Children A similarity between now and the time of the Westward Expansion is the spirits of the children. They would always find games to play, no matter what the condition on the trail. They played with jump ropes, dolls made from cornhusks, marbles and kites. They would also play games familiar to us today, like checkers and tic-tac-toe. Their mothers would set up camp and cook, while the fathers hunted if they were low on food. |
