First is the main text from the Smash Hits one-page feature:
"I remember the first time we saw ourselves in a magazine," recalls Laura. "We couldn't believe it. Anna and I were in McDonald's and didn't expect the magazine to be out yet. Anna went to WHSmith next door and I could just hear her screaming!" "It was amazing," agrees Anna. "I just thought back to when I used to sit in front of the mirror and sing I Just Called To Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder into my hairbrush. It didn't seem like reality."
The girls are more than ready to take on Planet Pop and all the other girl bands around. "What makes us different is the fact we came together organically, we were friends first," expains Anna.
"We chose our name down the pub," laughs Abi. "We wanted something a bit raw, but a bit innocent at the same time. We drew up a list of all the words we could think of, then matched them up. Kick Angel was the best, we could've ended up being Kick Katty or Pleasure Button," she smirks.
"And we've got a funky surreal video to go with it," adds Laura. "It looks like it's set in New York in this neverending room. Our faces all morph and we multiply, it's very strange. But then again, it's different just like us!"
Note the misspelling of Abi's name in the above piece. I wonder if that track was eventually recorded?
Bryan Adams Woos Unknown Brit Girl Group
Bryan Adams is so taken with a new British girl trio he's been wining and dining them just so he can write them a song. The Canadian rocker first met Anna, Laura, and Abby, who make up Kick Angel, at an awards dinner where they performed their debut single "Misunderstood" out next week. And he loved them so much he asked them back to his house for dinner and a jamming session.
Laura explains, "He came over to us and asked if we would consider working with him. He invited us to come over to his apartment for dinner and a chat. He's a very humble man.
"Of course we were really interested so we went over and he had got a chef in to cook for us. We had a fantastic meal and he was a real gentleman. I don't know where he has got a reputation as a womaniser from because he was fine with us.
And the group have a special favour they'd like to ask the rocker, Abby adds, "We've written a brilliant track with him now we are just trying to get him to produce it too." -- Caroline Blight (WENN)
And finally I have two telling stories from Anna Savill's local paper (well, I assume they were in the paper as well as the online version).

Angel Anna flying high
A Hagley singer tipped for pop stardom with her all-girl group is pinning her hopes on top-ten success with the band's debut single.Anna Savill, part of Kick Angel, is keeping her fingers crossed single Misunderstood will soar into next week's charts. The band, also featuring Laura Bird and Abi Snow, signed an album deal last year and appeared in this month's Smash Hits magazine and on its cover CD.
Anna describes the song, released on Monday, as a mid-tempo pop ballad in the same vein as St Etienne.
She said: "We've been on BRMB quite a lot and are record of the week on Radio 2 and our video has been shown a lot on MTV and The Box.
"It sounds really showbiz but I met Tom Jones the other day when the band went to a music award ceremony. He's a rock God so we had to go and say hello and we were all really giggly but he was cool."
The 26-year-old lived in Hall Meadow and attended Haybridge High and Stourbridge's Henwood School of Dance before moving to London to study and pursue her musical career.
Her family now live in Worcester and brother, David, is working as a relief teacher in Georgia.
Anna said: "I was always in the Stourbridge News when I was young and I wanted to let people know how I'm getting on. I'm hoping for the top 20 and with a bit of luck we might make the top ten.
"When we signed the record deal we got an advance but to be honest I'm skint at the moment!"
Heather Fairs, deputy head at Haybridge, taught Anna for many years and remembers her as a popular, attractive and intelligent girl.
She said: "Anna was always a very vivacious girl and into everything that was going on musically - I'm delighted she is doing so well."
