Catamaran Flyer (12, 2)

The Catamaran flyer uses two thin hulls connected by a cross-piece instead of a single hull. This provides a very stable flyer with a large beam. The catamaran flyer is +1 to maintain trim, but due to its large beam is -1 to recover trim. A catamaran flyer acts as a ship with a hull size (rel/2) greater when rammed. Cost 10,000 per hull size (steel) or 8,000 per hull size (wood), Wt (1 ton).

Sky Sail (12, 0)

Sails on boats are not as efficient as sails on kites because they cannot catch the high altitude winds. A sky sail is a large kite (like a toy, not the flyer) that is more efficient than a regular sail. The sky sail adds a knot to a sailing ship's top speed per reliability number. The sail is difficult to launch, but simple liftwood bobs make it possible. Cost 1000 per hull size, Wt (10 tons per hull size).
