Farse began lif ein 1996 when school buddies Ollie Patrick (vocals), Chris Baddham (bass) and Dan O'Connell (drums) decided to put together a band as music was their big passion in life and the only 'career' they wanted to follow.

As they learned to play thier instuments and started gigging they went through numerous before finally arriving at Tom Whitehouse in late 1998 and Adrian Preston in early 1999 who both settled in as the twin guitarists.

The band then proceeded to write new material, which despite influences ranging from Iron Maiden to Bob Marley, all came over as a fairly unique blend of Old School Hardcore, Emo and Ska.

Armed with the new matrial the band started playing shows in and around Birmingham building up a fairly substantial local fanbase. Support slots with more established acts such as [spunge], Capdown, Good Riddence, Mad Caddies, Voodoo Glow Skulls, King Prawn, Bouncing Souls and H20 amongst others have helped cement them as the west midlands most happening Ska-core band.

With the confidence gained from the positive public reaction at these shows the band ebntered Rich Bitch studios in Birmingham to recored their debut album in April and June 2001 and emerged with 13 tracks to set the world alight. The recording was heard by [spunge]'s manager Dave Juste who immediately licensed the album through Sucka-Punch Records and October 8th 2001 saw the full UK release of FARSE's debut album 'Means To An End' on an unsuspecting British public and much critical aclaim.

To back up the release the band played 12 shows on [spunge]'s sold out tour of large UK venues and got a great reception fom fans and promoters, so much so that they were asked back to most of the venues as support to the Mad Caddies in Januay 2002.

All this acclaim beought them to the attention of moon ska europe, resulting entering UB40's Dep International Studios in Birmingham in early September 2002 to record their second album 'Boxing Clever' scheduled for release inlate October 2002.

Never one's to sit idle he band have secured an opening slot on the bill for the forthcoming Bwoling For Soup UK tour in October as well as a headline show at the prestigious Barfly in London, and will be adding further dates, both headline abd support, around the UK to support the release of the second album.

So look out for FARSE at a venue near you later this year and come and join the party.
