When I first got this cd I was destined to listen to it straight away as myself being a fan of Max Cavalera’s work with him being a major influence to myself. The thing that I’ve always like about Soulfly is that they have always challenged their listeners’ expectations. Max Cavalera is the album’s producer and the is very experimental and unpredictable in many ways.

With a completely new cast of musicians, like David Ellefson (Megadeth) and Mark Rizzo (formerly of Ill Nino), 'Prophecy' has some very distinct 'old and new school' flavours. 'Prophecy' is very heavy and is also very experimental and you can surely recognise Max's Brazilian Tribal Roots breaking through into the music. I wouldn't say it's the best Soulfly album to date but it sure is an improvement from the previous album.

But, the thing i like about 'Prophecy' is that this album blends world music influences without compromising its brutality and i really do think that Soulfly pull it off well. 'Prophecy' is defiantely the most daring and exciting work that they have done to date but not the best. I still would recommend this album though. The stand out tracks in my view are Prophecy, Living Sacrifice and In the Meantime.

Track list for Prophecy:

1. Prophecy 2. Living Sacrifice 3. Execution Style 4. Defeat U 5. Mars 6. I Believe 7. Moses 8 Born Again Anarchist 9. Porrada 10. In The Meantime 11. Soulfly IV 12. Wings.
