Now and then I get asked about the famous picture of Nastassja and that snake. I can't pretend to be an expert as in the early 1980s I was too young to appreciate such things! However, here's a little info.
The photo was taken by Richard Avedon [who also took different photos of Nastassja for Rolling Stone magazine]. It was available to buy as a 3' x 2' poster and you can find them on ebay.
The photo was also used on the cover of American Photographer magazine [March 1982] and French Photo magazine [number 200]. I think in both cases the cover folded out to let you see more of Nastassja and the snake.
