Piranga

The União was constructed in the shipyards of Salvador, province of Bahia in 1818. Later with the name of Piranga she was designed to engage the Portuguese Fleet stationed near the province of Bahia coast. Under command of english captain James Taylor. She took part in the combat of May 4, 1823. In the Cisplatine the ship did not achieve  a good performance, hiting a sand bank while in persecution of  the Argentinean vessel General Dorrego. The ship was decomissioned in 1833.
