Background

Jian is thin with bad posture and a slight paunch - he looks the opposite of who you would expect to find in such an adventurous occupation. When he talks, he tends to be literal and to the point without a tendency for small talk. Conversation is usually about work or finances. When under pressure or combat, Jian is fearless and never backs down.

Jian was born a child of privilege. The offspring of the scions of wealthy Chinese and Nihojin families, he received the best Ivy League educations money could buy. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Oxford with master's degrees in finance and statistics, Jian accepted a job working as a financial analyst for the mega investment corporation Amalgamated Business Interests (ABI).

At ABI Jian was able to both do a superb job as a financial analyst, and play the corporate ladder game, but he never felt passionate about what he did. He began in secretly immerse himself into adventure holovids, action video games and eventually downloaded a large collection of pulp novels off the OPNET, which he stayed up late every night reading.

Jian introduced himself to Angel Enterprises when he noticed traces of them accessing an ABI subsibary's financial records. He correctly guessed who and what they were and offered his services, at first as a diverstion from his work. Within six months, he had left his lucrative job at ABI and signed on with the investigation company full time.

Jian's preferred weapon is a Banji Thunder 12 gauge shotgun (hunter edition) that was passed down to him from his father (who was an avid hunter). Jian usually carries an Aris Whistler Sonic Pistol .

Jian carries and Iris Obsidian mini-comp with a Watson agent. Jian also uses the mini-comp to produce holo-art, a hobby he is not very good at (but learning). Still, he wears a hologram belt (pg-88 tech) and HUD contacts. His Iris has a cellular link.

Jian typically wears reinforced clothing (0/2), although his slouch is perfect for concealing his armored vest (1/3).
