Night Of Thoughts

Someone walks amongst the leaves
The twigs snap and shuffle
Out from underneath the shadows
Comes a loud ‘BANG!’
And everything is silenced
Down at the bay someone creeps
Has someone entered? Perhaps…
But as the silence grows loud
And the house settles noisily
A heavy breathing comes from behind
But nothing more is heard
Sleep is rare in this strange town
But creeping boys are not
The estranged sounds of tossing and
turning
Now enter the realm of sounds
But nothing quite as mysterious
As the one squeaking down below
The silence grows loud again
As the scrapping of metal on the
concrete steps
