The ASPCS is an organization dedicated to fostering an awareness of singles' rights.
Declaration of singles' rights:
Singles have the right to not be the brunt of jokes because of their singleness.
Singles have the right to refuse any blind date offer.
Singles have the right to refuse to be in the presence of disgusting couples.
Singles have the right to ask a couple doing disgusting stuff to stop.
Singles have the right to form friendships with the opposite sex for purposes other than getting a date.
Singles have the right to tell a person trying to set them up to buzz off.
Singles have the right to hang out with a person of the opposite sex without rumors of dating.
Singles have the right to not be confronted with the following harassing statements:
When are you going to get married?
Are you ever going to get married?
When did you have your last date?
Are you gay?
Are you sworn to celibacy?
Hey my (relative/friend/coworker/etc.) is single...
Are you ever going to get a date?
Are you antisocial or something?
Singles have the right to go to movies and/or dinner with a member of the opposite sex without being classified as a date.
Singles have the right to have a best friend of the opposite sex.
Singles have the right to hang out with a group of friends of the opposite sex without being referred to as a "player."
Singles have the right not to be reminded of any past relationships.
Just because something is not specifically stated here, it does not mean that it is not a valid right of singles.
The ASPCS was founded by Greg Irwin and Suzanne Craig (nee' Ashley).
