December 2002 Extended Day Newsletter

Dear Parents,

By now, I’m sure you’re all aware of the fire that took place at the School District Administration Building on October 13th. The administration staff has made a wonderful recovery, but there were delays in depositing some of our October tuition checks. There are still some delays in interoffice mail service, so we advise parents to allow extra time for checks to reach us if they are sent by mail. You may bring payment to the Candlebrook Office any time to assure that you are not charged a late fee. Payment must be received by the 7th of the month.

Schools and extended day centers will be closed for winter break from Monday, December 23rd to Wednesday, January 1st. All centers will reopen at 7:00AM on Thursday, January 2nd. On Friday, December 20th, elementary school will close at 2:00PM. Our centers will remain open until 6:00PM. All our after-school children (3:30PM to 6:00PM) have been charged an additional $3.00 for the period from 2:00PM to 3:30PM. Billing for our pre-K and extended kindergarten children is not affected.

Deletions for December schedules must be made by our last business day in November, Wednesday the 27th. December 1st is too late. Please note: families who receive the 15% discount for full attendance will lose the discount for that month if you delete days.

Please call the extended day office if your child will be absent or if you have any updated addresses or phone numbers. We still take the children outside in the winter, so remember to dress your child appropriately and send hats, mittens, etc.

The letters for the month are "M" and "C". The number is "4" and the colors are red and green.

My staff and I wish you and your families a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season.

Sincerely,
Pat Holden
Director
