Downtrodden

When life turns for a wrong,
And you fall down;
Where do you belong,
A loved one in the ground;

Sadness in your heart,
An empty hole of pain;
Where do you start,
From crying you refrain;

The void that is left,
Will never go away;
The day that they left,
With you it will stay;

Memories of the one,
That you so loved;
Can be taken by none,
Remember that you're loved;

Remember the time,
You spent together;
Hear that chime,
And enjoy the weather;

Life goes on and so must you,
Life is not fair;
Try not to be blue,
And with someone your love share;

Sometimes life takes a turn,
And it's a turn for the bad;
But you can take a turn,
Hateful people make you mad;

They look upon you like scum,
When it is really them;
They are the bum,
But you are not like them;

One day you will show all,
How you got up;
After that fall,
And drink from a golden cup;

For the downtrodden must rise,
And their aggressors will fall;
And wail horrible cries,
For you gave your all;

The will to survive,
And endure the pain;
Suffering is optional,
Just don't complain;

Find your potential,
Find your destiny;
Find your heart,
Find yourself.
