DRIVE ACROSS THE USA 2004 In the middle of September 2004, I drove across the country by myself for the first time ever. To make it out to grad school at UC Davis (California), I drove from my parents' home in Syracuse, NY to Davis, CA in eight days. I took a little zigzagged detour through the midwest to visit friends and family. (thanks again for letting me crash for the night, folks!)
