| Libertad Batallion - Officer Triple Alliance War - 1866 |
| Not so famous as the Florida Battalion, the Libertad was also present in many of the most savages encounters of the conflict. This unit was created in May, 1865 by presidential decree, which name Don Cándido Bustamante responsible for the assemble of men to join the batallion. Along with Florida and the 24 de Abril, the Libertad formed the Uruguayan forces under command of president Venâncio Flores. The unit uniforms are similar to the ones worn by the Spanish Carlistas. |
