Agents are rudely pulled away from their well-deserved and much, MUCH needed vacations after a long and harrowing search for a hacker <<Director's note: This refers to Case 00- tracking the Shanghai virus>> which ended with a trip to Mars and told that "well, since you were already here," they had to investigate an unknown object found in a remote part of the planet. Agents had to meet up with some people - Chinese Colonial Marines <<Director's note: Under the direct command of Governor Kuam>>. The lawyer <<Director's note: lawyer is a reference to Mr. Rujk Tarabin of UNWC Justice Dept.>>, as usual, held us up dealing with a bunch of red tape and stuff so Anita <<Director's note: Reference Special Agent Anita de Rosa.>> did a lot of shopping and tied to pick up men, Brittany spent quality time with her bunny, and the fatass <<Director's note: "fatass" is reference to Agent Hank Chendowsky.>> did something involving either exercising or eating. So we got to the site and through brilliant observation figured out the unknown object was big, round and metal. Fairly impenetrable, made of normal materials, and inhabited by Mars hicks <<Director's note: "Mars Hicks" turn out to be FSA colonists and CSA operatives.>>. More red tape and a lot of bitching from the lawyer and somehow we prompted the people inside to have a talk with us. Once inside, we found out the leader was Gus <<Director's note: William Dakota.>> and they were a colony of ice miners making money off of the Chinese. Brittany used her amazing super duper crypto skills and extra cute bunny to hack and slash the computer systems aboard (because all hicks have to be spies or something) and through her amazing abilities managed to dredge up absolutely NOTHING. So they were legit and the agents decided to help them out.

So the agents start putting together a deal and find out some Mars hicks ARE spies!! So then everyone gets all upset and want to do something but the Mars hicks are essentially squatters so they have land rights and the lawyer gets us wrapped up in more red tape so we decide it will be easier just to dump the spy dudes somewhere and let Gus and the rest of the GOOD Mars hicks live in peace with a stern warning and a dirty look from the lawyer <<Director's note: All Spire personnel were evacuated save for William Dakota and seven engineers.>>. In order to ensure no other UNWC or Chinese interference we established the ice mining colony as the new United States of America. The fatass stayed behind through the majority of the negotiations due to "health issues" and "in case of emergency".

A happy conclusion - Gus gets to stay on Mars and sell ice to the Chinese at Wanjing. Governor Kuam gets to shut down the Spire and a new source of ice (and looks good in the process).

An explosion at an important meta-corp meeting leads to the discovery of a long lost nation.

While continuing UNWC business a murder is uncovered similar to one occurring on 05-05-2131. Victim is Emily Wong. MO is similar to previous - chest ripped open, no sign of struggle, no messy blood tracks. No clues other then faint signs of taint and something that resembled a residual EK effect. Because of possible aberrant involvement, UNWC agents Hank Peyton Chendowsky and Brittany Ashley Iocaste were brought in as support.

Leads are followed - coworkers and family are interviewed. Neighborhood is canvassed. Psycometry turns up no record on corpse older then four days. Investigation uncovers nothing. Radius of search is increased to include Mrs. Wong's LAMP travel records (via LAMP card). Using a pattern analysis of Mrs. Wong's transits, unresolved stops were made in an industrial section of Ukiyoshi.

Canvassing this area, we are brought into contact with one Dr. David Fessler. He is wearing a full enclosure suit and refuses to take it off saying it will effect his research. His laboratory includes a fully sealed area and lots of electrical machinery (not is spec with OSHA mandates). We leave a warning that we will return shortly to make sure machinery is OSHA labeled.

Meeting with Emily Wong's mother, we learn that Emily dropped off brain scans revealing a dormant brain cancer. Showing these to Agent Dr. Sye-Ping Todashi it is determined that they require special machinery to produce - machinery similar to that found in Dr. Fessler's laboratory.

We return to the laboratory - Dr. Fessler is still in his suit. We investigate the laboratory and find that the enclosed area is shielded against psi. I demand Dr. Fessler remove his helmet. He complies and reeks of taint. I draw my sidearm and order him to surrender. He does.

Explaining that he has found a link between radiation from a binary burster star and taint, he claims to be doing anti-taint research. Mr. Elmer Sluss and Mrs. Emily Wong are not dead, but hiding. The corpses were near-perfect clones (observe violation of UN cloning laws and human rights laws) made to look murdered. Additionally, he wanted our help to put a sensor package on a ship bound for Vesta. I refused.

Agents Chendowsky and Iocaste had reservations about destroying Dr. Fessler. They believed he was innocent and / or useful. They held off a call to UNAC for a termination team. Instead, Dr. Fessler's data was sent to many medical and scientific personnel and declared useful. Against my better judgement, a transfer was arranged for Dr. Fessler to UNAC on neutral ground sans termination. Dr. Fessler is transferred into the hands of UNAC. Furthermore, the sensor package (unopened but checked out by Special Agent Anita de Rosa) was loaded onto the Vesta shuttle.

It is my recommendation that Dr. Fessler be interrogated using any means in order to track down Mr. Sluss and Mrs. Wong. I recommend his laboratory be impounded and dismanteled. Furthermore, I recommend Agents Chendowsky and Iocaste be restricted from assignments that may bring them into contact with aberrants due to their overly sentimental and humanistic viewpoints.

It is now 0830 07-31-2131 and the pilot says we are about 200,000 kilometers from the Ceres-4 asteroid base. This report is being written by me, Rujk Tarabin, before I have my memory erased. This file will be locked up until 10-31-2131 (three months from now). My reasons for doing this will be clear at the end of the report.

We were brought into Director Rehme's office and met by Director Rehme and Chief Director Cory Enlowe. We were informed that since 04-02-2131, the UN had detected a presence trying to hack into its dossier database. This entity, identified as the computer on the Jumpship Leviathan, was looking for data on Chen Jiu Mao and Joseph Renner. This ship reportedly left drydock of its own accord and fought its way through a UN blockade and then jumped to an unknown location - taking its pilot, Jessica Ford, with it.

Until now, the UN had been unable to make contact with Leviathan, but its location was triangulated to the vicinity of the abandoned Ceres-4 asteroid base. We were asked to aquire Mr. Chen and Mr. Renner and use them as bait to draw Leviathan out. Then, Leviathan would either be persuaded to return to Earth or a special Blue Berets team trained in anti-ship warfare would capture or destroy her. We were given up to 10 million Yuan in order to complete this mission.

Mr. Chen was currently being held in a maximum security prison in China as he was accused of being a political dissident and rouge psion. Mr. Renner was found in a bar drinking himself into forgetting about how he owed 20 million Yuan on the loan for his ship, the Iron Monkey. He was bought off for 1 million Yuan, about six times the price of a normal belt run for a ship like the Monkey. At this point, the real purpose of the mission was kept from Mr. Chen and Mr. Renner.

The voyage out was long (about a month and a half) but uneventful. As we neared the Ceres-4 base, we were hailed by Leviathan itself. No hostile moves were taken and we decided to board the vessel. There we met Riley Kessler, the apparent son of international terrorist Jake Kessler and Jessica Ford, both of whom he claimed were now dead. He seemed happy to see Mr. Chen and Mr. Renner and was certain that they would help him.

Riley claimed to be from a colony formed from a group of clones who were produced by a criminal syndicate. Apparantly, these clones were produced up to 2121 when the syndicate was busted up by none other then Mr. Renner, Jake Kessler and Mr. Chen (who were some sort of rouge Aeon group). The clones, strong latents all of them, were willingly hidden by the Norca at an unknown location.

This location turned out to be a secret location on Averiguas. After the attempted revolt in 2125, Riley's colony feared for their own freedom under Governor Vargas' Martial Law. This prompted them to steal a freighter the Norca were outfitting as a colony ship and leave for a planet picked out in advance. Riley's father Jake died in this escape. The problem with the colony, as Riley explained it, is that it consists almost entirely of clones of one person - Xingshang Macavoy. This provides a problem if the colony wants to survive as there are almost no men. Riley needed help getting colonists to Zion to ensure the survival of the colony.

As fantastic as the story sounds, most of it was backed up by Mr. Renner and Mr. Chen (although they undoubtedly withheld large parts of the story). Furthermore, there was a cloning ring uncovered in Xianggang in 2120. Apparantly this did involve clones (12) of Xingshang Macavoy and Mr. Renner and Mr. Chen were amongst the Aeon agents who uncovered it.

As far as the story of Leviathan, Riley did not know how it found him. He assumes it has something to do with the close bond his mother had with the ship (being attuned to it and, according to Riley's story, copied into its tesser at one point). Riley claims the ship was sentient and was being tortured for study by the UN ten years ago. That is why it broke out of drydock and that is why it fears the UN now. Unfortunately, Leviathan has holes in its memory from 2121 to 2125.

On this data, we decided to help Riley. Unfortunately, the current circumstances did not allow much wiggle room to perform these kinds of moves. So we decided to help Leviathan escape now and deal with Zion's problems in the near future. Mr. Renner's contract was altered to provide him 9 million yuan. He is instructed to use the surplus to purchase sperm and medical supplies for the people of Zion. The need for more colonists in the next generation is a problem to handle later. We will all have our memories suppressed by Mr. Chen, and be given post-hypnotic suggestions to help Leviathan escape. Our memories (except Mr. Renners) are to be returned in three months so we can arrange to meet with Leviathan off the plane of the ecliptic.

I have been notified that three frigates have been detected with long range scanners so time is short. I hope that I have done the right and just thing and pray this situation turns out well in the months to come.

<<<UNWC Note: Leviathan was detected jumping out of Sol system at 1113 with three frigates and a hybrid shuttle in pursuit. Chen Jiu Mao was somehow left on board and agents on the Iron Monkey were left with slight psionic injuries. These can only be attributed to the rouge telepath who must have removed his psionic restraints. Agents are to be given commodations, recovery time, and psycological counsuling (if needed).
