Tauron of the Sundered Lands vs. Struan Briggs
Ultrann stands up, greeting and acknowledging the packed stadium. "Welcome all to the second fight of the 5th Session, a theme week session. Today we have the warrior with the whips fighting against the warrior of the sword. Enjoy!"
Tauron is first to appear, in front of the western gate. He has a wild, almost feral look to him, with his thick beard and hair down to his shoulders. Garbed in chain and presently armed with his longbow, he waits for his opponent to appear. Mere moments later, his opponent, Struan Briggs, appears in front of the north gate. He is clad in breastplate and carries an air of refinement and dignity. He stands ready with a large tower shield strapped to his forearm, with his longsword in the other hand. His longbow is strapped on his back. The crowd begins to cheer for these two hard-core warriors.
Tauron, seeing that his enemy is largely hidden behind the tower shield, dashes northward before firing off an arrow, in hopes of a lucky shot. It was not. Since the distance between the west and north gates is not a large one, he loses his tower shield as he runs towards Tauron. Charging full speed, long sword wielded two handed, he takes a mighty cut at his scruffy foe. Despite an attempt to get out of the way, the blow slashes Tauron's chest, causing a serious wound and some blood to spill. The crowd starts getting into it, fully anticipating a solid melee clash.
Tauron gives them what they want. He steps back 5 feet and lets three whip dagger cracks go in quick succession: one with his right-handed whip dagger - which slashes Struan's left arm - followed by one from his left-handed whip dagger (which misses) and then another with his right (which barely misses Struan's head). "Is that the best you can do, wild man?", taunts Struan. With that, he spins his sword around in an aggressive and slightly boastful manner. Tauron tries to anticipate where the blow will come from, but Struan's action is too random. Struan ends up getting in close, back towards his enemy, and thrusts his blade backward, solidly into Tauron's chest and out through his back. Struan looks over his shoulder, turns around, and pushes his blade off the dead man.
Ultrann stands up and calls the quick match to an end as the healers rush towards Tauron. Struan salutes his fallen enemy with his sword, then salutes Ultrann with his sword and a bow, then acknowledges the cheers of the crowd by raising his sword high. "Thank you all! I plan to please you more in the weeks to come!"
