The U of M Trombone section was 43 members strong last year. There were 7 Rank Lts. for the trombone section. Last year they were Tony Zabel, Mary McPartlin, Matt Pavek, Andrew Staut, Stacy Brake, Amy Ohlgren, and Jeff Turek. The bones take up about 3 and a half ranks in block band.
The 2000 Rank Lts. are: Sean Smith - Asst. Sec. leader, Chad Armbruster - Asst. Sec. Leader, Nick Castonguay - Sec. Leader, Jeff Turek, Stacy Brake, Mary McPartlin, Troy Tatting, Mike Budahn, and Bridget Ehemann.
Last year approximatley 30 bones marched pregame, and all marched halftime. Pre-game alternates help with the B.A.R.F. (Big Ass Representational Flag). Each week before a home game the band holds challenges, where the alternates have a chance at getting into pre-game.
