Liberal

The Gaivota  was constructed in the shipyards of Lisbon and launched in september of 1781. It took part in the campaign against Artigas in the Cisplatine during  1817-1818. When the fight was over, the ship was rebuilt, gaining more equippment in Rio de Janeiro shipyards, where she gained the name Liberal.

The ship participated in the  fight against the Portuguese fleet, having discrete participation  in the Battle of May 4, 1823. In the Campaign in the Cisplatine the ship took part in the Battle of  Lara-Quilmes.

From this point forth the information about the ship is scarce. Her last mention is from 1837.
