Improved Flyer Controls (15,4)

Improved flyer controls use pullies and clockwork to enhance and simplify the trimsman's duties. They allow a helmsman to perform a trimsman's duties while still controlling the flyer. However, if the flyer looses stability, the helmsman will have to dedicate himself to restoring trim. If the flyer has a dedicated trimsman, it confers a +(rel/2) bonus to maintaining and recovering trim. Cost (200), Wt (1 ton).

Gatling Rifle (22, 4)

This heavy rifle is basically a scaled down version of the Gatling gun. It uses 6 to 8 self-loading rotating barrels to produce a high rate of fire. The weapon is heavy and must be held at the waist when firing. Ammunition is fed from a drum magazine underneath the barrels. Gatling rifles effectively fire (rel x 3) shots per round, have a magazine that will support (rel x 10) rounds of fire, take ten turns to reload, and do 2 wounds per shot. They require a strength of 4 to use, have a save of 1, and a range of 30. Cost 100, Wt 20 lbs (unloaded).
(Note: This invention is heavily influenced from Pinnacle Entertainment Group's Deadlands)

Composite Weapon (22, 2)

The composite weapon is a creation that mixes the attributes of more then one weapon. For example, an inventor could construct a heavy revolver that fires the 0.600 Nitro round (effectively doing 3 wounds). A number of attributes (damage, range, shots, etc.) equal to the rel can be taken from a firearm and put into another. However, increases to damage (swapping ammo type) also carry over the strength penalty. Increases to range increase the barrel length and weight of the gun. Note that some larger ammos will make the weapons unconcealable (a revolver that fires 0.600 Nitro will have a large cylinder). Only one attribute can be swapped, and each design counts as a seperate invention. Cost (Addition of the two weapons being mixed).

Giant Mechanical Automation (40, 5)- requires Mechanical Man or Tripod first

The giant mechanical automation is basically a scaled up version of the mechanical man. Resembing a twenty to forty foot tall metal man, it has a variety of possible functions from construction to war. The giant automation can be clockwork powered, allowing for an operating time of (rel) hours, or a powerplant can be installed (using componant space and requiring a powerplant of 2). The giant automation can carry (rel x 10) tons of componants, ranging from greater power plants to weapons. The giant automation is treated as a vehicle with (rel x 4) hits, and an armor value of (rel x 2). It moves at (rel x 5) miles per hour. Cost (rel x 8000) + componants. Wt (rel x 20 tons).

Automatic Trimsman (Improved Flyer Controls and Gyroscope, 4)

The automatic trimsman (auto-trim) slaves a flyer's trim controls to the inputs of a gyroscope. This allows an aerial flyer to maintain trim without any human input. On its own, it acts as a trimsman with a skill of (rel+1). If used to supplement human input, it confers a +(rel) bonus to maintaining trim, and a +(rel/2) bonus to recovering trim. Cost (800), Wt (2 tons)
