Before Spring

Everyone takes a vacation,
so should I
Withdraw like a snail  in a shell
Tortoise in its coat
frog in muddy water
Humus in leafy swarm
Hibernating, resting to rejuvenate later
I see leaves all around
Drifting, falling aimlessly

It's autumn I know
feels so nice, to see bare trees
light, motionless, brown, devoid of leaves
so shorn of energy
In preparedness for spring
They are napping
Like my heart
Caught between Strain of expectations
And disdain of despair.
