champioships.
In Ghent she also came first on beam and floor and finished third on vault.
She was considering retirement at the start of 2002 but has since
decided to continue training.
Silvia Stroescu
Born: May 8, 1985
Helped the Romanians win gold in Ghent.
She is still recovering from an injury and will probably not return until September.
