The Ummah, Which Have Been Disregarding
Their Strength*

The
biggest deterioration of the Muslim Ummah
today is that, they are neglecting
their skill and professionalism (The
Strength) in undergoing temporary life
gifted by Allah SWT in this fantasy world.
Muslims nowadays, do not proactive and
progressive in their duties and works,
which means do not work within full attention
and commit on them in pursuing the goal
of success and conquering their weaknesses.
Therefore, time is no longer important
for them. Time is the cheapest thing
for them and no quality at all! Really,
they do not appreciate it. Working and
seeking for the goodness are difficult
and the unvalued wealthy for them is ‘Human
Behaviors’ itself. Here, are the
five major weaknesses of today’s
Muslim ummah that led them to the manners
deterioration; Strength futility of A’qal,
Strength futility of Deeds, Strength
futility of Economy, Strength futility
of Energy, and Strength futility of Spiritual
would be briefly discuss in this poor
writing.
1.
Strength futility of A’qal;
Muslims seems to be an imitator of others,
rather then the thinker. They are not
creative, feel easy to memorize instead
of thinking and crisply picked people’s
idea (Muslims or non-Muslims), because
for them no need to open for difficulties
(to think), everything is ready to
digest. An embarrassing example, in
twenty countries and Muslims are the
majority have to learn the knowledge
in a foreign language (refers to Primary
language-English). It is sadly to say
that, they are not capable to study
via an Arabic language, meanwhile,
Israel the country’s population
merely, two or three million capable
to search and gaining the knowledge
in Hebrew (Ibrani) language.
2. Strength futility of Deeds;
Muslims are neglecting their A’mal
in obtaining the assistance of Allah
SWT. He had created human beings to work,
to strive, to serve and other duties
in observing(by Him) us, who is the most ‘ahsanul
amalin’ (kindliness in their deeds).
It is important to act as good as possible
in this world because, the best practices
of good deeds are the main priority.
Fortunately, the ummah is a less in contribution
and good practices but scores of words
and debates. They are active in words
but no practice of their words. They
do not work to realize a wish into a
fact. This is really intimidated by Allah
SWT by sayings “O ye who believe
why say that which ye do not? Grievously
odious is it in the sight of God that
ye say that which ye do not. (Al-Saff:
2-3).
3. Strength futility of Economy;
Although they are living in the best
earth, area, arable (land) and other
beneficial sources given by Allah SWT
but, no useful actions taken to get
in use all of the stuffs. In the same
time, they rarely no made a mistake
(always make mistake). Look on this;
they are easily developing arable land
to be industrial projects and houses.
However, to develop the driest land
to be useful for agriculture they are
not capable yet. This is what does
it meant in Fiqh al-Islam ‘Ihya
ul Mawaat’; they are destructing
a good land and not working for the
dead land. These happened because of
their habitual natures, unproductive
ummah. An example, they are willingly
or prefer to import rather then establishing
something on their own (production)
and export them for the benefits of
others. The word of ‘develop
countries’ directed to the Muslims
countries, is actually a delicate phrase
of ‘backwards’ (irregular
in nature, not ready to accept changes
yet). The word of ‘develop’ being
used just as a spiritual motivation
for Muslims to adapt with the development
today, and to achieve the success onwards.
4. Strength futility of Energy;
Even though, they are too proud with
their huge number in this world, but
it is useless if there is no spirit
of unity, fraternity and equality among
all of them. They are disregarding
the guide from Allah SWT, and easily
without guilty astray from His orders
by following the most wanted victim
of the Hell (Syaitan) via an excitement
of Nafs. The caused of disunity, is
exactly the leading factors of the
devastation in the Muslim world. This
shall be cleansing the hardest effort
of al-kufar to intimidate them just
because of disunity and no cooperation
among all Muslims. Realistically, they
supposed to use an advantage of the
strength ‘manpower’ as
taught by Jamaluddin al-Afghani previously
in India to enhance unification among
them. According to Jamal, “If
the strength all of you (million of
you) are as fly which had been flying
around the ears of the English, definitely
you will successful devastate their
ears.”
5. Strength futility of Spiritual;
The most crucial element of humans that
had been neglected by them is their
spiritual. Allah SWT very pleased,
to give them a life from His Roh (spirit).
As mentioned by Allah, “When
I have fashioned him (in due proportion)
and breathed into him of My spirit,
fall ye down in obeisance unto him.”(Al-Hijr:
29).Nonetheless, the spirit of Allah
gifted to them have been disregarded.
They are mostly attracted to the materialistic
and the joyously of this world with
no fear to the judgement of God. An
academic curriculum introduced by them
unable to translate the meaning of ‘Rabbaniyah’ into
their spirit. This is accurately described
by Muhammad Iqbal as he says that,” Modern
schools today, may educate lots of
knowledge to our young generation,
but it does not teach the eyes how
to cry and the heart to be ‘khusyu’.
They are criticizing the religion,
which is exactly spirit of them and
the secret of servant ness, and peculiarity
of them. In fact, they are attracting
to the beauty of pattern rather then
the chastity of heart. Instead, the
main mission of the religion is to
purify the heart.” As He said
in the Quran,” Truly he succeeds
that purifies it, and he fails that
corrupts it” (Al-Shams: 9-10).If
there is purification of heart, the ‘islah’ or
changes will take place and indirectly
society will reform onwards. This will
lead to the goodness, if they really
change in effort to acquire the blessing
from Allah. This is because “Allah
will never change one’s community
until they change it on their own” (Ar-Ra’d:
11)
As a form of analyzing the weaknesses,
all Muslims must be noted that they have
to use the entire special gift given
by Allah SWT wisely, in looking for His
blessing and kindliness of worldly and
hereafter. All of the weaknesses have
been exposing to the Muslims. From now
onwards, everything depends on brothers
and sisters in ISLAM for further actions,
in curing these symptoms from the infectious
to the Muslims world. May Allah assist
the Muslims towards ensconcing the solidarity
of the Muslim Ummah.
