Momentary Lover
A clean blue day
Down the corner of Granville street
At the intersection
Waiting for white light man
To tell my eyes where I’m aloud to be
And let my feet go where I need to be
But in those few seconds
He was a lover to me.
A stranger on the other side,
Another corner
Sharing a smile with me,
Whispering beautiful words
That don’t need to be heard.
His eyes tell me everything
As he passes me.
He walks on by
Still smiling with crystal blue eyes
Laid down on me.
In one single moment
We’re lovers who will never meet.
And wondering why neither chose to speak,
If one word had been spoken
Would we have fulfilled what we were meant to be?
But those few moments will eternally be cherished
As those few seconds became
A single moment of true happiness
We all seek out to reach.
