Munnar is a beautiful hill station on the Western Ghats at about 1,600 metres above sea level. There are lakes, reservoirs, green forests and several tea estates.
Sightseeing
Mattupetty: 13 km from Munnar, the Indo-Swiss dairy farm is situated here. There is also a dam and a government rest house at Mattupetty.
Marayoor: 40 km from Munnar. Relics of the New Stone Age civilization have been unearthed here.
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary: 70 km from Munnar, is an important place for trekking. It is close to the Eravikulam National Park.
