Dangerous Game Black shadows against white walls, Desperately creeping through my halls. Stalking through ones mind, searching for anything they can find. Reaching into one’s existence and taking all they need. Meeting every resistance, living to succeed. Opening up doors that lead to nowhere and desperately Trying to reach your destination, to find you were always there. Constantly searching for an explanation. Beware; Keep out, Danger lies ahead, Notice, Warning racing through my head, Set to fall, crumble and break. Living merely to live, my only mistake. Returning again to feel the pain, merely to be set up once again. Like chess its game you play, with once more another delay. Love, is it an answer to a dream, to reality not yet seen? Or is it a fight to merely survive? The Game, it plays in my mind. Jessica Published in: Best Poems of 1997 |
