The Upper Room, Jesus and the Disciples

This is the set and cast of the "Last Supper" as presented by the United Methodist Church of Lindsay Oklahoma. This drama is based on the famous painting by Leonardo Da Vince titled "The Last Supper." The set and the wardrobe have been carefully reproduced from Leonardo's original work of art.

Compare Leonardo's masterpiece and the above picture. See how the costumes are replicas of the clothing worn by the disciples in Da Vince's painting.

Note how the tables and the tableware are very similar. Click here for a interesting fact about a table prop (a fish) on our set.

Look at the actors and see how they favor the men in Leonardo's painting, right down to their beards and hair.

Notice that in the background, a canvas set, has been painted to match the Upper Room as in Leonardo's painting.

Lighting plays an important role in the production. A large stained glass window in the sanctuary where the presentation is held, is covered to create a completely dark room. As the play begins, the lights are raised to reveal the scene as shown in the above picture. The lights are lowered between each actors monologue for a musical interlude.
