Kenya: 26th November - 14th December
| My first stop in Kenya was a safari to the Masai Mara. This is an elephant... |
| ...and this is a cheetah. |
| This young lion is at the stage in his life where he gets evicted from the pride and has to take over a new pride of his own. But it was a bit hot for that sort of craic in the Mara so he just relaxed in the shade of a bush. |
| Behind me is the Mara river, full of hippos and crocodiles. |
| And this is me in Lake Nakuru National Park, in the Rift Valley. It's a small park, but extremely beautiful, and it's surrounded by an electric fence which keeps the poachers out and... |
| ...keeps the rhinos in. These are white rhinos. Nakuru town is in the background. |
| The soda lake in the middle of the park is home to millions of flamingoes. |
| After Lake Nakuru I went to Hell's Gate where I did a cycling safari through the gorge. |
| Rock hyrax in Hell's Gate. Believe it or not, the hyrax's closest living relative is the elephant. |
| Swahili girls in Mombasa. |
| Me at the Swahili ruins of Gedi, on the Kenyan coast near Mombasa. |
| Lamu waterfront. |
| Lamu is the perfect place to chill out. Once you've got past the touts, that is. |
| Taking a patriotic dhow trip in Lamu. |
| After the Ali Yummy Good For Tummy, the incomparable Ali Hippy & family treated us to some top notch Casio entertinement. |
| All good things must come to an end... tomorrow will be time to leave Lamu. |
