I never liked characters like Superman or Batman. To fight with the bad
guys you don’t need super natural power or technology --- all you need
is courage and intelligence (obviously including positive motivation).
Since my childhood, I never could get obsessed with any of those “heroes”,
who never existed. I remember that almost all of my friends had some model
character (needless to mention that, most of them were imaginary characters).
I never did like somebody entirely. I think I’m too judgmental about the
individuals. Well, face it; everybody has dark and bright characteristics.
When the brighter site over laps the darker ones then a man could be called
a good man. Of course according to proportion, the quality and intensiveness
could vary from Muhammad to Hitler or further above and beyond. When do
we really call a man good? I don’t know about other people but, so far
my captive knowledge goes --- I call a man good when his actions are motivated
for a better consequences to the majority of the living beings. Still a
person with unhealthy mind or lack of intelligence could misjudge the results
or effects of other person.
How about Robin Hood? I think he was a great guy. He did quite a bit for
the people; greater of all, he made a long-term positive impression on
people’s hearts throughout all these years. I wish everybody were like
him, which in reality is impossible. That’s why we need leaders like Muhammad,
Jesus, Buddha, and Krishna. Because of the current mediocre commercial
world, we don’t appreciate multicultural leaders. So, we could use some
figures like Gandhi or Hitler in regional basis. I can’t really judge Gandhi
jee, but I don’t think it was logical to over trust people and get himself
assassinated. He should have been aware of the dirty politics; ‘cause there
were a large number of people who won’t be benefited by any common interest
like peace. They make profit out of crisis and bloodshed. During that time
newly British free India needed a strong leader who won’t be biased by
religious issues. However Mr. Gandhi didn’t seem to be interested in dirty
politics. He should have had enough guts to rule India at least until the
political instability got settled down. Again I apologize for being so
judgmental on Mahatma Gandhi. He was a great hero --- that’s why actually
I expected more form this noble soul. He could have played his tricks to
defeat those polluted leaders to free his nation --- oh well, he believed
in nonviolent protest (though it worked till certain point of the history).
I just wish that he could lead that subcontinent to its apex and would
avoid a tragic death by the political terrorists of the society.
The people who are reading this must be thinking that I’m insane --- I’ve
mentioned the name of Gandhi and Hitler at the same time. Well, let me
tell you this, they both were great leaders and victors with unbelievable
potentials. Hitler was prejudiced, arrogant, power hungry, and cruel. I
still can’t put down his talents, courage, and patriotism. Every single
German knew that he was misanthrope except for the Germans. He did bring
glory for his people --- later on just got carried away a little too much
by his egoism and temperament. Nevertheless at the end part of World War
II he turned to be a complete insane, and he considered the war defeats
as his personal vengeance. I tried a lot to concentrate on some smaller
issue, and to write about it; I never could. Whatever I do --- I keep on
expending so much that I loose track. Every single matter I have to universalize.
If I see some starving kid I feel bad for all those kids under stress and
suffering. I instantly start thinking about their problems and solutions.
The problems of the world can’t be solved logically, but it still could
be made a better place, and could be rescued from obvious self-destruction.
I never liked politics because it is generally polluted and corrupted.
If I want to do something great for my people and my country, I have to
be the ace of spade. How can I achieve such opportunity, of course by politics?
In that case I have to proceed accepting “their” dark strategies to survive
the competition. After all that when I finally receive power, will I be
the same person who started with as a true and brave patriot? It’s a critical
toxic chain. I have to break through the cursed system. I expect to offer
our newborn children a better world.
Global Ecological Awareness?
The reason I get obsessed with the “formatted utilitarian” (my own version
of utilitarian perspective) viewpoint is, a very few people on earth really
care about our earth. If we don’t care about pollution, green house effect,
forestry, endangered species, recycling etc. we will be the one to extinct.
The world can’t exist with out a balanced ecosystem. We can’t spare time
to think about those global alarming issues --- because, we are too busy
inventing stronger and deadlier nuclear weapons and exploring void spaces.
What Mother Nature says? You can’t expect to live inside your mother’s
womb when she’s dead. Everyday we all are contributing to the advancement
of science, philosophy, technology, and other material issues. We are researching
on how to extend business and economics further --- people --- people ---
do realize that there is absolutely no necessity of the theories of Aristotle,
Einstein or Fiscal when your race doesn’t exist? So, the knowledge and
awareness we need first is how to save and maintain this global environment.
By increasing global awareness, we are not just doing a favor to our next
generation, but it’s us who get the biggest help.
How Much Do We Learn
In Our Institutional Studies?
People try to die for a cause --- well, I should say some people do. Do
the living crowd really care for others dedications? I don’t know why the
great men and women devoted, and some cases sacrificed their lives for.
I mean there’s not much scope to know anyhow. Whenever we get to learn
about some historical events, figures, or consequences of some major acts
--- the information we get is so null and barely appraisable to fathom the situtaion. How can we
evaluate someone when we don’t know exactly what he or she did, and under
what circumstances? Of course their view and perspective matters could
be judgmental too. Just take for example, --- one of the greatest historic
and political figures of Bangladesh is Sher – e – Bangla A. K. Fazlul Haque.
His dignity was less controversial than most other great politicians so
far Bengali politics are concerned (though during his period Bangladesh
was not born; however, he has an everlasting impact on people’s mind).
When I was a kid, I read a lot about Mr. Haque. I know how he used to help
the poor, how rhetorical he was on his cases in court and public speeches,
how enormous appetite he had for food etc. Now I wonder what I really learned
about him! What was his political sight --- did he believed in capitalism
or else --- what are the policies he emphasized on and why? These sorts
of questions had a void appearance with a neuron full of junk memories.
Come on, he was a politician --- likely an intelligent one --- what information
could be more important about him then his strategies, thoughts, and views?
Well, there might be books available if I’m craving to know those facts.
My anxiety is, why was I provided with a whole bunch of junk information
about him before knowing his contribution to this country? Our education
system needs a major change. Some people jeopardized our free thoughts.
The more we learn the more we disobey, and ask questions. Our future
generation is going to know nothing about the history they need to know
to rule a fair country.
A Bitter Taste of Reality on
a Tender Mind
Let me tell you about a sore memory (which was shocking enough for me to
be scared of the system I was going to enter) I have from educational institution.
Well, I had to get my school certificates and mark sheets in English to
apply for studying in USA. There was an irrational fee for that purpose
--- which I had to pay by a certain bank draft (no other substitution).
I had to wait in the line about an hour to get it though I had an account
there (our banking system is another story --- I rather save it for a later
occasion). Anyway, I reached the Dhaka education board office after quite
a few long messy traffic jams, inhaling fresh black smokes form the vehicle
exhausts. Guess what I’ve found next! There are four long lines for submitting
the application and the fee to get the certificate. Readers might be curious,
why I just didn’t mail the stuffs. Well, our education board doesn’t trust
the government mail service, which happens to be very unreliable. A huge
crowd was yelling and shouting in front of the acceptance window. I thought
a big fight was breaking out. It was their unarranged and corrupted way
of handling things that led the students and parents paranoid. Well, I
was waiting in the same line for al least a couple of hours with out moving
no further than five feet towards the window (hey at least now I could
see that the receptionist had a beard). I saw a tricky student went back
and came out with an employee. The employee asked half of the line (the
vary one I was in) to move towards another window --- he explained, as
they were very busy, they’re opening some more windows. We few of the students
moved towards the pointed window and waited for few minutes, but nobody
did open it. Then we realized that we had been exploited. That certain
tricky kid took the spot what we left --- evidently he bribed the employee
to get us out of his way. I didn’t throw a fit; you know the mentality,
fresh out of the high school with some stupid moral dilemma with no relation
to the reality. As I continued standing under the burning sun
of hot summer, I was so exhausted. Then I found out that I had like half an
hour 'till they close. That meant that I would have to come again the next
day and stay in line once more with no assurance of getting my job done. My
conscious lost the battle with the logic --- I needed it bad, so, without
wasting any farther time I went to some employee and …….. Whatever it was,
I got the job done compromising their unjust ways. What kind of morality do
you expect those students to pursue? Well, so far my morality goes, I will
play it in their way to get my things done, and once I have the power to
screw them up, I would make sure it’s done damn right. I can’t expect the
world to behave the way I wish to see. So, I have to deal with the
oppression. Someday I will be the one to decide their games --- I will
make them play it in my way --- a fair play!
