SALVATION

          By: Pastor Rod Parsley

There was only one thing in the universe that could seperate
man from the God who created him and loved him, and that was sin.
Sin separated man from God and became a barrier between them.

The barrier of sin still separates God and man today.
We cannot cross that barrier by being a good person.
We cannot get passed it by signing our name on a church roll
or shedding tears at an altar.

There is only ONE way to enter into the relationship with God
that we were designed to have.

God sent His very own Son into the earth to live a sinless life
and then offer that life as payment in full for the sins of the
whole world. Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to the
will of God, and the Bible says He became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8).

Jesus' perfect obedience to the will of His Father allowed
Him to make this dramatic statement. He knew He had obeyed
His Father by offering His life on the cross and shedding
His blood to pay the price for mankind's redemption.

God knew we had no ability of our own to cross the barrier
that sin had created. He sent his Son into the world to reach
one hand to us and the other hand back to God and join us
          together once again.

The way back to God is to acknowledge our need of a Savior
and to accept what Jesus Christ did on our behalf. God saw us
in our state of spiritual death, and through Jesus Christ,
provided a way back into a relationship with him.

Salvation has been freely offered to everyone.
Anyone who will acknowledge their need of a Savior
and accept Jesus Christ as that Savior can be saved.

These three steps are essential to salvation:

REPENT: To repent means to turn around
to go in a new direction.

What do we need to turn from? We need to turn from
our life-style of sin and separation from God.
We need to turn from living our lives our own way
          and being our own God.

What do we turn to? We turn to God who loves us and cares
for us. We turn to faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior.

BELIEVE: What is it that we must believe?
We are told in the Bible we must believe not only did Jesus
shed His blood and die for us, but that He rose again
from the dead and is alive today.

(Romans 10:9-10) "That is thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God
hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
          For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

CONFESS: With the mouth confession is made unto
salvation. What is it that we say? We must say what we
believe - that Jesus is our Savior. We must say what the
Bible says about us - that God is our Father and we have
          become His children.

Throughout the ages mankind has sought eternal life,
never understanding that we are already eternal beings
destined to live forever somewhere. To live forever in a
state of separation from God is a frightening thought.
You can make sure that you are right with God by
turning to him and praying this Prayer from your Heart:

"God, I come to you in the name of Jesus.
I admit that I am a sinner in need of a Savior.
I ask You to come into My life.
I CONFESS with my mouth that Jesus is my Lord,
and I BELIEVE in my heart that You have raised Him
from the dead. I REPENT of my sinful life and ask that
You forgive me of my sins, and I will live for you as you
show me how. Thank you, Jesus, that I am saved. Amen!"

By believing in Jesus Christ and receiving Him as
your Lord and Savior, you will turn your life
in a new direction. You can be at peace with God
knowing you are forgiven, and you will live
          forever with him.

Tomorrow is promised to no man. If you have never asked
Jesus to come into your life, ask God to save you right now.
If you have been saved but have walked away from God,
it is not too late to come back to Him, He loves us
so much that He has provided a way of forgiveness,
          if we will only ask.
