City Cage
So where the hell have you been around?
I’m the one lost in the edges
Of this massive little town.
Where have you been trying to hide?
The day is gone
And I can’t escape without the benefit of light.
When you’re gone
The pictures faded all into black and white,
So come get me and we can go down the road
And we can learn to glide.
You can come with me to the top of the world
And spin till we’re starting to swirl and we’re starting to whirl,
Swim into a pool of laughter
Until we spill onto the tides.
All you have to do is come with me tonight.
We’ll trace the trail as we fly and ride,
We’ll pass the hills and gravel roads
And break the mountains with our hands of might.
I’m trapped on this avenue of rats
So pick me up and show me how you’re mine.
This town has held on to me since the day its been brought to life,
The streets restrict me and keep me on the side,
And here, the walls, are always closing in on me tight.
I’ve run around after some heavy time,
And I found out that
You’re what I’ve been trying to find.
