Friday night rolled around at the end of the week in the middle of the sizzling month of July. Grissom and Catherine were working on a case, one that neither of them wanted to investigate in the first place. When you have to deal with the death of humans who haven't had a chance to reach pubertiy, you know this world is not all it's cracked up to be.
It was near the end of shift. Catherine was anticipating the up coming weekend. She was becoming very agetated sitting in the same seat in the breakroom looking at pictures of the corpse of little Amy O'Hara. This case was tearing her and Grissom from limb to limb. Both of them hated cases involoving kids. Catherine wished the clock would read 7:00 AM in a few seconds instead of 5 minutes.
"Cath, are you doing anything tonight?" Grissom suddenly spoke.
It startled Catherine. There was a new sound in the room, besides the ticking clock on the wall. He didn't even make eye contact, the case was consuming his mind.
"Nothing," She reliped with a sigh. Friday nights weren't as adventerous as they were in her youth, "Why?" Catherine asked taking her eyes off the ticking clock. She looked over at her boss and could see that his face was centimeters away from the photographs.
"I-I was wondering if you wanted to come over - to my house."
Catherine was surprised by this offer. No one, I mean NO ONE ever goes over to Grissoms. It's an anti-socialaists heaven. It was on a rare occasion that she would even step foor into his townhouse full of his creepy crawlers. Usually when her, or any other member of the team went to Grissoms it was to work related. "You're allowing people into your town house? For fun? What have you done with the REAL Gil Grissom."
Gil looked up from the case file and gave Catherine one of his Grissom looks. He was becomming irretated with her sarcasm and did not appreciate being insulted by his best friend. Then again, she did have a point. It was very unlike him to invite anyone over to his place. "Well, I thought you would want to join Sara, Nick, Warrick and Greg. I guess I was wrong."
"Are we all going over to get evaluated or something? Is there a memo about a case that I missed?" Catherine asked crossing her legs. This limited time offer was becoming weirder and weirder.
"No, I just want to have my co-workers over for a little get together. Is that such a crime?" Grissom asked removing his glasses and rubbing the bridge of his nose. He had been wearing his reading glasses for an extended period of time that they left little indentations. That proves how long they had been looking at this case file.
"It is if you're Gilbert Grissom. What made you become so social all of a sudden? I mean don't get me wrong, I want to come and all and I love this new side of you, but what took so long for it to come out?"
"I'm just trying something new every week, and this week it's socializing with something that doesn't have wings."
Catherine smiled at her bosses mild humour. This was going to be one interesting night. She eyed him seeing if this was some sort of pratical joke that he' s playing on her to get back at something. It's July so it can't be April fools, so maybe this is ligit. "I'll come," Catherine said with a smug smile on her face. "I just want to see what is going to happen at this little get together you have planned for us." she said and figitting in her chair.
"Thanks for the support Cath, I really appreciate it." Gil said and went back to his case file, "You know, it is possible for people to change."
"I know, but it takes like, forever to get you to do one thing, let alone change completly. I mean this, this is a BIG change."
"I know, and you don't have to keep reiterating it to me, it's a big change I get it. Actually, to be honest, you're the only one who has made such a big deal about it. None of the other's wanted to rant about this so called big change. I think you have a problem."
"Me? I have a problem?" Catherine said taken aback by this accusation. "Has someone slipped you something in a drink? Are you mad? Yes I may have some authority issues, if you say so, but at least I have a social life. I mean you are like the poster child for hermets, what the hell made you change! If you answer that one simple question, I promise I will stop bothering you." Catherine proposed giving him the two finger salute. "Scouts honour".
Grissom didn't know how to respond. Of course he wanted his best friend to stop hounding him about his 'big' movement from his hermetically sealed condo to the outside world. It was embarrassing for her to be making a big deal about this, it was just suppose to be a little get together of him and his co-workers. Now it's some big science experiment to see how long Grissom will stay sane with people invading his personal bubble. Now he knew what mice in a maze felt like. "It's just a small gathering of puplis I work with. You don't have to make it into some big science experiment and start investigating my personal life." Grissom replied trying his best to avoid answering the question.
"Fine, since I know you're just going to keep on avoiding the question like that I'll drop it." Catherine replied and it went silent for a few seconds. Both of them staring at one another. "Now, what time is this little 'get together' taking place?" she asked leaning back in her chair. She looked up at the clock and saw that it was seven. Now she was going to be late getting home.
"Five would be great, I mean I think that's when we are going to meet at my house. You can bring snacks and if you have your own specific type of alcohol you like to consume. I mean that's if you want." Grissom said with a bit of shakiness in his voice. It was obvious he had never done this before.
"You mean you haven't decided on a time for us all to meet up at your house?" Catherine puzzled and sighed. "Grissom, Grissom, Grissom. How could you not do that. That's get together rule number one, everyone has to know when to meet up or there will be no get together."
Grissom smiled, "I was just kidding," he stated and Catherine gave him an evil glare, "Come on Cath, you don't think I'm THAT socailly inept do you?"
"Well...yeah," she replied with a smile.
"Just come to my house at five with what ever drinks and snacks you want to bring. Don't worry, by the end of the night I'll be a new socailly active Grissom"
"That's what I'm afraid of," Catherine got up to leave the breakroom. She had to get home before Eddie was coming to pick up Lindsey or she could be paying another vist to Child Services for neglect.
As Catherine was walking towards the locker rooms she could see Sara, Nick, Warrick and Greg all huddled in the DNA lab. They were all talking about something and it was making her uncomfortable. It was highly unusual to see them all huddled in the DNA lab when it was past the end of shift. Catherine had a feeling that those guys were thinking up a plan to some how sabatoge Grissom's first get together. I mean, yeah if she was asked she would join in, in a heart beat. However, when she is left out of the loop, she is a little suspicious on what those chicklings have in store for Grissom, and maybe even herself.
She glanced over at the bradybunch and met eye contact with Greg. It was brief, since he looked right back down when there eyes met. That was unlike Greg. He was never distant like that to her. That was when she knew for sure something was up, and she would get to the bottom of it. Either at the party or before.
"Okay she's gone, you want to go ask Griss what went down?" Greg whispered looking back at the group.
"Okay, let's go and get this over with. I need to go home and get some shut eye." Sara replied and they all filed out of the small lab.
Warrick, Sara, Nick and Greg strolled down the hallway heading into the breakroom. Grissom was trapped in the world of crime. He was still staring at the case file of Amy O'Hara, even after shift had finished. Today was not the ideal day to be taking some overtime. He had a party to plan for five or six people. Depending if Catherine said yes or no.
"Hey Griss, tough case?" Warrick said taking over Catherine's seat at the table. He could see the cogs in his brain working doubletime on this case. "Grissom?" he said again, this time catching his attention.
"Huh, when did you guys come in here?" Grissom replied looking up from the jumbled of letters and numbers on the page.
"Just a few seconds ago," Nick replied with a smirk, "So what did she say?" he pondered, trying his best to get the answer out of him.
"What did who say?"
Sara rolled her eyes, "Catherine! What did Catherine say? Is she coming or not?" Sara asked beginning to get impatient. She needed to get home from work as fast as possible to sleep and get ready for the party later on.
"Calm down Sara, she said yes. She'll be there at five tonight"
"Aw man, I lost another bet!" Nick said and removed his wallet, "Here you go Sara here's your twenty and War and yours too Greggo." The three of them smiled at their new found wealth.
"What bet did you loose this time Nick?" Grissom asked as he collected his papers and stood up. The other four followed suit.
"We bet that Catherine would agree to come to your house tonight," Greg said.
"Well Nick, you were looking to be caught on that one." Everyone laughed, including Nick. "I'll see you guys tonight." Grissom said and exited the room.
He headed towards the locker rooms, catching a glimpse of Catherine leaving. She turned her head towards her boss and waved bye as she walked out towards reception to clock out. Grissom waved back and continued on down towards the lockers. He was completly unaware of the rest of his team catching the exchange between their two older collegues. Grissom had to admit, he was a little nervous about the get together he was going to be having. He needed Catherine's expertise, she always threw parties at her house for him and the rest of the team. She must know some party secrets. The only thing is, he wants to prove that he isn't as socially inept as she believes. I guess this party will either be a hit or miss.
The four musketeers looked at one another. They saw the exchange between Catherine and Grissom. Of course, it was more obvious on Catherine, considering she was looking in there direction. There was no way the look in her eyes was a mere conquincidence. That was pure emotion, maybe even, dare to say, love. Of course everyone knows that the two of them had always had a 'thing'. They have just been too scared to express it to one another. However, tonight was going to be the perfect opportuinty, and the others will do anything, ANYTHING to get the two of them hooked up.
The four of them all had grins plastered on their faces, almost as creepy as a clowns painted on smile. They waited until Grissom entered the locker room before bursting into laughter.
"A twenty says that Griss and Cath make out by the end of the night." Greg proposed as he pulled out the twenty he just got from Nick.
"I think Warrick's betting habit is rubbing off on you Greg." Nick snickered as Warrick punched him in the shoulder.
"Now boys," Sara said and smiled, "I'm in!" and pulled out her twenty as well waving it in the air.
"I'll take that bet." the guys said in unison. Warrick stopped. His hand was still in his wallet. "Wait, I'll counter bet you that they will run off to Grissom's room for some alone time." he offered. Every one looked at each other.
"Alright, you're on" they said and all sealed the deal with spit filled hand shakes.
"I heard that!" Grissom's voice boomed from inside the locker room.
The new voice startled the foursome. That was when they realized they were beside the locker room, and discussing there confedental betting schemes. They all shut their mouths, scurrying past the room and out to their Tahoe's.
They were out in the parking lot when Sara thought of a bright idea. Something that would make this whole scheme alot more fun, and bring it to a whole new level. "Guys," she said and they all stopped turing their attention to Sara. "I have an idea,"
"Oh, what kind of idea?" Greg asked with a wink.
"Not like that sicko, I want to up the stakes on these bets."
"What are you thinking Sidle?" Nick asked with a smirk. He knew his younger female collegue too well, she had a plan up her sleave.
"We try to do everything in our power to make them do what we want. I mean anything. The first one to get them hooked up gets the pot." she stressed and smiled. "You guys in?" she prosed spitting in her hand and extending it out to the guys.
"HELL YEAH!" they all shouted and exchanged spit filled handshakes for a second time.
This was going to be one interesting get together.
Catherine opened her eyes, waking up from her afternoon nap. She sat up, running her fingers through her hair and came to conclusion that she should take a shower before heading over to Grissoms. Catherine threw the covers off of her, knowing that Lindsey was now off at Eddie's and she didn't have to worry about waking her. She turned on some music and began to undress while walking towards the bathroom. When she was just about to step into the steaming shower her phone rang. Catherine sighed, as she hung her head in irritation. She wrapped a towel around her body and stomped into her bedroom grabbing the cordless that was discarded on the floor.
"Hello," Catherine said. She held the phone with one ear and the towel with the other.
"Cath, it's Sara." the woman replied, "I hope I didn't wake you or anything."
"No, no it's okay. What's up?"
"I was wondering if you were bringing anything to drink?"
"Yeah I'm bringing some Singapore Sling mix"
"Singapore Sling?"
"Yeah, it's a tropical drink, like a shirley temple but with liquor. What are you bringing?" Catherine asked. She walked back into the bathroom and removed the towel that was hanging loosely on her body.
"Oh cool, I'll definatly have to try that tonight. I'm just bringing some beer. I'll see you at five! Bye" Sara replied and hung up.
"Bye," Catherine said and threw the phone on the towel.
Ten minuets later Catherine walked back into the bedroom wrapped in the same towel and her hair dripping wet. She walked over to her closet and opened the big doors. There were so many clothes that she could open her own store. Now she just needed to find the perfect outfit for this evening. Catherine was scanning her clothes noticing that most of them where black and pink. She made a mental note to go and find some other coloured clothes the next time she's at the mall.
This was a special night. She didn't want to go to classy, or to plain. She also did not want to look twenty or the forty year old woman she was. That was when her eyes fell upon her favourite cocktail dress. It was of course black but she loved how the fabric felt against her skin. Catherine pulled it out of the closet and inspected the sheer fabric in the light. It was spaghetti strapped, like everything else she owned. However, tonight she wasn't going to be wearing anything over top to hide the bare shoulders. Everyone's respectful adults; well with the exception of Greg.
Catherine smiled as she gently laid the dress down on the bed and walked back into the bathroom to dry her hair and apply her makeup. Thirty minuets later she was ready to party. Her dress fit snug on her frame and her hair was pulled back into a messy bun with her bangs hanging down in front of her eyes. Her hair was in it's natural curl, for she decided it would be too much work to straighten it. The make-up surrounding her eyes distinguished her facial feaures elegently. It wasn't too dark to be goth and wasn't too light to not be noticed. The colours she used were blues and browns, along with some black eye liner. She was quite proud of her appreaence when she looked at herself in the mirror. This is the Catherine party animal Willows.
It was quarter to five, meaning if she left now she would make it to Grissom's five minuets early. There's no harm in being the first one there. Even if you know that your co-workers are brewing up something that may or may not involve you. Catherine grabbed her mix off the counter, her purse and keys. She slipped on her stelleto heels and headed out to her car. It had been a while since she was hopping into this Tahoe to go somewhere other than work. Working over time, and crime becoming the new fad in this town has worn her out. It was about time that she had a fun night just hanging out with the rest of the team.
She opened the truck door, catching a glimpse of her noisy neighbour. Mrs. Applegate always looked after her house when she was working the graveyard shift. She knew that Lindsey was either home alone or at Eddie's, and an extra pair of eyes would help catch the robbers. Catherine flashed a smile at the elderly widow and the woman smiled back. It was obvious she was looking at the dress Catherine was wearing. Not her usual work attire.
Catherine started the engine and revved it for a few moments. She then put it in reverse and backed out of the driveway, turning left and flooring it down the road. It was a good ten minuet drive to Grissom's town house, and now that she had spent five minuets getting situated in the truck, she would be there right on time. That is if traffic isn't heavy. When she pulled to a hault at a red light, she flipped down the mirror above her and applied the ruby red lipstick she forgot to put on at the house. She smothed the colour over her lips and puckered them a few times. Now her lips stood out among her white complexion. When the light changed she continued on her way down to Gil's.
Since traffic was promising she reached his townhouse in exactly ten minuets. Catherine pulled into the driveway behind Gil's Tahoe and noticed she was the first one there. She didn't mind. Actually, she was sort of glad it was that way. No surprises for her when she enters the townhouse, unless Gil had forgot to mention something in the break room.
Catherine turned off her truck and hopped out, clutching her Singapore Sling mix in her hands. She shut the door, locking it, and headed up the front walk. Catherine rung the doorbell and patiently waited for an answer. The door opened moments later and Gil was standing there in kaki pants and a dress shirt. It was obvious he was still trying to get ready for everyone, it looked like he's having time issues.
"Hey Cath, nice to see you." Gil said with a smile. He tried to stay concentrated on her face and not the dress. "Oh, what's that you brought?" he asked as he stepped aside allowing his collegue to enter.
"Hey Griss, it's Singapore Sling mix." Catherine replied and stepped inside the townhouse's foyer.
She had been to this townhouse on numerous occasions, actually she might be the only member of the team who has been here on a social occasion instead of work. Catherine put her purse down on the small table beside the door and removed her shoes. She was only wearing them for fifteen minuets and already her feet were throbbing. She never will understand how some women can wear them all day. Catherine felt the cold tiles of Grissom's floor on the soles of her feet. Surprisingly it felt good. She admired all the paintings on the walls and the bug collections mounted everywhere. Bach was playing from in the living room, as she could hear the violins and viola's getting louder as she progressed through the hall. Nothing about this house was ever out of place, and it was always so tidy and spacious. She wondered how a man could live with such order. Especially, when his desk at work was a disaster.
Catherine entered the kitchen that was definatly a man's kitchen. The counter tops and island in the middle all were black marble. All of the appliances were stainless steel, and there was no hint of femine touch. Actually Catherine wondered if any women had stepped foot in here besides herself. She placed the drink mix on the counter and walked over to the fridge. At first she was a bit apprehencive about opening the fridge. For all she knew there could be some creppy crawlers. Or worse, a science experiment.
"You want anything?" Gil's voice came from behind startling Catherine.
"Geeze Gil, you almost gave me a heart attack." Catherine replied and looked at her friend. He was more concentrated on her clevage then her face. "Grissom, you know it's not very host like to be looking down your guests dress." she stated, catching his attention.
"I-I uh, I didn't-" Gil mumbled and blushed as he looked away from Catherine. "What do you want to drink?" he asked staring at the counter top.
"I was going to mix myself a Singapore Sling" Catherine opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water, and the vodka. "I just needed to grab my ingredients." she replied and closed the fridge door. That was when she saw George, Grissom's pet spider. "Ew, Grissom! What is George doing on the counter?" she shreiked.
"Don't worry, he's harmless,"
"You know how much I hate spiders, they're creepy crawly critters that are hairy and urgh! I just don't like them!" Catherine shivered at the thought of them crawling on her skin.
Grissom stared at Catherine, who was now using a seperate counter. He watched her mix herself a Singapore Sling. Gil walked over to the oppoosite counter where George was crawling around aimlessly and picked him up. Catherine wasn't paying any attention to her host and was pouring the vodka into the glass with the mix. Grissom came up behind her and placed the spider on her shoulder. Catherine could feel something on her shoulder, at first thinking it was Grissom's hand. When she looked over she met eye to eye with the hairy beast. Catherine screamed dropping the bottle of vodka on the floor and slamming into the counter. Grissom had never seen someone freak out over spiders so much. He watched as she began jumping around, trying her best to avoid the broken glass on the floor.
Just then Sara and Greg had pulled into the driveway noticing Catherine's Tahoe. They looked at each other, and decided to start the fun without Warrick and Nick. The two of them headed up the front walk and stopped when they could hear Catherine and Gil's voice coming from inside.
"Grissom get George off me!" Catherine shrieked.
"Well stay still for a second and I will," he replied.
"You're liking this aren't you?"
"Very much."
"Yeah...maybe I'm starting to get used to it.
At that moment Sara and Greg, who were stiffling a laugh rang the doorbell. They wanted to see what was happening, more than hear it through a door. A few seconds later Catherine flung open the door, as Grissom was preoccupied with the spider. Catherine saw the looks on Sara and Greg's faces and knew they were laughing.
"I know you heard, and before you think of something sick,' Catherine shifted her glance to Greg. "That means you Greg, Grissom put a spider on my shoulder." Catherine said as she let them in.
"Yeah, I'm sure..." Greg said rolling his eyes. All of a sudden he got a hard punch in the arm from Catherine. "Hey what was that for?"
"For having the mind of a teenager." Catherine said and shut the door stomping back into the kitchen to grab her drink. One that she needed really bad at the moment. "Some of your guest are here host." Catherine replied passing by Grissom and plopped down on the couch.
Grissom left the flustered Catherine and went to the front foyer to greet Sara and Greg. "Hey guys, I see you brought beer Sara, thats great." Catherine could hear Gil's voice from the living room as she was sucking back her Singapore sling.
Moments later Greg, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt that said "I'm so hot the devil spit me back up to earth" strolled into the room. Sara joined him wearing a cocktail dress that was light blue and low at the clevage. Now Catherine didn't feel so awkward in a dress. The young members of the team took there seats respectfully and smiled at Catherine.
"What would you two like to drink?" Gil asked every once and a while glancing over at Catherine. "Man Cath, you down those things like water." he commented seeing that her glass was already almost empty. Catherine shrugged and finished the delcious drink.
"I'll have what Catherine's drinking." Sara proposed and nudged Greg seeing that he was concentrated on Catherine's low cut dress. "Hey flyboy, what you want?" that grabbed his attention.
"Beer." Greg stated and Sara slapped him on the back, "I mean, a beer please." he corrected himself and smiled at Sara.
"I'll grab them Griss," Catherine said and got up off the couch almost falling over. "I know I'm not the host, but I want to get a refill on my Singapore." Catherine replied and made her way back to the kitchen.
"Little tipsy there Cath?" Greg snickered and gasped when Catherine flipped him the bird. "Little miss prissy seems to be-"
"Greg, don't even think about finishing that sentence." Grissom warned and Sara couldn't help but laugh.
Catherine was mixing the two Singapore Slings, one for herself and the other for Sara. She heard the doorbell and watched as Grissom walked down the hallway and smiled at her in the kitchen. She smiled back as she pulled the beer out of the fridge and snapped off the cap for Greg. Nick and Warrick's booming voices filled the hallway.
"LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!" Nick screamed and saw Catherine in the kitchen. Well, her dress caught his attention more than her. "Whoa, Catherine, woofwoof!" He said and began to howl like a dog.
"Don't flatter your self Nick, no one said you were going to get any." Catherine replied and Nick laughed. "While I'm slaving away in the kitchen, would you two like anything to drink?" she offered pulling out a serving tray from the cupboard.
"Yeah, a beer for me." Warrick said.
"Me too!"
"Alright, two beers coming up,"
Grissom came back into the kitchen from the living room. "Sara said she wanted to talk to you outside for a second," Gil said and picked up George.
"I'll go talk to her in a second," Catherine said and turned around. She shrieked again which hurt Grissom's eardrums. "I would be more comfortable around Peter Parker than SpiderMan." Catherine replied.
"Hey! Don't you two be doing anything funky in there!" Nick called and Catherine growled. She grabbed his beer and went to the sink.
She poured the whole beer down the drain and grabbed the lemonade out of the fridge. Grissom watched as Catherine poured the lemonade in the beer bottle. "You know that is very childish," he replied and watched her put the beer on the tray and picked it up, balancing it on one hand.
"And his last comment wasn't?" Catherine snapped and smiled. "Now, if you excuse me, it's time to play waitress." and she left out of the kitchen with Grissom trailing behind.
Catherine strutted into the living room, still balancing the tray on her hand and administered the drinks to the group. She snickered as she handed Nick his beer and then placed the tray on the table, taking her drink. She sat back on the couch and sipped her cocktail, watching Nick and waiting to see his reaction.
"Wow, this is some good stuff Cath. I think I'll buy some of this mix the next time I'm out." Sara said and smiled. She just kept slurping her drink, savouring every moment, feeling like she was on a tropical island.
Nick took a sip of his beer and spit it all over the place. "What the hell is this!" Nick asked as he stood up and looked at Grissom and Catherine. He saw the smirk on her face as she was drinking her Singapore and his eyes filled wit rage. "YOU! You beernatcher! You put lemonade in this!" Nick screamed and was about to pound her when Grissom intervened.
"Nick! Don't you even think about hitting Catherine!" Grissom boomed and everyone went silent. "Don't you think you deserved that after your last comment you made about Catherine and I?"
Nick sat back down and mumbled a yes. Grissom turned his attention to Catherine as she was quietly sipping her drink and smirking. "Now that you've had your revenge, you can go and get Nick a real beer."
"But Grissom-" Catherine whinned and stopped when she saw Gil's look. "Fine! I'll get the baby his damn beer!" Catherine pouted and stomped back into the kitchen. She came back a few moments later with a fresh beer. "Here you go," she said pushing the liquor into his hands.
"I don't trust you," Nick replied with a grin.
"What! Urgh! Come on Nick, would I stiff a friend twice?" Catherine stated as everyone watched the two of them. "Look if it will make you feel any better I'll take a sip first," Catherine said and downed some of the beer. "There, satisfied?"
"No, I want Grissom to taste it," Nick said.
"Fine! If it will get this over and done with, I'll have Grissom taste it for you, you big baby." Catherine handed Gil the bottle of beer as he apprehensivly took a sip. "Is it beer Grissom?" she asked wanting to sit and not play waitress. Gil nodded in approval.
"Okay, I trust Gil, give me the beer." Nick said and Catherine gladly handed over the liquor. "Thank-you, thank-you very much." and he downed the beer.
"Well, now that that's all settled, why don't we play a game?" Greg suggested.
"Ok, what game?" Sara asked. She looked at Grissom. "What games do you have Griss?"
"What about Monopoly?" Warrick butted in.
"Sure, but one of the rules for Monopoly is we have to make a bet, it's tradition, right Rick?" Nick said as he elbowed Warrick in the abdomen. Catherine caught the hand off, but decided to keep her mouth shut.
"That's right! What's the bet going to be?"
"This bet will please the guys, Catherine and Sara have to dress as belly dancers on Monday at work." Greg suggested.
"We'll take that bet!" Catherine replied and Sara smiled in agreement. "But, what if you guys loose? What can we make you do?" Catherine asked, poundering for the best idea. "You guys have to...strip for us!"
"Should have seen that one coming." Greg mumbled and Nick and Warrick snickered.
"Something funny over there guys?" Catherine asked, eyeing the three men. The only one silent in the room was the host. I guess his socializing idea was being put on hold.
"Nothing," the three of them replied at the same time.
"You guys are going down!" Sara replied as Grissom got up to get the game.
"Let the games begin," Nick replied and smiled.
Catherine and Sara had decided to step outside for a second while the men were setting up the game. Both women stood in the cool desert breeze, listening to the brickering of the men about who was going to be the little dog piece. Each of them had a drink in hand, and Sara, trying to quit her filthy habit, was smoking a cigarette. Catherine had never seen Sara physically smoke, however she knew about her friends killer habit.
"You wanted to talk to me?" Catherine said leaning against the door. She watched as her younger collegue took a few more puffs on her smoke and blew them up into the sky.
"The guys are planning on getting you and Grissom hooked up." she stated and sucked back some more of the cancer stick.
Catherine smiled, having an idea that something like this was going to happen at this small get together. Nothing could be simple to them boys in there, and Grissom, well he was oblivious to everything. "Why are you telling me this?" Catherine asked. She was a bit suspicious on Sara's plans.
"Well I have an idea-" Sara said and smiled as she threw the cigarette on the ground and smushsed it with her high-heel.
"I'm listening."
"HEY! I wanted to be the thimble! You said I could be the thimble!" Nick yelled as he snatched the thimble out of Greg's hand. "You thimble snatcher!"
"Can't you guys just get along, I mean it's just a game." Gil said as he administered the money out to each of the men and setting aside two piles for the girls. "I wonder what those two girls are talking about?"
"Afraid that one of them is talking trash about you Griss?" Warrick said as he looked over the money, "You know, I think it would be cool if we had different coloured money. Then we could tell apart our one's from our five's"
"Yeah, and pink fives's would be amazing!" Greg stated and tried to get the thimble back from Nick, "Come on Nick I called the thimble first." he whinned.
"Why don't you rock, paper, scissors it?" Warrick suggested.
The two men looked at one another and shrugged. That would be one way to settle this dispute over a game piece. Just then the two women walked back into the room, both with empty glasses, and smiles on their faces. They took there seats on the couch and watched as Nick and Greg were going to go head to head over a small metal thimble.
"Alright, ready...one, two, three!" Warrick called and both men showed what they had.
"In your face Nick! Scissors beats paper!" Greg howled jumping up and down on the chair. Catherine and Sara couldn't hold back there laughs building in there throats as Warrick covered his eyes from Greg's bad dancing.
"I have never seen someone so happy over a thimble before," Sara managed to say in between bursts of giggles. "Greg, you sure are one of a kind."
"Well, now that we are all here, I guess we should start this game," Gil said trying to change the subject. He moved foward on the couch and closer to Catherine. He accidently touched her hand and felt her ice cold skin, "Cath, you're freezing." he whispered.
"Yeah, I was outside, remember." she replied and rubbed her hands together to warm them up. "It is night and we do live in a desert."
"Do you want Gil to warm you up?" Greg said and gave a smirk towards the two of them. Just then a pillow hit him square in the face and everyone started laughing. "You're lucky I didn't have a drink, or you would have been dead."
"I just realized that we have more people than we go game pieces." Nick said and looked up at Greg, "I think someone needs to partner up with someone else for this game. Whoes it going to be?"
"I'll pair up with Griss," Cathereine voluntered, and grabbed her pile of money. She looked at everyone else seeing that the room had gone dead silent. "What?" she questioned.
"Nothing, um thats a great idea," Warrick said and took a sip of beet. "Let us begin.
The group had been playing Monopoly for two hours and Catherine and Grissom had gone bankrupt. Nick was down to his last pink five dollar bill, and Warrick had no money, but kept exchanging property for some. The only two who had a chance of winning were Sara and Greg. Sara, had a mit full of money, however not much property. Greg on the other hand, didn't have much money, but tons of property. It was all up to Sara for her and Catherine not to dress as Belly dancers at work on Monday and it rested on Greg's shoulders for the guys not to strip.
"Griss, can I talk to you for a second?" Catherine asked. They were sitting on the couch watching the intense game of monopoly.
"Sure," Gil said as he turned towards his almost drunk collegue and smiled. "What is-"
"In private please," she interrupted and Gil was quizzed. "Your room should be fine right?" she asked. At that comment, Nick and Warrick's ears perked.
"Um, yeah, sure," Gil said and got up, helping Catherine to her feet and walking down the hallway towards Gil's room.
Nick and Warrick watched as the two left and listened for the door to slam shut, "Okay Sara, tell us what you and Catherine were talking about outside?" Nick asked.
Sara looked up from the board and shrugged. "Nothing really, just girl stuff." she replied and figitted with her money.
"No way, you can't pull the wool over my eyes Sidle, something went down between the two of you, and we want to know what." Warrick chimed in and rolled the dice.
"Okay, I'll tell you, but you have to promise you won't tell Catherine, or she'll flip. Promise?"
"Yeah, yeah we promise, now what did she say?" Greg asked earger to hear the news.
"Okay, Catherine confessed that she has a thing for Grissom." Sara stated and rolled the dice for her turn, "However, she's not sure on how she should go about getting the two of them together."
"You're serious? She told you that?" Nick asked. His jaw hung open.
"No word of a lie, Catherine wants to get together with Grissom. I guess our plan, has some meaning now."
"Oh, I think we can help them hook up." Nick said and gave Greg his five. "I'm going to check on the lovebirds right now," he said and got up. Warrick followed suit. "Good luck guys, with this." he said as they tiptoed down the hall.
"GUYS! YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE ME HERE!" Greg whinned and Sara glared at him. "I know, I probably ruined it," he replied and concentrated more on the game. He blew on the dice as he threw then on the board. "Sara you are so going down!" Greg threatened, mopving his timble five spaces.
"I'm not going down without a fight." Sara replied and smiled at him.
"I just wanted to let you know Gil," Catherine said as they were sitting on the bed in his room. It was the first time she had ever been in his room. She could hear Greg's shouts and had an idea. "Gil, could you do something for me?" she asked seductivly licking her lips.
"Um, sure, anything..." Gil replied, unsure of her plans.
The two men quietly tip toed down the hallway towards the bedroom door hearing moans. They glanced at each other and smiled as they pressed their ears to the door. They couldn't hear anything, it was all muffled. Nick then got an idea and ran into the kitchen passing by Greg and Sara who were fighting over the only piece of propery left and grabbed a glass. Nick then ran back to Warrick and handed it to him.
"Good thinking mate." Warrick replied and placed the the cup against the door. Now he could hear everything.
"Grissom, Grissom they'll hear us." Catherine mumbled.
"No they won't, they're to involved in that game of Monopoly" Grissom replied.
"Nick, they are so going to do it" Warrick whispered and Nick covered his mouth as he began to laugh.
"Oh Grissom, yes right there, yes, uh huh"
"Catherine, your skin is so soft...you my hand higher or lower?"
"No right there, thats the spot, ooh yeah"
"I can't take it any longer, I have to check this out," Warrick said and grabbed the door handle. He turned the knob and swung it open. "GOTCHA!" Nick and Warrick screamed but then frowned.
Catherine was laid back on the bed while Gil was sitting on the edge of the bed still fully clothed but massaging Catherine's feet. Warrick and Nick stood in the doorway with big frowns on their faces hoping to catch them in the act. Catherine and Grissom couldn't help but burst out laughing knowing what they were thinking.
"But...you..." Nick mumbled as he scratched his head. He was confused.
"Sorry to disappoint you guys, nothing worth writting home about." Catherine said and smiled at Grissom, "Thanks for the massage it was quite...enjoyable." she replied and gave him a kiss on the cheek before swinging her legs off the bed and stumbling to her feet. She pushed past Warrick and Nick and headed back out to the living room to catch the end of the Monopoly game.
Grissom was staring at the door as the images of Nick and Warrick disappeared. He was on his own little cloud nine thinking about Catherine, and what they could be doing right now-alone. Nothing could make this dream any better, unless it were real.
"Earth to Grissom, anybody there?" Nicky playfully said as he waved his hand in front of Gil's face.
"Huh,sorry," Grissom said and coughed, "What were you two doing at the door?" he asked, remembering that he was now back in reality.
"Well um-" Warrick started to say but then Nick interrupted him.
"We made this bet to see if you guys were uh, and we heard you, and it sounded like, and well, I'm sorry Griss." Nick tried to explain as his face got beat red.
The two guys were waiting for a lecture from their boss about betting and invading peoples privacy, but it never came. Instead they watched as Grissom's stern face turned into a smile and then he started to laugh. Warrick and Nick were confused, had there boss had too much to drink?
"Um, Griss, you okay?" Warrick questioned.
"You should of seen your faces when you stumbled in here, it was priceless!" Gil replied in between fits of laughter.
Nick and Warrick shrugged their shoulders and decided to join in on the laughing.
"I WIN!! HA! IN YOUR FACE SIDLE!" The boys heard from the bedroom. The three of them left the bedroom and ran into the living room to check it out. Greg was dancing around in his little victory dance and Sara had a look on her face, as if she was about to kill him. Catherine was laughing as she was holding a beer in her hands.
"It looks like you two are going to be belly dancers on Monday." Grissom said, as he watched Greg's preform his horrible moves he considers dancing.
"Yeah, Yeah, you guys win you get to live out your fantasies. Lets play another game, with out bets, what about truth or dare?" Sara suggested.
"Oh, it looks like we have a sore looser here." Nick replied and Warrick snickered. That was when a pillow hit him smack in the face. "Hey who threw that?" Both Catherine and Sara pointed at one another and began to laugh. Warrick chucked it back hitting Catherine as she split the beer on the floor.
"Good one Warrick." she slurred as she tried to pat it dry with the pillow, "This doesn't seem to be working." she commented, and everyone laughed.
"I'll go get some paper towels," Gil said and went back into the kitchen to grab a roll.
"I think you have had enough to drink tonight missy," Greg said as he grabbed the beer bottle, ready to take it, but she wouldn't let go. "Come on Cath, let go of the bottle." he said in a childish voice.
"NO!" Catherine pouted and gave Greg a her puppy eyes. "You're not my mother, you can't tell me when to stop, I know when I've had enough, and I haven't yet!" she protested as Greg ended up prying the bottle from her hands during her rant. She didn't seem to notice.
"Whatever you say Catherine, whatever you say,"
Gil came back into the living room and knelt down on the floor cleaning up the beer before it stained the carpet. Catherine watched as Gil cleaned up the mess and realized that he could look up her dress if he turned his head slightly away from the floor. It seemed that everyone realized the same thing, and just waited to see if Gil would try to take a peek.
"So Griss, you in for Truth or dare?" Sara asked as she smiled at the boys as they all waited to see what would happen next.
"What?" Gil said as he turned his head to face Sara and came face to face with Catherine's pink underwear under her dress. "Oh my god, Catherine I am so sorry." Gil tried to appologize and bashed his head off the top of the coffeetable that Catherine's legs were resting on. "Damn it!" he screamed and everyone laughed, except for Catherine.
"Oh poor baby, you have a booboo, let me kiss it all better." Catherine said as she seperated her legs and grabbed Gil's head bringing it up to her level. She smiled and gave him a peck on the head "There all better!" she exclaimed and then started laughing. Gil's face was as red as a beat.
"Um, thanks, Cath..."Gil whispered and quickly got out of the position he was in and went back to the kitchen to grab an ice pack.
"So Gil, what colour are Catherine's undies!" Nick barked and everyone bursted into laughter again.
"WHY DON'T YOU GET DOWN THERE AND SEE FOR YOUR SELF!" Gil called from the kitchen and eveyone stopped laughing. That was not the answer they were expecting.
Everyone was silent until Gil re-entered the room with an ice pack on the back of his head. They all sat down, and waited for someone to say the first words. "So, are we playing Truth or Dare or what? Because I want to make some people in this room, do some pretty nasty stuff." Catherine replied. There was another moment of silence, and then everyone started laughing. Including Grissom.
"Alright, Who starts?" Greg asked.
"I will!" Sara volunteered and smiled at Catherine. Time for some fun Sara thought and took a sip of her Singapore Sling.
"Truth, dare, double dare, triple doggie dare, promise to repeat on Warrick" Sara said whipping her head around to her collegue.
"I choose...dare" Warrick replied as he took a mouth full of beer.
"Alright I dare you to do some dirty dancing with Catherine." She had a big smile across her face; she knew this was the perfect thing to get this party started.
"Sounds like my kind of dancing," Catherine replied and winked at Warrick as she stood up, stumbling a bit and walked over to the empty space behind the couch.
Warrick literally jumped to his feet, to attened his lady in waiting. He could smell the liquor on her breath as he grabbed her waist and moved her closer to his body. This was what he was talking about.
"Let me choose the song!" Greg said as her went over to the CD player and looked through Grissom's CD collection.
The song Slow by Kylie Minogue began to play on the stereo. As the music played both Catherine and Warrick began moving to the beat. Catherine began snaking her way down Warrick's body, running her fingers over his muscular chest. Warrick winked at Nick as he was hooting and hollering at the two. Catherine seemed to be the one doing all the moves as she then rubbed her bare legs against his and throwing her head back, moaning with pleasure. Warrick just laughed at his collegue and decided that he was do some moves too.
He moved his hands along her dress, moving it up slowly and running his hands across her thighs. None of this seemed to bother Catherine, as he moved his hand furhter up, tracing her back and then back down to her butt. The song then ended and Warrick and Catherine looked at each other, beginning to laugh.
The only one who wasn't so happy about the dance was Grissom. He was somewhat jealous, imaging himself up there with Catherine and dancing close to each other, feeling each other...
"Wow Catherine, you have to give me mouth to mouth," Greg said as he was waving his hand in front of his mouth.
Catherine stumbled over to Greg, leaning in on his face as he could smell the liquor coming out of his mouth. She stopped her lips millimeters away from his and smiled, "In you dreams Greggo." she whispered walked over to the couch and plopped down beside Grissom. Almost on top of him, was how close she was.
"That was cold Cath." Greg replied as everyone else was laughing.
"Okay, okay, truth, dare, double dare, triple doggie dare, promise to repeat, on Sara." Warrick said after he caught his breath from laughing so hard.
"I choose truth." Sara replied as she took a sip of her Singapore Sling.
"Okay is it true that you have a tattoo and if it's true what is it and can you show us?" Warrick suggested. He, Nick and Warrick were really anxious to see it ever since she told them she had one at last years Christmas party.
"Yes it's true, it's an angel. I'll show you, it's on my lower back right above my waist line." Sara replied. She lifted of the back of her shirt and pulled her pants down a little bit. There in the middle was a tattoo of an angel.
"Wow Sara, it's beautiful," Catherine remarked. "I have a tattoo too but I can't show you because it's not in an unappropriate place." she said and winked at Grissom.
"Thanks. I got it done when I was eighteen." Sara replied as she pulled up her pants and pulled down her shirt. She then took her seat and finished her Sinapore Sling. "Okay, I choose right, so let me see...truth, dare, double dare, triple doggie dare, promise to repeat on...Greg!" Sara stated.
"I choose...double dare," Greg said, he wasn't afraid of no little dare.
"Okay Greggo I dare you to kiss Catherine, or strip for everyone." Sara said with a smile on her face.
"Well no offence to Catherine but I wouldn't be pleasing both my angels by only kissing one of you so I will strip. I need some room for my act so can you guys make some while I go get ready." Greg said, they all nodded their heads and laughed, Greg left the room and the others got everything ready.
"Hey guys I got an idea" Sara said. "Give me all your singles."
Catherine smiled at Sara's plan she knew what she was thinking. "That's a great idea Sara!" she said as she got up and went over to the counter in the kitchen and grabbed her purse. She came ack moments later and gave Sara all her bills.
Grissom was confused "Why you want my money?"
"Because, we're going to make it like a strip club, if we like him then we give him money." Warrick explained.
"Oh, okay" Grissom said as he gave Sara his bills and so did Nick and Warrick.
"YOU GUYS READY OUT THERE!" Greg called from the bathroom.
"Yep anytime you want Greg!" Nicky called back.
Sara started the music "I like the way you move" by the Bodyrockers was blasting through the speakers as Greg started to walk out of the bathroom. He slowly struted over to the group and started to move his hips to the music. He then went over to Sara and started to unbutton his shirt, one button at a time. Sara couldn't help but laugh but once he got them all undone, he flung off his shirt in one swift movement.
Sara was pleased so she stuck a bill in his pant belt and gave him a smack on the butt as he turned over to the other couch where Catherine was. Everyone bursted out laughing. When Greg reached Catherine he started to take off the pants, first the belt, then the button then he pulled down the zipper. He slowly let them inch down his legs until they got up his ankles. Greg then flung those across the room and was only in his boxers. Catherine hooted and hollered as she put a bill in his boxers.
Greg winked at her and then went back and forth between the two of them dancing to the rest of the music, ignoring the hollers from Nick and Warrick to remove the boxers. Finally the song ended and everyone clapped and hollered as Greg grabbed his pants and shirt and ran off to the bathroom.
"I think it is getting hot in here!" Warrick said fanning his face. Everyone was laughing, including Grissom.
When Greg came back, fully clothed he resumed his seat and took another sip of beer."Okay my choice...truth, dare, double dare, triple doggie dare, promise to repeat on...Nick" Greg said.
"Okay I choose dare," Nicky replied he had to think about that one.
"Okay I dare you to eat four of Grissom's maggots from his collection over there" Greg said. He didn't have to think of that one.
"Alright," Nick said as he stood up. "Grissom is it okay if I eat four out of your like four million you have in the collection?" Nick asked as he approached the maggot farm.
"Sure go ahead" Grissom said and took a sip of beer.
"This is like fear factor man, Greg your sick" Warrick said.
"Alright Greg I'm ready tell me when to start"
"Alright... ready, set, GO!" Greg replied.
Nick grabbed four of the maggots and ate then one by one. The juices from inside of them started squirting everywhere and Sara and Catherine looked like they were about to puke. Finally Nick was finished them and Catherine and Sara had already left to the bathroom to share the toilet to puke in.
"Man, I am not doing that ever again," Nick said as he washed it down with a swig of beer. That was when he noticed that Catherine and Sara were no where to be seen. "Where are the girls?" Nick replied.
"They ran to the bathroom looking like they were going to puke. I'll go check on them." Grissom answered, he got up off the comfortable couch and headed down the hallway towards the bathroom.
Meanwhile in the bathroom, Catherine and Sara were having a private, girl only chat. They then heard a knock on the door that startled them both.
"Yeah," Cath said making it sound like she just finished puking. She took a glass of toilet water and started pouring it back in the toilet making the sound of her and Sara throwing up.
"You girls okay? Nicks finished and we want to get going with the game." Grissom replied from the other side of the door.
"Okay...we'll be out in a second..." Sara moaned flushed the toilet.
Sara and Catherine stood up, Catherine still stumbling a bit. They looked at themselves in the mirror and fixed there hair and Catherine applied some more lipstick that had come off during the night, probably around the glasses of empty Singapore Slings. They looked at each other and smiled as they turned to go out.
Grissom was still standing there, waiting for the girl's to come out. He could hear the men in the living room talking about Fear Factor and about all of the disgusting foods the contestants had to eat. Just then the door flung open as Sara and Catherine stumbled out laughing their heads off.
"What's so funny?" Grissom questioned as he helped Catherine and Sara back up to their feet since they fell on to their knees when leaving the bathroom.
"Nothing," Catherine spit out and leaned in on Gil's ear, "Sara loves me" she whispered and then started laughing again.
Grissom didn't know what the hell was going on? First Catherine and him were in his bedroom, and then he accidentaly saw her underwear, and now she's ranting about how Sara loveing her. Either there is something in those Singapore Slings she's been taking, or something fishy was happening at this party. "Catherine, are you hearing yourself, you just said Sara loves you." Gil replied and saw the look on Sara's face, as if she wanted to murder him.
"CATHERINE!" Sara screamed and pulled on the womans hair making her scream. She began to smack her on the arm, "You said you wouldn't tell anyone!" she said and then began to laugh.
Nick, Warrick and Greg came at the shriek of Catherine's name to see what was happening down the hallway. They could see Sara beating on Catherine's arm but laughing while she was doing it, and Catherine, didn't even seem to mind her beating her arm as she was laughing. The guys all looked at one another, not sure of what was happening, wondering if those girls were as drunk as they seem.
"Um..."Greg said and then saw the most crazy thing in the world, "OH MY GOD! CATHERINE AND SARA JUST KISSED!" he screamed and all the guys watched as the girl's lip locked.
Grissom couldn't take this anymore, "That's enough!" he said and pulled the two woman apart as they started laughing again. "I guess I am going to have to seperate the two of you," he said and took Catherine by the arm and dragged her back into the living room, leaving Sara back there with the rest of the guys. He dragged her over to the couch and threw her on there.'
"Griss-" Catherine tried to say but Grissom stopped her.
"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!" he screamed and it made Catherine jump. She didn't know what to say. She had never seen Grissom this mad before in her life.
"I-I" Catherine tried to say but couldn't get the words out.
"Hey Griss, lighten up, she's drunk, she probably won't even remember" Sara said sounding awhole lot sober. "It was just a joke, we thought it would make this party interesting, she has no feelings for me or vise versa." Sara explained. "Actually to be honest, she loves you" she blurted out not even thinking about it, but she didn't want the situation the escalate.
Grissom didn't know what to say. Greg, Warrick and Nick, all gave Sara an evil glare at spilling the beans, but they understood why she did it. They all waited to see what Grissom would say, but nothing came out except, "I'm sorry," he said and sat down beside Catherine. I-I didn't meant to," but Catherine stopped him.
"It's okay, I forgive you," she replied and gave him a peck on the cheek. "Now, lets get back to this game shall we? I want to make Nick and Warrick kiss!" she said and everyone laughed.
"Okay, it's my choice, now let me see, truth, dare, double dare, triple doggie dare, promise to repeat on Grissom" Nick said once everyone got situated.
"I choose...promise to repeat," Grissom said trying to keep this game safe, but he knew he failed once he saw the grin on Warrick and Nicks faces.
"Okay, I Grissom" Nick started to say.
"I Grissom" he repeated.
"Was in my bedroom with Catherine and we were making sounds that Nick and Warrick could hear that sounded dirty, but I was just giving her a massage, yet I hoped that it would go further than that and when she was moaning it was turing me on, and I have always imagined Catherine dressed as a belly dancer and her giving me a lap dance." Nick finshed, he couldn't stop laughing.
Grissom looked like he was about to murder Nick for bring up about him and Catherine in his bedroom, but he knew he had to repeat it or he would never hear the end of this at work. About how big of a chicken he was so he decided to act as an adult and repeat the damn thing and get the embarrassment over with.
"Was in my bedroom with Catherine and we were making sounds that Nick and Warrick could hear that sounded dirty, but I was just giving her a massage, yet I hoped that it would go further than that and when she was moaning it was turing me on, and I have always imagined Catherine dressed as a belly dancer and her giving me a lap dance." Grissom said and blushed from head to toe.
"Wow," was all Sara could mutter as she went into the kitchen and grabbed a beer.
"This is new news to me, you guys could of clued me in a little earlier," Greg replied and downed the rest of his beer.
"Hey Griss, maybe I'll stay a little later and give you a private show"Catherine said seductively stroking Grissom's thigh with her finger.
"What about Sara?" Nick said and laughed. Catherine was too lazy to throw a pillow at Nick so she handed it to Grissom and he whipped it at his head. "Okay, I'll stop" he replied and finished his 3rd beer.
"Well lets finish up this stupid game now, okay truth, dare, double dare, triple doggie dare, promise to repeat on Catherine" Grissom asked as he turned to face Catherine.
"I'll choose...triple doggie dare" Catherine proposed.
"Catherine the daredevil!" Greg hooted. "I've never seen anybody pick triple doggie dare before"
"I dare you to strip in front of us, make out with me, or kiss ever little part of Greg's body for 5 minutes" Grissom said, and wasn't really think about what he was saying.
"Wow, Grissom, are you sure your hearing yourself, I mean, you made it really hard for her to choose" Sara said after she polished off her 4th beer
"That's the whole point of this, it's suppose to be hard and fun"
"That sounded dirty!" Greg shouted and everyone laughed.
Catherine was thinking about which one she was going to choose because she was a pro at stripping, she wanted to kiss Grissom, but not infront of the whole team, and Greg would be having to much fun if she was kissing him.
"So, Cath which one are you going to choose?" Warrick asked after a few minutes of silence.
"I will choose...to make out with Grissom, but only for one minuet" Catherine finally said. She looked at Grissom waiting for him to answer.
"Okay..." Grissom replied as Nick and Greg's face lit up.
"Well, I'm not watching, I will be in the bathroom," Sara said as she got up. She then turned around at the sound of the men whinning for her to stay and threatened, "if any of you try to get me back in here to watch your dead". The guys backed off, when she was drunk she was vicious.
"Okay guys, put on some music and lets get this party started." Catherine said as she smiled at Grissom. "I've always wanted to do this," she whispered in his ear and his face went beat red.
"This is going to be good" Warrick said as he smiled and listened as "All That She Wants" by Ace of Base filled the room. "Perfect choice Greg" he said and Greg laughed.
The music started and Catherine straddled her co-worker/secret lover and smiled as he smiled back. She could see in his eyes that he had wanted this, and he was going to get it. Catherine leaned in and locked lips with Grissom closing her eyes and moaned. The coupled rolled over on to their backs on the couch and conituned going, even past a minuet. Neither of them wanted it to end, and they would keep going until the end of the song.
Warrick, Nick and Greg sat on the other couch and watched in awe at the moves that Catherine was laying on Grissom, and what Grissom was giving in return. Finally the song ended and so did the kissing. Catherine smiled and then laughed as she got up off of Grissom and walked down the hallway to the bathroom to get Sara. Grissom just laid there in awe, it wasn't at all like he pictured it...it was way better.
"Umm guys, who wins?" Greg questioned. Nick and Warrick stared at one another.
"Wait, the bet was who could ever hook them up first, and it was...Grissom" Nick said and scratched his head. "I guess no one..but how-Sara" Nick whispered and looked at Grissom. "You knew the plan didn't you!" Nick said and Gil started laughing.
"Sara, you can come out now, we're done" Catherine said from the bathroom door.
Sara opened the door and pulled Catherine inside shutting and locking the door behind them. "So? What happened?" Sara asked eager to know the details.
"We made out, and right now, the guys are just figuring out the real plan." Catherine said and smiled. "Thanks Sara, I mean the guys were clueless about the whole thing because of all the betting" Catherine stated.
"Thanks, but you did not too bad yourself, I mean, you with the whole massaging part, and now the kiss. That was amazing," Sara said. "I guess the guys will be looking for my blood huh?"
"You better count on it" Catherine replied and laughed. "I wonder how long it will take them to realize that my 'singapore sling' mix was really just koolaid" Catherine pondered and Sara laughed.
"SARA SIDLE! YOU HAVE ALOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO!" Greg screamed and then pounded on the door.
"Hold your horses! Can't a girl put in a tampon in private!" Catherine called back as both women laughed again, that would shut them up.
"I-I'll be out in the living room" Greg muttered and then ran off.
Catherine and Sara strolled into the living room with smiles on their faces and sat down on the couch on either side of the Grissom. Nick, Warrick and Greg noticed that Catherine looked to be alot less drunk, and wasn't even stumbling. Something was going on.
"Okay guys, spill" Warrick asked.
"Well, when I invited Catherine out to talk I gave her a proposition, that we set it up that neither of you guys get the pot, since Grissom would be doing the actual deed." Sara explained.
"Then when I asked Grissom to go to the bedroom with me, and talk in private, I told him the plan. Then when I heard Greg scream I knew that Nick and Warrick were coming, so we devised a plan to make it seem like we were doing something of interest but really it wasn't." Catherine continued. "Oh and by the way, those Singapore Slings, it was koolaid, mixed with a bit of vodka, I was sober the whole time" she added.
"I knew that Sara was going to suggest Truth or dare, so we rigged it so that I would be asking Catherine what she wanted to do, and she would choose make out with me, that way I was the matchmaker and you guys wouldn't get any money." Grissom finshes as the three of them started laughing.
"Wow, I guess...you can pull the wool over my eyes" Warrick stated, and Nick and Greg started laughing.
"You guys are good, now only if you rigged monopoly, you wouldn't have to dress as belly dancers at work on Monday." Greg replied.
"Well...we didn't want to disappoint all of you guys over everything" Sara replied.
"Women, can't live with them, can't live without them" Nick stated, and everyone laughed at how true it was.
The weekend and very interesting party was over. It was time for the gang to go back to slaving away at the lab. However, one thing would perk up everyone's day, Catherine and Sara had to dress as belly dancers for the shift. Of course the guys were extatic about it, and the women. Well...
"Might as well get this over and done with, hopefully we won't get called out to alot of cases tonight." Catherine stated to Sara inside the Tahoe. She picked Sara up because her battery in her truck died and needed a ride into work.
"Yeah it would be pretty embarrassing going up to someone and saying, 'hi I'm a criminalist, I lost at Monopoly so this is my payback'" Sara replied sarcastically.
Sara wasn't to pleased she had to do this. They should have made the bet on a drinking contest so then they would have won. Catherine turned the coroner, heading on to Parkview seeing the lab up ahead. It was another ten seconds until the embarrassment began. She pulled into the crime lab parking lot, seeing that none of the guys were there yet. That was a good thing, because they still had to get ready.
Catherine and Sara entered the lab, waving to the receptionist Judy and headed down towards the locker rooms with their costumes in hand. The woman entered, checking to make sure that no one was standing around in the locker room, before getting changed. Catherine gave Sara some jewels she borrowed from Lindsey for added effect.
"This is going to be quite an...unusual shift," Catherine replied from behind her locker as she was getting changed.
"Yeah, I can just see them now," Sara replied.
The two of them finished, now dressed like replica I Dream of Genie's and smiled at each other's accomplishment's. Sara was dressed in a blue crop top with a blue see through fabric flowing over top. Shje wore a matching skirt that was covered in gold jewles that would jiggle with every move she made of her hips. Over top of her naval she place one of the jeweles Catherine lent her.
Sara's long brown hair was up in a high pony tail with a blue scarf tied in a bow around her pony. It matched the rest of her outfit. The most outstanding feature of her whole ensemble was her make up. Eye shadow casted over her eyelids in shades of blue and purple that whisped out at the sides for an added effect. Eyeliner was along the rim of her eyes, that was done in black and made her eyes stand out even more. Her lips were glazed with clear lipgloss that never seemes to disappaear with every lick of her lips. Numerous bracelets, necklaces, and anklets covered her body. She resembled a real belly dancer.
Catherine, was dressed in all pink. There costumes were quite the same but in different colours, for they did by them together. Catherine's short blonde hair was was braided and at the bottom of the braid was a pink scarf, wrapped around the hairtie. However, her scaf had small designs done in beeds on it, which matched with the jewelery she was wearing. Her eyes were defined with shoades of pink and red. along the edge of her eyelids were small sparkles that twinkled in the light. Her lips were covered with pink lipstick, adn then covered with a gloss, to keep them radiant all day. The necklaces she wore were made of fake coin and would jingle everytime she took a step. Abover and below her naval were jeweles and on her feet were white high-heeled sandals. Her toenails and fingernails were painted a bright pink colour, done by her daughter.
Ready?" Catherine asked eyeing her friend and co-worker.
"Yes master," Sara replied folding her hand and nodding her head. Catherine laughed as she grabbed Sara's hand and pulled her out into the hallway.
"The guys should be here by now, and probably waiting for us in the breakroom."
"Yeah, I just want this shift the end, as fast as it begins"
Catherine and Sara turned the corner, having all of the lab technicans looking at them as if they were on drugs. When Catherine turned the corner she realized that they were going to pass by Greg's DNA lab. They sighed knowing that Greg would not let them pass without making a comment. However, to their surprise Greg was not curled up in his lab he calls 'home'. That was odd, usually he was always here early. Well earlier than the rest of them.
The women kept walking, not minding the looks they were recieving until they were at the breakroom. They could see through the windows that everyone was in their, including Greg.
"Whoa! Check out the hot belly dancers!" Nick said as he was getting a cup of coffee.
Greg, Warrick and Grissom all turned towards the door and their jaws were proped open. Sara and Catherine were standing in the door way smiling, and dressed as belly dancers.
"Can I be your master, Sara" Greg asked as everyone started laughing.
Sara began to strut over towards him, swaying her hips like an actual belly dancer. Catherine couldn't help but laugh. "Were you potty trained or are you just happy to see us" Sara whisperered in Greg's ear and pointed down to the mess he made on his pants with a well manicured fingernail.
Greg and everyone's eyes turned to the mess he made with coffee all down the front of his pants. It was amazing that he didn't scream out in pain as the hot liquid burned his thighs. It looked as if he peed himself. Greg blushed and ran out of the breakroom and towards the mens washroom.
"So Grissom, are you going to hand out assignments or just stare at us all day" Catherine replied as she moved besided Grissom, giving him a peck on the cheek.
"Right," Grissom said and cleared his throat. "Warrick you and Sara have a DB at Treasure Island. Catherine and I have a snuff film, and Nick you have a torched house on Applegate Rd." Grissom said as he handed out the assignments.
"Aw, man I don't get to see one of the girls, this blows." Nick said as he walked out of the break room towards the Tahoe's.
"Well this will be fun, a DB at Treasure Island, maybe Jack Sparrow took his life in a swod fight for Cortez's gold" Warrick replied making Sara laugh. She grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the hallway.
"Are those two dating?" Grissom asked turing towards Catherine. he couldn't take his eyes off of her dressed in such a revealing outfit. Never, not even when she was an exotic dancer, had she seem her such skimmpy clothing.
"I don't know, you'll have to ask Warrick or Sara." Catherine replied and smiled. "Lets go solve a snuff film," she stated with another kiss on the cheek. That was enough to get Grissom moving towards the door.
Sara and Warrick were in Warrick's Tahoe heading towards Treasure Island. it was down near the end of the strip, and had a watershow every ten minuets. It was the whole pirate show down packed. There were explosions, sword fighting, and even ships sinking. It had been a long time since he had actually witnessed the show, for now it was all crowded with tourists taking pictures every ten seconds, making sure not to miss an explosion.
Warrick, however, had his eyes on something other than the pirate show. He was having a hard time had a hard time concentrating on the road because of the Sara sitting in the passenger seat dressed as a belly dancer.
"Warrick, could you try keeping your eyes on the road, I don't want to die a belly dancer." Sara said, seeing that he was not paying attention to the traffic consuming the road. "You can admire me when we get back to the lab." Sara said as she nervously glanced over at Warrick again. His eyes roaming all over her, she was right, loosing purposely to Greg was working out pretty good.
"Sorry, it's just that, well, damn girl your really hot," Warrick replied and realized what he just said. "I mean, shoot, I didn't mean to say that Sara" Warrick tried to appologize.
"So I'm not hot?" Sara replied sarcastically.
"No, I mean yes, yes you are...I mean,"
"It's okay," Sara said placing a hand on his thigh. The new feeling made him jump and his hand accidently hit the horn. A loud burst came out from the car, and thankfully no one was around, or a fight might have ensued. Sara couldn't help but giggle.
"I like your laugh," Warrick replied with a schoolboy smile.
"I like you," Sara replied and smiled back. They rode the rest of the way in silence.
Meanwhile Grissom and Catherine were at this Adult Film Studio watching a snuff film. It was like any regular, store bought porn, up to the moment the man and woman were shot in the head. Catherine and Grissom were standing with the lady, yet Grissom was more concentrated on Catherine's apperance more than the killing.
"Keep your eyes on the screen," Catherine whispered to her boss.
"What?" the woman said turing around eyeing Catherine's outfit for the second time.
"Nothing, I was just discussing something with my collegue," Catherine replied and shot Gil a look.
"Whatever," she said and turned back around to watch the film.
Catherine shook her head and said, "It definatly wasn't an act, this is cold blooded murder." she stated and looked a Grissom. "Grissom? Hello earth to Grissom, do you want me to take this case alone?" Catherine said to her boss. He shook his head and said no trying his best to start concentrating on work.
"Lets head back to the lab and start with the evidence," Grissom replied and walked out the building with the tape and headed towards the Tahoe.
"Gil, am I distracting you?" Catherine asked as they climbed into the Tahoe.
"What, no, no of course not" Gil replied and started the truck.
"Are you sure, because if I am I can work the lab tonight,"
"No, no it's fine-"
Gil pulled out of the parking lot and headed down the road. He couldn't take the silence any longer. He needed to tell Catherine the truth. "Cath, I-I lied, you are a distraction." he said as he stopped at a red light. "I mean look at you, your amazingly beautiful in that outfit, and it's hard not to look at your body I mean, wow it's like- it's gorgeous-" Gil rambled on.
"Gil-Gil stop before you run out of breath" Catherine interrrupted and Gil shut his mouth. "If you want me to, I can work the lab, I don't mind." she offered again.
"No, I-I want you to stay with me," Gil said and whispered "forever".
"What was that last word?" Catherine asked as the truck started moving again.
"I-I said forever." Gil confessed. 'Smooth move man, might as well spill all the beans' he thought and sighed. "I love you Catherine." he blurted out, catching Catherine off guard.
"You-you, what?"
"I love you. I want to be with you, forever. I've had these feelings for you for a long time, I love the way you walk, I love the way you talk, I love the way you laugh, I love the way you dress, I love the way you mulit-task Lindsey and this job. I love you." he said and saw that Catherine wasn't going to say anything. "I-I hope I didn't come on too strong and scare you, I-I just can't hide those feelings I have for you any longer." he finished.
"I love you," Catherine stated, not even thinking.
"You-you do?"
"I love you Gil Grissom," she leaned over and gave him a peck on the cheek. "My little bugman" she said and giggled, which caused Grissom to laugh as well.
While Warrick and Sara were at Treasure Island and Grissom and Catherine were heading back to the lab, Nick was at the house of one Mr. Mike Rogers. He pulled into the drivewat and saw his favorite cop. She was standing beside the owners truck, talking with the witness.
"Dectivive Conroy, how are you this evening?" Nick said as he was walking towards the car.
"Good thanks and you?" Conroy replied and waved for another officer to take over the witness questioning.
"What do we got?" Nick asked.
"House brunt to the ground. The owner, Mr. Mike Rogers is missing, so he could be inside, but thats just what I think, you have to discover the truth"
"My specialty" Nick smiled as they entered the ashes.
It had been a week since the whole belly dancer show. It was Greg's birthday and they decided to go out and celebrate. The gang went over to Greg's apartment and decided to play a friendly game of twister.
Catherine and Grissom were cuddled on one end of the couch while Warrick and Sara were cuddled on the other. Nick and Greg were the only ones without dates, so decided to be each other date for the evening. Everyone was already drunk, or half way there, and that was quite evident during Kareoke at Bar 911.
"All right rules for this game," Catherine said as she shifted her weight on Grissom's lap. "There has to be a bet. What's it going to be boys?" Catherine stated and downed her fourth cosmo.
"Let me see," Greg stated tapping his index finger on his chin. He had to think of the perfect bet, and this time it will not be flawed like at Grissom's. "If one of us guys wins not including Grissom because he is working the spinner then you girls have to strip, and I mean strip...bra and undies gone!" Greg said with a smile. An erruption of hooting and hollering came from Warrick and Nick, and Grissom just smiled.
"I've already beaten you guys on that one," Gil said and Catherine gasped.
"Grissom!" she said and smacked him with a pillow and then started laughing.
"If one of us girls win then you have to...." Sara said and then trailed off. She needed a good bet. "You all, including Grissom, have dress in woman's clothing for two days" she said, and spit in her hand. "Deal?"
"Deal" Nick said, spitting in his hand and shaking with Sara.
After two grueling hours Warrick and Nick were out. They fell on top of each other when reaching for the same green circle with their left hands. It was all up to Greg so they wouldn't have to dress in woman's clothing.
Both Sara and Catherine were still in the game, neither of them looked like they were going down. Woman generally had an advantage over men in this game, because they are able to keep their balance better than men. Catherine looked at Grissom and smiled. "I know you want us to strip Grissom, so why don't you just rig the spinner" she commented.
"How do you know I haven't been doing that already Cath" Gil replied and flicked the spinner. "Plus I know if I won't get it here, I'll get it at home". Catherine laughed and waited for her next move. "Left foot red" he called and everyone did so.
In the middle of moving her left foot Sara caught a glimpse of Warrick's dashing smile. It was enough for her to loose her concentration and her footing for she fell flat on her face. "Warrick you made me loose on purpose" Sara commented as she got up and whispered something in Catherine's ear.
"Hey, no secret plans with team members!" Nick shouted.
"Cool it fly boy, it has nothing to do with the game" Catherine replied.
"Well, I'll be the judge of that, you tell me what she said."
"She said, that you seem to be, having your um, your hand in a very awkward position" Sara and Catherine couldn't help but stiffle a laugh.
"My hand-" Nick said and looked down seeing that it was in between Warrick's legs. Quickly he moved it away and blushed beat red. Everyone laughed. "Sorry man," he mummbled.
"Good thing I got out when I did, or I would have lost Warrick to Nick" Sara stated sarcaastically and the girls laughed again.
Grissom spun the spinner once more as Sara and Warrick were getting comfy together again. "Left hand green" Grissom said.
Greg did that, but the only green circle available was under Catherine. He reached, and realised that his face was in her chest. He freaked and lost his balance making a very unstable Catherine almost fall as well but she some how managed to keep her balance.
"Nice one Greg," Warrick said.
"Looks like the girls win" Grissom said, he was very disappointed.
"Did you have a nice view Greg?" Sara asked as she laughed.
"As a matter of fact, that was the best birthday gift I've ever gotten" Greg replied and everyone bursted into a fit of giggles.
