| UCW - Background History |
| To say the history of UCW has been chequered would be an understatement. In fact UCW's history has had more up's and downs than a whore's mattress. It was back in the fall of 1996 when Tom McIvor had a vision - he wanted to create a wrestling federation in Northern Ireland that bordered the lines of pure violence: and thus the WFS was created (although it is still unclear to this day what the actual meaning of the three letters were). Together with 8 year veteran Duke Kensington, McIvor took the Ulster fans on a rollercoaster of emotions that sold out venues and arenas across the province. Such superstars as Billy Bathrobe and Junior Walmart and the phenom himself, MC UnderPalmer, put their natural attributes on the line night after night to satisfy the blood thirsty audience. However, corruption ran deep within WFS ranks: a mixture of poor funding and backstage bust-ups caused Tom McIvor to face the inevitable: it was time to put the company up for sale (to quote one of the legendary Colin Palmer commentary lines "he needed some aaaasssissstanccceee") In stepped Porn-King Lynchpin, Tony Balboa - with the offer of £3.76 and a packet of BBQ Hula Hoops, Balboa gained control of the new extreme wrestling federation - UCW was born!! In came the new breed of Superstar - The Diceman, Bazz, Crazy Bastard (although it would later change to Wild Thing) Jonny Arkensaw and the Flatliner. There were no longer any problems with funding as UCW went worldwide with promotional trips to both London and Los Angeles. Events became more extreme as the traditional wrestling approach was replaced with death moves such as Snake Eyes and the Saw Cutter - indeed there was an advance to using common household items as weapons (Steel Bins, Baking Trays , Bamboo Canes and Baquettes) Now that WWF, WCW and ECW have joined together, UCW is considered to be the second biggest wrestling organisation in the world - certain WWF officials have been seen at UCW events trying to poach away some of the top talent - and as we continue into the 21st century UCW is striving to become the biggest thing since Peter McIvor revealed that he is Keanu Reeves!
