Kriil is a native to Thymiamata. He lived there his whole life, happily working as a cloud sailor on a number of the merchant kites. He had a comfortable life, and did not need to travel to survive, but he liked the work and the opportunity to see the world. Kriil had one strange fixation though, he was obsessed with learning about the people from Earth.
Many Martian natives reacted to the news of off-worlders with skeptesism, fear, or paranoia. Kriil wanted to know more about this other world. In 1880, the residents of Thymiamata welcomed the humans of America (and their goods and money) into their city. Kriil became a regular visitor to the American quarter - when he found himself in town. In 1885, he met a human who would give him a chance to learn more about Earth then he ever imagined.

James Murphy and his associate were new in town and desired to start up a ship repair business. They brought with them money and technical know-how, but they required knowledge of the local landscape, and cloudship operations. Kriil signed on with their new company and taught them about the Martians of Thymiamata and cloud sailing. In return, they taught him advanced Terran mechanics and engineering and gave him a job test flying their creations.
Appearance
Kriil looks like a martian who has read too many pulp novels. Standing at six foot six, he is an imposing figure - especiallly when wearing a brown leather duster and wide brimmed cowboy hat. He even goes so far as to always tote his prize possession, an American Winchester lever action shotgun named 'Bess', with him when outside of the city.
Kriil has charcoal colored eyes, and dark grey hair. His left ear is missing a piece of the top (as though a bite were taken out of it) from an encounter with High Martians in his cloud sailor days. Kriil knows English fairly well, but speaks with the same Virginian twang as his boss James Murphy (who taught him). Kriil's native language is Na-Gaaryani.
