Description |
|
|
When most people think of cargo haulers, they imagine large trucks and aircraft. However, the vast majority of bulk good are shipped via cargo sea-craft. The reason is that it costs many times less to ship things this way. Enter the cargo submarine. Powered by efficient and long-lasting fusion engines and unaffected by weather on the surface, cargo submarine's haul the planet's cargo around the world, silently and unseen. The SC-3 is heavily automated and has a small crew for a vessel of its size. Indeed, the crew is mainly there to monitor the ship's systems and for insurance purposes. The cargo bays are completely taken up by four large self-propelled barges which are used to transport the cargo from the submarine to any type of standard port. These barges can be piloted by a single person or operated remotely. Note that the cavernous cargo is airtight and, for cost reasons, is typically not privvy to the submarine's life support systems. |
